Not everyone at the Robinson Mansion was in the mood to party because of the brainless stunt Logan had pulled on the previous day's evening news, it was grandmother Loretta's birthday and huge preparations were underway to ensure that the event was a success however tension had been hovering in the air since Logan and Nate's interview.
Nate's suggestion and plan had worked in Logan's favor, before that interview Logan had burged into his office demanding to know how far he had gone with ending the scandal.
"Unfortunately, it's still spreading like wildfire, I can't do anything about that, I've never seen bloggers reject money before, it only means that someone is paying them and very well I must add." Nate gauged him, he could tell that he was very disappointed in him.
"Now what! I hope that you don't suggest that I sit and wait until the storm is over." Logan banged the table and pressed his lips into a thin line.
"This is not going away anytime soon besides it could come back to bite us in the ass in the future, especially you since you're eyeing the top most position of the King's group." Nate sipped his coffee.
He was exhausted but had barely slept after Luna called him and asked him to do everything he could to help Logan.
Sinking into the big office sofa, Logan's shoulders slumped " now what?" His voice had suddenly become calm compared to when he had just arrived.
"First I demand that you apologize to both me and Luna, man what was that? I told you as long as she was with you. I would never actively pursue her, besides she was very clear about how she feels about me, just friends." Nate looked at him with a blank expression
"She did! That's my magic girl" Logan's laughter rang loudly in the closed room.
After a few minutes of contemplating on the issue Logan apologized. "Man I've been dealing with alot both at work and at home, when I saw you guys all hell just broke loose. My bad, forgive and forget soldier." They fist bumped and hugged on it.
"Now that that's out of the way, let's forge a way out of this, I've been thinking that we can turn the tide in you're favor. Since you're the focus of the citizens right now let's give them something else to focus and talk about." The lawyer pressed the index finger to his cheek and propped the chin on the rest of his clenched fingers.
Nodding his head in agreement "Like what? It has to have the same impact if not better." Logan leaned forward to listen.
Nate threw a baseball to him "whatever it is just make sure it's something about the succession of that throne."
"That way I'll get these gossips off my back and sting Arthur in the process, I'll kill two birds with one stone." Logan laughed mockingly.
"Make sure its done during tonight's evening news, it'll attract more attention that way, call me when everything is set." Nate paged his assistant to call the cleaning team because his office looked like a pig sty.

6:00pm day of the party.
An unhappy Stella met a humming Megan in the lounge "What are you so happy about? Are you carrying twins? Ha! One would think you're the biological mother to that thing." Her index finger was pointing at her stomach.
Megan sighed softly and smiled at her "There are so many things to be happy about, today is grandmother's birthday and popular opinion has it that my husband is back in the directors high graces.
The poor directors that didn't attend the meeting Logan had called were threatened by Roman that he would wipe out their families one by one if they used their brains ever again.
"You only do what Logan tells you to do." Roman had told each of them at gun point after roughing them up collectively.
"I wonder what he did to make that happen? Claiming that my husband could have named him heir is simply ridiculous. My Arthur is the only legitimate heir." Stella clenched her jaws and fists, she had to squash the desire to punch the pregnant woman in the face
"It is a huge possibility because Logan was his son too. If you keep behaving this way, I'll declare publicly my support for him, don't push me Stella." Loretta slowly joined the two women.
Pouting her lips and holding her head up high, Stella walked away from them.
Music serenaded the out door backyard that was lavishly decorated with natural rose flowers and party string lights . The guests were having the time of their lives enjoying themselves, feasting on rare delicacies and drinking on fine wines.
Loretta was interacting with her guests and so were the other family members.
After her speech thanking the guests for coming to celebrate with her, Loretta retired to bed after cutting the butter cream red velvet cake.
"I know it was you Nate, you were the brains behind that poorly scripted show you guys put up last evening." Arthur walked and stood beside Nate who had been drinking solo abit far from where the party was.
"Honestly I had nothing to do with it, Logan called me and handed me the script five minutes into the show." Nate lied blatantly his eyes following Arthur's gaze to Logan who was the center of attention.
"Look at how they are all kissing his feet like he has been crowned already." Arthur smirked and laughed mockingly
"All I see is a social guy enjoying himself, you should try it sometime." Nate laughed softly. It was not news that Arthur was afraid and jealous of Logan's success that was self made.
"Tell me something Nate, where is he getting all his money, I know he stole the slush fund you don't have to confirm it but he's spending like he has a well of gold, where is it?" Arthur's voice slowly grew cold.
"Even if I knew I wouldn't tell you because you're both my clients, I would be breaking attorney-client privilege by disclosing that information." Nate began to walk away but Arthur pulled on his hand.
"Are you sure you want him on that throne? He's already out of control what do you think will happen if he gets more power." He had a worried and desperate look on his face.
"Are you afraid that you're father may have labeled him his preferred heir, you were very confident he wouldn't have a few weeks a go." Nate scanned his face to study his facial expressions.
"My confidence is running thin, I just hate the fact that it's taking Robelto and Steel Advocates this long to get it over with. Do you know what's taking so long?" Arthur sniffed and rubbed his nose.
Raising his eyebrows because he was suprised that Arthur unaware of what was happening around him " You don't know?"
"Know what?" Arthur frowned and waited to hear what Nate was about to tell him.
"Monday is the D-day"
Before he could process what he had just been told, Arthur's attention was grabbed by his son's tiny shrilling voice "fi..re..de..mon...fire..f..ire...demon" His trembling little index finger pointing at a frightened Megan who was quivering behind the large barbecue grill whose fire had gone haywire.
