Aldric took slow, hitched breaths, his body remaining as still as possible. This was the best and quite possibly the only course of action he could take at the current moment. He couldn't see a thing, so attempting any form of combat or escape was futile.
However, whatever now stood beside him had only entered the cave after darkness fell. Aldric, who had entered the cave first, knew it wasn't a task for the blind. This meant that the thing, whatever it was, could see him perfectly well.
