The white lord was impatiently pacing around the room with his clenched fists pinned to his back, ready to pounce on whomever the young woman claimed was the culprit.
"Listen up, I order each and and every one of you to answer all her questions truthfully because whoever lies will face grave consequences do you understand me." His tone was very assertive and cold
"Yes my dear White lord" They answered in unison except one short and small man that raised his trembling hand.
"Who is she? The police has been here already, do w...we have to be put through this again. We all loved Flora." He almost chocked on his words
The frozen dark gaze the White lord shoot him was enough for him to know that he had misspoken. "Pardon me my dear white lord." His shoulders shrunk making him even smaller
They were about twelve people in total, each of them gave Luna a detailed explanation about their last moments with the deceased.
One thing she had learnt on the job was that people were not who they presented themselves to be.
After a full hour of interrogating them she had nothing except that they all talked about a boy named Gerald, the white lord's eyes expressed disappointment and anger towards her incompetence, he dismissed everyone including the suspects.
His sobbing wife perched on the edge of the chair when she heard Luna ask about the missing boy.
"Gerald? He's innocent am sure, the boy could barely slaughter a chicken talk about killing a person.
"So why isn't that innocent boy here to tell that to me himself, according to the suspects he and you're daughter were the best of friends, he may know something. " Luna stroked the curly bob wig
His wife's body stiffened, she quickly dashed to stand beside her husband " My dear white lord is right, Gerald couldn't have done this,he's a good child and was an excellent friend to my daughter." She was shaking her head vehemently like she knew something about the girl's gruesome murder.
"Why do you seem to be so sure? Do you know something we don't?" Luna critically gazed at her although her eyes still expressed pity and sadness for her loss.
The dead girl's mother glowered at Luna
"I think we got off on the wrong foot am Flora's mother, why would I keep quiet if I knew something about her untimely demise."
"Well do you? The question is quite simple, just answer yes or no" Luna glowered back at the woman whose moist eyes widened and dried up immediately.
She stomped her foot and yelled "Of course not" her eyes flashed red immediately.
"Liar, liar you're pants are on fire."Luna rhymed as she slouched back in the chair, feeling like a lawyer that has just won her first court case.
"Excuse me! Is this a joke to you, my daughter is dead and you're insinuating that my wife knows something, I knew you were a fake."The white lord gave her a vicious look which made her shudder but she kept a straight face.
Luna laughed sarcastically "oh am the real deal Mr man, believe me when I tell you that your main lady here is hiding something."
She was getting to comfortable and cocky with the man unknown to her was that he was the kind of man that would kill you and make it look like Winnie the pooh had done it.
"Young woman do you have some kind of spiritual proof? Because if you don't you won't be getting out of here alive, how dare you slander my wife's name?" He angrily grabbed his wife's wrist and sat her down along with him as he waited for her to prove her theory
Muffling a broken sob,Luna shut her eyes 'What did I just get my self into? I should have listened to Don? What do I do?' Scary thoughts whirled throughout her head.
It was obvious she was not getting out of this one using her ability. The white lord's wife was done cooperating with her, she was never going to confess that she knew something about Flora's death, 'fuck fuck' she clenched her fists.
A sudden knock on the door quickly snapped her from her thoughts, not just her but it also attracted the attention of the other two people in the room.
It was the deaconess from before, she bustled to where the white lord sat and bowed in respect. "My dear white lord "Gerald is back and he says he has something to say."
His wife shut her eyes and murmured something under her breath which sounded like a cry for help, she looked very frightened. "Excuse me my dear white lord, I nee....."
"Quiet! don't say another word until we get to the bottom of this." He spoke curtly, responding to him would be like stepping on a land mine
The boy called Gerald sluggishly walked in, it was evident that he was carrying a burden of guilt, he burst into tears when he saw the white lord.
"Am sorry my dear white lord, please forgive my wickedness, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have done it, I loved Flora with all my heart but it just happened this way." The boy confessed putting Luna in a tight spot
The white lord's eyes exuded aggressiveness, his face contorted with viciousness "so all this time I stood my ground over your innocence yet you were guilty?" He took the boy by the scruff.
"It wasn't my intention I swear to the God we worship." Gerald continued sobbing and sniffling
Luna looked over at his wife, she looked distressed with her lips tightly pressed together. Confusion mingled with her growing sense of anxiety 'I was wrong, this ability has fucked me up. It's better I disappear from the lion's den as soon as possible.' Luna stood from the chair and began to tiptoe away stealthily.
"And where do you think you're going you quack?" He shoved the poor boy into the wall. "Now that I've unearthed the real murderer I'll bury both of you with her." He tightly grabbed her wrist, his other hand pinched her chin that Luna winced in pain.
"Murderer? My dear white lord I didn't kill Flora, she did" Gerald pointed his shaky index finger at his wife.
He thrust Luna onto the floor and widely gaped at the boy "w..what do you mean, spill it" large veins were pulsating in his neck and head.
"It's my fault that I got her pregnant, however when you're wife found out she berated us for the sin we had committed again the church. She gave me a huge envelope full of cash demanding that I leave immediately however I didn't. That fateful night I sneaked into her room, the door was half open and Flora was lying on her bed spewing blood. She told me her mother had done it and insisted that I ran so I did." George narrated the tragic events that surrounded Flora's death
His deep scary voice reverberated around the room "Both of you leave and don't look back!" George and Luna did not pause for even a slight second before they sprinted out of there.
On getting to their new home, it was so empty that all she heard were crickets, Luna had hoped that after the rough day she had,Logan would comfort her but he wasn't there.
"Logan I cannot believe he hasn't called or texted unbelievable." The fear of loosing him sunk into her bones as she trembled uncontrollably, it suddenly struck her that he could be ghosting her.
