Chapter 29 - 29

The hospital insisted on keeping me for another two days and I just used the time to catch up on my homework. Kacchan by my side. Nezu would come up and see us and we were able to play a few games of chess and just relax for a short while.

"You know, the fact that you two still win so many more times than you lose still scares several of your teachers during the last teacher meeting," he hummed trying to distract me, it was my turn but I just moved my rook before responding.

"You told them that we play with you?" I asked, pretending to be interested. Aizawa Sensei already knew because there have been times he has pulled us out of class simply because he was either too bored or he was having a bad day and wanted to play a game. I had assumed that Present Mic knew and that he had told the rest of the staff but I didn't know for sure.

"Oh yes, your teacher Aizawa made short work of that by telling his husband," he chuckled, moving a pawn.

"Awe, don't be mean to Present Mic, he just gets excitable," I gently scolded him before smiling. "Check."

"You really do seem to know everything about your teachers," he sighed before refilling our tea while Kacchan reset the board. He had knocked over his king to let us know that he was done and this time I sat back and watched them play. He fired off random questions like a quiz to see if Kacchan and I had been keeping up with our hacking skills but even with Kacchan answering he couldn't get him distracted.

"Checkmate," Kacchan smirked and Nezu chuckled again.

"I would like to see you two play each other," he said with a smirk, somehow producing a package of cookies for us to enjoy with our tea. Kacchan and I exchanged looks for a moment and then shrugged. No harm in showing him I guess.

The game lasted for more than an hour, at least twice as long as any game we've had with him and he watched us seriously, well unless you count 3d chess, that takes way longer. The game ended in a stalemate. Neither of us are able to make an effective move either for offensive or defense. Something that for chess is hard to do.

"I feel like I've learned more from that one match than I have in the last decade," he muttered out loud.

"That's a sad thought," I answered.

"Downright fucking depressing. Go learn a new language or some shit. Or make your own, it's not that hard," Kacchan rolled his eyes and that made Nezu look up excitedly.

"You've made your own language? Not a code but a full language?" Nezu was about to question us further when Aizawa Sensei walked in.

"Don't you have anything better to do than harass my students?" He groaned.

"Not at all. Now Young Bakugo tell me more. When did you do it? What made you do it? Where did you start?" His eyes glinted in his excitement.

"Deku said it couldn't be that hard so we each made a verbal language with a writing system. It was really too easy and we use them all the time," Kacchan shrugged and this time Aizawa Sensei stumbled when he heard what we were talking about.

"Wha-?"

"Boys! It's time to go home!" Dad burst through the doors with Mom and Aunty and Kacchan and I both brightened.

"Fucking finally!" Kacchan sighed and I could only agree, giggling. We jumped out of bed and grabbed the small bag with our things in it (the clothes we came here in, or really the rags that were left) and Mom hugged us both and generally cuddled us, much to the amusement of the nurses right outside the door.

"Mom," I whined before giggling at her excited kisses and affection, I saw several nurses freeze and look back at us again. Yeah, Mom looks the same age as Aunty, so they only looked to be in their mid-twenties, at most. Life really isn't fair sometimes. Not that I aged badly. Thanks to my closer contact with Kacchan through the years even if it was less than gentle I stayed looking young and without looking at my history as a hero no one believed me when I told them I was thirty. Most argued that I couldn't be older than 24. I wonder if I'll look even younger this time thanks to the much more gentle application of Kacchan's quirk? I shake the thought out of my head.

"Back to the dorms, it's the middle of the week," Aizawa Sensei finally got some control over himself and Mom pouted.

"Aizawa, maybe they can just come home tonight? After all, their mothers' have only been able to see them in the hospital since the school camping trip. I would of course make sure that they arrived to class on time in the morning," Dad tried to step in, he can't say no to Mom and she wasn't letting me go.

"Just because one of them is your son doesn't mean he gets special privileges," Sensei crossed his arms, standing firm.

