Dressed in nothing but a white robe, Logan paced back and forth in the center of the vast bedroom murmuring to himself and scanning his brain for ideas on how to solve the complication.
'Nate better come through or else I'll have to find a replacement for that twerp, it's his damn fault all this is happening anyway.' He's thoughts were ungovernable.
The persistent ringing of his mobile phone was just adding to his fury. Nomatter how many times he strangled the incoming calls from the directors and Roman his personal assistant, the damn phone kept buzzing.
His bulging eyes checked for the caller ID, it was his able assistant calling for the hundredth time, Logan's steps halted as he stood at the center of his bedroom gaping at his phone, because Roman calling him meant that he couldn't handle the situation on his own.
Drying her damp hair with a mini cream colored towel, Megan found her husband standing frozen with his lips pressed tightly in a thin line.
She threw the towel over her head, walked to him, grabbed the phone and recieved it amid rolling her eyes.
-
"WHAT?" She barked at the caller who was unfazed by her nasty attitude
" Give the phone to the boss" Roman's gruffy voice sounded discourteous. She never understood why her husband was hellbent on keeping the arrogant bastard by his side.
"You are paid to come through during such times of crisis, so do your damn job." She smirked and hung up without warning.
-
Perched on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands, Logan sighed"What did he want?"
"I don't know and I don't care, all I know is that he should fix whatever it is or else you should fire that brute" Megan applied the expensive Chanel cream over her long smooth legs.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it" taking his anger out on the bed by punching into it countless times, Logan wrapped the pure casmere blanket around his head and screamed as loud as he could.
Megan gritted her teeth, she had warned him that his reckless behavior could cost him the most important position at King's group and it looked like her presentiment had come to pass but not on her watch.
" Logan I find it odd that the that Television stations and News paper outlets have begun to pick interest in this issue, Arthur must be applying pressure from his end, terminate this nonsense fast because am not about to loose my position of becoming queen of this group, people already treat and see me as one." Megan stood naked infront of the dressing mirror inspecting how big her belly had grown, to her displeasure it was still the same as the week before.
A knock on the door didn't give him chance to respond to her worries.
Without putting on any clothes, the naked woman walked and widely opened the door.
Maria gasped and tore her eyes away from her boss' breasts. She had seen her fair share of bizzare things in that house for the thirty five years she had worked there, this was nothing new nevertheless it was still embarrassing.
"Cat got your tongue, Maria? Or have you never seen a beautiful naked woman before" Megan smiled mockingly at the middle aged woman.
"U..uhm...ma'am Miss Stella Robinson is requesting for you're presence immediately."
Maria hesitated in her speech.
"Me or my husband? Which one of us?" Megan touched the base of her neck.
"Am sorry, she didn't specify." Maria quivered and let out a sigh of relief when the door was slammed in her face.
Dressed in a full white suit, Logan side walked Megan without a word and went to meet the elders, if he owed anyone an explanation, it was his grandmother.
It was pretty evident his mother was in full support of Arthur however his grandmother was neutral for now, he was hoping to attract her to his side, Logan didn't want the old woman to hand her vote to Arthur on a silver platter because of his reckless behavior.
"Look who decided to grace us with his presence! If not the black sheep of the family." Stella threw the cream buns she was eating towards his direction, lucky for him she must have been poor at handball because it landed in the pool.
Logan maintained a straight face, he had grown immune to his mother's insults.
"Good morning mother and grandmother" He greeted ignoring his brother who appeared to be in a great mood judging by his cat cheshire grin.
His mother sneered, "And what is good about this morning? Under normal circumstances I would be excited that you have ruined your chances of becoming the president of the group however am not because all Robinsons are catching stray bullets. How dare those nosy blogs say am an irresponsible mother, you are ruining my classy image you idiot." She moved to his side and grabbed him by the scruff, jolting him with all her might.
Grandmother Loretta pointed her black walking cane in her daughter inlaw's direction. "Let him go this instant!" Her weak raspy voice was loud and clear, she knew that Stella favored her biological son over Logan but to her they were both her beloved grandchildren.
"Am sorry to disappoint you mother and grandmother however I don't think this is the time for the blame game, am doing my best to get this sorted however to my dismay I believe that Arthur is catalyzing the already bad situation." Logan gave his brother a ferocious stare.
Hooting with laughter, Arthur shocked the elder women who looked in his direction with wide eyes.
"Arthur is this true?are you sabotaging your brother?" Grandmother Loretta's quizzical
look expressed disappointment and hurt.
His mother interrupted rushing to his defense "Ofcourse not Loretta! Arthur would never do such a thing that boys adores me, he would never let the blogs insult me intentionally, right? Stella's suspecious eyes shifted from her mother in law to her son who was chewing the inside of his mouth.
"I don't have time for foolish schemes." Arthur lied blatantly, his eyes glinting with malice as he side walked by Logan making sure to bump into him.
Ignoring his brother like a good actor, Logan played the victim card "mother I don't understand why you don't play fair, am aware that Arthur is you're favorite however sometimes you should love me too because I yearn for it, at the very least pretend to care and ask if it was really my fault or not." Logan's moist eyes looked at his grandmother who had bought his act while his mother smirked and chuckled.
The brutal headlines in the news broadsheets that afternoon put King's pharmaceuticals in utter chaos.
By the time Logan got to his office only two of the seven directors that believed in his agenda came for the urgent meeting he had called for.
He let out a heavy sigh and stood in front of the vast board room in utter shock.
"How can they be too fickle" He violently pushed the stack of papers that was placed infront of him frightening the two men.
"Mr Robinson, you cannot blame them? What is this in the news. We are all greatly disappointed, we only came hear to listen to what you have to say." Mr Smith a man in his forty's commented arrogantly.
Logan's bulging eyes stared at him "you better shut that trap or I'll make you eat your words. You're here because I made you board members, unlike the rest I'll hack you to pieces if you even think of switching sides."
Roman walked to him and whispered "None of them is picking, sir."
"Am giving you permission to use viscious means, bring those mother fuckers back to my camp." Logan hissed angrily.
