After they had passed through a door, they were in a stylish looking training room with dummies, other targets, but also equipment for physical training.
"H-hpm, professor, why do you seem to single me out and try to give me benefits?", Sebastian asked, confused with the whole situation.
The professor turned around and looked at Sebastian with a smile, "Because we think your talent is higher than we expected. We thought you could have a high talent, but what you have shown so far just raised our expectation on how you are going to handle real combat spells. Not those hilibili pseudo-combat spells."
"Maybe it can be enough for us to back you, but we do not know yet. And you see, the leadership realised this, therefore this is kind of an apology for your test. We knew of your talent, just not the extent of it, but it would be useless anyway if you vehemently refused to learn, or even develop an anti-curse ideology, therefore the test."
"Professor Krieg, how high, in all honesty, do you evaluate my talent to be and what exactly do you think my talent is?", Sebastian asked further, a bit excited about the whole situation, though he became angry again. 'So they realized they messed up and now try to impress me with preferential treatment? Thats a joke!'
"Firstly, your talent in charms is outstanding, secondly transfiguration is not bad either. But the real kicker is your talent for combat. Your talent to use and apply pseudo-combat spells is amazing, but you do not have the right mindset yet. You do not aim to kill and try to play friendly. Then there is the fact that you managed to hide your spells. Sure, your family has this kind of talent, but not like this. I have seen Lord Roth use invisible spells, but even there I was able to see more of the spell than when you did it."
The professor paused.
"The first explanation would be that you pushed this ability further than Lord Roth, which would be amazing. In general, a family magic is either created through runes and a ritual binding some traits to a bloodline. Another possibility is mastering a magic so thoroughly it becomes ingrained into your blood. Some talents include special branches of magic, a high talent in a field of magic, triggered by a high mastery by someone down the line, or something that influences your body. There is a family known for being able to recognize magical signatures without any special training, one has eyes seeing the intent of runes, another a metamorphous ability. Either way, the talent becomes weaker with each generation. Therefore, this explanation is highly unlikely in your case."
"The second explanation would be you creating a new magic or skill, based on your family magic. It is very rare and difficult. If you did that, it would be even more amazing. Tell me, did you create a new kind of magic ability and if yes, would you like to register it with us? There would be enormous rewards.", Professor Krieg finished while Sebastian was amazed at this knowledge.
"Could you tell me a bit more about the rewards first, it sounds interesting.", Sebastian asked, fully intent to know about benefits first before agreeing to anything.
"It depends on how much it benefits us. Not only the use of a new ability, spell or finding is important, but where it leads to, too. Therefore, rewards can increase over time. The rewards can be access to other skills or locked resources, along with special services, in your case private training and teaching, etc.", the professor explained, "But in the end you would be able to decide on how to use your merit."
Sebastian took everything in before deciding carefully. Right now, there was no harm being done telling him about the ability to create lightless spells. It would only increase his worth and at the end, he was still a part of Germany so the German wizards getting stronger would only increase his and his parents security. The faster he became stronger, the earlier and harder he could fight back against any missuse of power against him.
"Then, professor, I definitely created a new kind of ability. But could we do this later on Saturday? I would like to have someone from the research department with us or more staff members in general. I think you would all benefit from my explanation. And right now, it would rather use this short amount of time to have you tell me, which spell would benefit me the most as of now. Naturally it shouldn't be a spell we would be learning next week.", Sebastian answered and smiled. They had underestimated his talent, and he would use this to get the most benefits possible.

Professor Krieg had explained that it would be best to start learning a stronger spell right now, so he could grow with it. It could be a trump card or the base of his current combat style. Additionally, the professor explained in detail about curses. There were some curses influencing the mind, like the unforgivable which the professor told Sebastian about. Then, there are curses that are very deadly but have no repercussions whatsoever. It depends on what the source of a spell was. Very dark spells could be easily amplified by evil intentions, making them influence your personality.
That was the thing Sebastian was most worried about, but Professor Krieg reassured him, that most spells do not have this trait. Therefore, after contemplating a bit, Sebastian agreed to learn instant killing spells. The test had shown that stunners and reductors would not take him very far, but would instead increase the chance of losing his life.
What Sebastian did not realize was that his experience in the forest, the test, and his family trait slowly changed his ideology, making him more ruthless and slowly compromising his ideology of nonviolence against humans.
In the end, he learned the Blasting curse 'Confrigo', which causes a target to explode. It is not very strong against shields, as it only works on physical objects. If it were to hit a target without any magical protection, it would explode. The reason he was taught this spell was that another charm, the bombardment spell, causes an explosion in general and does not make the target itself explode. That was why it was currently too dangerous to teach as it could damage Sebastian if he had no prior experience with such spells.
True to his expectations, Sebastian was able to cast the curse after a few tries with a bit of feedback from Professor Krieg. This went on to show Sebastians talent for such spells, because normally only the third year or late second year students can use it and after a lot more practice at that.
Professor Krieg was as happy as he could be and ordered Sebastian to stay back and practice casting the spell at targets while dodging. The other students would only start to practice dodging today.

After lunch, Sebastian was allowed to continue using the training room. Apparently the next four weeks would consist of dodging, casting while dodging and at the end, one against one duels with stunners to measure the progress of the students. In between they were going to learn the disarming charm, leg-locker curse, and general counter spell. With these spells, the students would be able to learn their first few spell chains and practice them on each other.
After class, Sebastian spent a bit of time practicing a few commonly used charms they had gotten. They were not necessary to pass the year, instead everyone could learn them in their free time. They consisted of the fire-making spell, softening charm, reparo, scouring charm and the likes.

On Tuesday was the 'Battle transfigurations and potions' class. The first day was practically the same as the first transfiguration and potions class, but the future looked promising. They were going to focus on transfiguring shiels, aka changing the shape of something on the fly, and they would have to master a few basic potions to either throw at enemies or to support themselves. Another large part would be identifying the effects of potions and poisons and how to neutralize them.
All in all, they would learn to make eleven potions and identify around forty of them.

The 'Magical Theory and Research' class on Wednesday was a lot more interesting. First they would be learning a bit about magical properties and what could be affected by magic. Then, they would be learning about maths and basic physics, though Sebastian was not really impressed by the level of physics used by wizards. It was mostly pressure, heat, mass and different forces, like 'What force do you have to counter to lift object xyz?' or 'How much energy is needed to cool xyz to xxx degrees Celsius starting as yyy degrees Celsius?'. That was the maximum amount. After that, starting from the second year they would learn how to research magic, aka a few spells, how to use a few research utensils, and how to write a report.

Then came a class Sebastian was waiting for: 'War strategy, personal strength and warding'.

Is this short way of writing classes better? A few lessons still have to be detailed though.
