Chapter 34 - 034. Slaying her dragons

Nate was hell bent on fulfilling the promise he had made to Luna the last time he had seen her. It had painfully sunk in he's head that all she wanted from him was friendship.

"I'll take that for now and wait for Logan to mess up because am sure that he will. So I'll be here waiting with my arms wide open."

He called her after the break of dawn " What time did you say the appointment was?" He honked at the car before him to move ahead because the traffic light had changed from orange to green.

"At 3pm, can you pick me up am at Euphoria, that's if you don't mind." She crossed her fingers and hoped for a miracle since He's schedule was always tight

"Ofcourse I don't mind, I'll be there at 2:30pm sharp." He said goodbye and hungup.

Subconsciously Luna was picking great interest in Nate, he always found a way of surpassing her expectations of him.

When she declared to him that all she wanted from him was friendship.

She expected him to create a scene and be mad at her or perhaps end their existing friendship that they had built during their last conversation

To her surprise he let her know that he wasn't in a rush and would wait for her.

Without pause, he had quietly walked out in silence and came back with a big bag of supplies to restock her empty fridge and pantry. By the time he had left they were on better terms than ever before.

Placing her phone into her Faubourg birkin, she sweetly smiled unaware that Shay and Rowena were watching with quizzical gazes.

"Whose responsible for this long lost smile?" Are things back on track with you and you're married lover?" The nosy woman had a way of taunting her with her words

Startled because she didn't see her coming her way,Luna rolled her eyes and tucked her unruly white hair behind her ear.

"Do you have to remind me that am having an affair each time you're bored? And why do you think I was depressed because of him?" She folded her arms and glared at Shay who wasn't backing down instead she sat on the office desk.

"The cards showed me, just kidding it's pretty evident, you've been skipping work and now that you're here, you're in a grumpy mood." Shay shuffled her cards and settled them on the table.

"Pick a card." Shay pulled Luna's hand from her waist.

To her displeasure the young witch declined "Am not falling for that fraudulent practice." She curtly responded with an intention of hurting her feelings.

Pressing her lips firmly together in fury the woman wrinkled her nose, " Don't push it Luna, shift your anger to someone else like your secretary" Shay marched to her work station.

Rowena leaped up from her seat unintentionally, her phone falling onto the floor in the moment of panic.

Luna had already notted that she was scribbling on her phone under the table. She was sure her secretary was a spy all she had to discover was for whom.

She picked her buzzing call and confirmed to meet the other person on the end of the line, after she had cut that call she spoke loudly so Rowena could hear.

"Is this Doctor Barbara Saunders, I would like to book an appointment for hypnosis therapy at 3pm"

Rowena quickly picked the phone from the floor and sat down to scribble something on it, her timid gaze met that of her boss who was giving her a suspicious look.

Luna quickly shifted her gaze to her cute bag, inserting her phone in it, she strolled out humming spies by cold play.

Cassandra couldn't hold her excitement when she saw Luna whom she had called earlier extending a brunch invitation, she beamed and waved at her. Stella was sitted close to her with a whiskey shot in her hand, it was just 11:00am.

The only daughter of the Robinson family smiled at Luna when she finally joined them at the round coffee table.

"It's so good to see you Luna, you're like a breathe of fresh air in my troubling life." Stella gulped the shot in one go and squeezed her face because it was too bitter.

"I know right! it's indeed sudden but I've missed you Luna. I really enjoy your company and that's rear, I swear." Cassandra patted her hand.

Luna couldn't hide her curiosity as to why the dark haired beauty had invited her over for brunch. Raising her brows, she gave Stella a quizzical look " Cassandra said you had something important to tell me?"

The older woman clapped hard once like she had remembered something of great importance.

"Well it's not that big of a deal, I want extend an invitation to you. This Friday is my mother in law's eighty fifth birthday and I will be honored if you graced me with your presence."

Nodding her head in agreement continously, " The same applies to me, please be there if you can." Cassandra pouted her thin pink painted lips.

Confused the young white witch spoke "Forgive me, there is something that I don't understand "is there a case that you want me to solve for you?" Luna smiled at the waiter that placed a glass of sparkling water infront of her.

"No no, I want you to come as Luna Grey not as the white witch." Stella rubbed her hands nervously. What she wanted was to show her friends that the famous white witch was her ally so as to induce fear among them.

To her disappointment Luna turned her down without hesitation " Am truly sorry, I don't think I'll be able to be there because I have a tough case on that same day." She lied blatantly.

There was no way she was going to run into Megan unprepared besides Luna didn't want Logan to know that she was getting friendly with his mother and sister.

Stella's shoulders slumped as she slouched in her seat "well that's a bummer."She exhaled noisly through pursed lips.

"Or you can look on the bright side, we could always hangout from time to time, I cherish my time with you guys as well besides I don't really have any friends." Luna's eyes sparkled as she suggested

They bought the idea immediately especially Stella who blurted out " you guys make me feel rejuvenated and full of life." Blinking frequently as she giggled.

"Tell us your secret to never aging, you look fine as hell Stella" Luna whispered loudly as she sipped some water.

"Baby girls just get a good plastic surgeon and marry rich." Stella sent them all into convulsions as they laughed at her statement.

Wiping tear droplets from the corner of her eyes Luna informed them that she had to go.

"Unfortunately so do I, the hotel is not performing to my expectations of late." Cassandra stood up and walked away hand in hand with Luna.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

suprised that Logan had finally crawled out of whatever hole he had been hiding in, nevertheless she ignored his calls altogether and drove back to Euphoria.