"No but if they had been any other students instead you wouldn't have even thought twice about approving the request. Boys go home and be ready for classes in the morning," Nezu piped up and turned his full attention to our teacher. "Why are you so bent on keeping them in school? All the other students were sent home after the villain attack and these two were in a coma after not only fighting but defeating the villains. Villains might I add that were among the world's most wanted," he went directly into lecture mode and I tugged on Dad's shoulder to get his attention and motioned out the door when he turned. The fact that Kacchan and I gave UA such amazing press with the release of the only slightly doctored body cam footage, had brought in a ton of funding and I don't see him getting onto us for a long time. Not to mention the fact that we now seem to be his favorite students in history.

So much better than the first time around and considering he never held the crap we got into against us back then was amazing in its own way.

Our parents practically hovered over us until dinner and when Dad went out to pick up ice cream Kacchan gave the birth control and condoms back to his parents but they seemed to notice right away that the prenatal vitamins were not in the bag.

"Don't need these," Kacchan avoided eye contact and quickly turned to leave, holding my hand and pulling me with him. Not before I saw the look of excitement on their faces and I saw them toss the medicine in the trash before Uncle took the bag out. All before Dad could see it. I have the suspicion that Toshi and Sho will be getting a handful of condoms just in case, soon enough. Maybe Dabi, I don't know though.

I think I would rather forget seeing their excitement but at the same time it's not like Kacchan is already pregnant or anything.

"I'm back!" Dad called out and we all enjoyed the frozen treat. It was just Kacchan and I since Toshi and Sho only went back to the dorms yesterday and Dabi was working the night shift this week.

"Dear, all the kids are safe and healthy, why don't we go see a movie? The boys will only going to bed soon, they must still be tired from the hospital," Mom flirted, taking Dad by surprise.

"I, uh but. You said-," he stuttered and I turned away before she started kissing him.

"Going to bed now," I walked out dragging Kacchan with me, not caring that it was only 6:30 because yuck. I shutter at the thought of what she was doing and why. I would rather not think about this being her way to give us time alone. No. Not at all. She just happened to feel so much better that she wanted to go on a date with my dad. Yep that's totally the reason and no other reason can exist, ever.

"Come on, I'll apply your medicine," Kacchan chuckled, and we got ready for bed. He cleaned my back for me and put on the medicine before putting on the new clean bandages just as I started yawning. I heard him chuckle again before he curled up next to me and we both fell asleep.

"Boys?" I woke up to Mom's voice whispering in the still dark room.

"Hmm?" I answered, starting to sit up only to wince at the slight pain in my back from all the bruising and wounds still there.

"I just wanted to come in and say goodnight," she whispered, her voice much closer than before and I felt her kiss my forehead and heard another kiss nearby, probably her kissing Kacchan's forehead.

"I just wanted to say that I'm so very proud of you and I know that you will do amazing things because you already have. I'm looking forward to what the future holds," I could hear her smile in her voice but decided to ignore it, already knowing she wasn't talking about us being heroes with that last part. "By the way, Toshinori agrees, he would love to have a grandbaby one day."

"Mom," I whined, too tired to think about what exactly she said to get him to agree. She couldn't have told him the whole truth, there just isn't any way.

"Goodnight and sweet dreams," she whispered, giggling to herself and ignoring my whining. "I only told him that the Bakugo's and I were considering artificial means so it wouldn't affect your hero or school work but that we weren't against the natural way either."

"Mom!" I forced my eyes open to see her smiling at me teasingly.

"I'm joking, the Bakugo's and I told him while you were in your coma. He didn't like it but he said he wouldn't hold it against you two if you decided that was what you wanted. We didn't tell him… the hypothetical bits," she confessed. "He also didn't like the fact that you two didn't trust him enough to talk to him about it but he didn't say anything about it," she added and now I just want the ground to swallow me whole.

"What time is it?" I groaned, sitting up carefully only for her to push me back down again.

"Late enough for you to go back to sleep," I just wanted to tell you while he was out for his late night walk," she smiled and pulled the covers back up for us again. I saw her brush the bangs out of Kacchan's face but they were just short enough to fall back into place again. It bothered him enough for him to turn in his sleep and cuddle into me though and I couldn't help relaxing at his touch.

"Goodnight my baby," she walked back out of the room and closed the door behind her. Well this is going to make tomorrow awkward, I groan at the thought but Kacchan on some level must have heard me because he pulled me close to him and cuddled me more. I'll wait until morning to tell him.
