The wind howled aggressively, whipping up particles of sand and dust, coloring the air further dark. The sound of the blasting howl was sharp and loud, enough to pull Aldric out of his momentary daze as he lay on the bed of gray beneath him.
He opened his eyes to assess where he was, yet as far as his eyes could probe, all he could see was an endless stretch of gray sand. He turned on his shoulder, pushing himself up with his hand as it sank into the sand slightly, feeling the grittiness beneath his fingers. Eventually, he made it to his feet.
Aldric looked up. The sky was dark and almost cloudless, and illuminating it, though barely, was a sun that looked starkly different from the raging fiery ball of orange Earth possessed. This sun was completely white and significantly dimmer, although it was high in the sky, it looked as if it was mere minutes before nightfall.
"Bloody hell," Aldric muttered, dusting the sand off his coat.
