The electric doorbell had been ringing constantly Interrupting the slumber Luna had finally dived into, she angrily punched the pillow over and over before pulling the covers over her head.
Different people that were concerned about her well being had been passing by her penthouse questioning her whereabouts.
One after another they bounced because she had refused to see anyone however this person was tenacious.
Whoever it was that was constantly pressing the door bell was obviously not about to give up anytime soon.
"Arh! I swear to God am going to drink someone's blood for breakfast today." She stormed out of bed and headed straight to the door without bothering to see who it was via the doorbell camera.
With all her thirty two teeth exposed, Shay's eyes flew open when the door swung open.
"WHAT?" Luna blocked the entrance so she wouldn't force her way in.
Feeling offended her wide smile was quickly replaced by a smirk"You're joking right! It's been three good days and you're absence is driving all of us insane, the least you could have done is let us know that you're alive, we've been worried sick." Shay tried to shove her out of the doorway.
Shutting her eyes tightly the young woman with a messy white hair bun exhaled loudly to show her frustration "Now that you've seen that am breathing and not dead as you probably assumed. You can have a good day." Luna vigorously slammed the door in her face.
Lately her life had become a complete mess, she had narrowly escaped death by the white lord's hands and her lover was ignoring her, without him she felt like she was in a state of limbo with no zeal to continue pursuing her revenge against her sister.
She couldn't shake off the feeling and thought that there was a slim possibility for her to save the dead woman.
"If only i had said something to Don or called the police may be, just maybe she could still be alive today." Luna bonked the back of her head on the bed-rest
Sitting on the bed with her knees close to her chest, she continued to blame herself for not saving the white lord's wife.
BEEP'
Her attention was grabbed by a text message notification, hoping it was Logan she hurriedly searched for her phone which was on top of the bedside drawer forgetting that she had decided to ignore him
Unfortunately that hope was shattered the moment she saw the Messenger Identification.
It was Raki informing her that she had information on Timothy Turner.
'At last something to take my mind off things, Luna dried her tears and quickly dialed Raki's number.
"You're guy is nowhere to be found, if he left this country it wasn't by air, road or sea unless he used an alias." Raki let out a small sigh.
"Shouldn't you be able to find that out?"Luna 's patience was growing thin, "Is he alive or dead? What about his sick mother ? How come they disappeared into thin air." Her authoritative voice could be heard miles away
" My connections can't trace him using facial recognition software, honestly it baffles me as well however I'll be on the look out just in case he pops up on the radar." Raki hung up the call from her end.
Her shoulders slumped with her thoughts whirling with all kinds of possibilities
'what if what Shay said was actually true and the young man was killed because he resigned?' The more she thought about it, the more she believed that Timothy Turner knew something about her host's death.
She shrunk in her bed under the covers and watched a soap opera until her stomach growled reminding her that it couldn't handle the hunger strike.
The fridge and food pantry had run low on food supplies since she had nothing to do other than eat and watch TV for the past days, Luna had depleted them fast.
The young woman's stomach had been churning since morning but she had decided stay indoors because she didn't want to run into anyone especially Don who had come up to check on her a couple of times.
Delivery was out of the question because Shay had decided to camp outside her door until she let her in, her stomach rumbled louder that the first time it hurt.
She picked up her phone and dialed Nate, he was the only person she could think of to come to her rescue in that moment.
"Luna! Hey are you alright? I've been trying to get in touch with you but your number was out of service, is everything okay?" Nathan's words were laced with genuine concern about her well being.
"Nate? Am really famished right now, could you be kind enough to bring me some food and a drink too." Luna lightly clenched the phone hoping he wasn't preoccupied with something important
"Uhm...uhm....alright sure, I'll be there in a few seconds." He hung up almost immediately
She soothed her empty tummy with warm water mixed with Himalayan pink salt, Luna didn't hesitate to run to the door when the door bell rung.
With a broad grin on his face, Nate initiated and maintained eye contact with her as he walked in with food takeout containers big enough to feed a full stable of hungry horses.
She peeped outside the door and let out a quick sigh of relief when she didn't see Shay pinned to the floor.
"The poor lady left when she saw me walk here." Nate told her as he placed the containers on top of the kitchen island.
Luna raised her brows feigning ignorance of what he was talking about.
"You were looking for Shay, right?" He lightly chuckled."You guys are really getting close, in the past you barely glanced her way."
Luna lightly tugged her hair "Am surprised because she's been bugging me for days now."
Without bothering to plate the food, she ate straight from the takeout container amid praising and appreciating how good it tasted.
"Slow down, you don't want to get indigestion, do you?" Nate watched her gobble the food like a hungry hamster with a dimpled smile.
"Why did you call me and not Logan?" He's question was like a dagger that aimed straight at her heart.
She cast him a simple glance and shifted her attention back to the food.
"Trouble in paradise?" Nate asked undettered that she was intentionally ignoring him.
He brushed his strong hand over hers sending electric sparks to the back of her spine.
Luna quickly pulled her hand to her side and inhaled sharply, she didn't understand the feeling nor did she want to find out what it was.
"He's avoiding me." Her answer was brief and precise although her she sounded hurt
He exhaled loudly and gazed into her eyes with raised brows "so you called me because he's ignoring you? Is that who I am to you Luna? A rebound guy?" Moisture grew in his gorgeous blue eyes as prominent lines grew on his forehead.
She could feel the pain and hurt in his voice, Luna was well aware that he had feelings for her but her life was already chaotic enough besides she truly believed that Logan was the only man for her, his feelings were only going to become a distraction and a burden.
"You're my treasured friend Nate and i don't take you for granted, you'll never be the rebound guy." Luna's stern whisper was enough for him to hear clearly.
