Chereads / She Spoils Her Husband / Chapter 6 - Spreading interesting Lies

Chapter 6 - Spreading interesting Lies

In a famous restaurant, two people sat in the VIP room. The restaurant was known for it's ability to make rich people frustrated by not getting reservations.

However, for some unknown reason, Valeria could get a reservation in minutes, not to mention in a VIP room. This added to Liam's mysteries. Of course, Liam knew Superb restaurant. He had tried to get a job there and though he failed miserably, he got to know a lot about it.

One had to book a reservation at least one month before no matter how rich they were due to it's fame. Moreover, one could easily lack a table even if they were rich.

Liam was sure not even the Televers could get a reservation that easily. This lunch was helpful after all, he got an interesting discovery.

After a while, trays of food arrived. Liam wasn't surprised by this, after all, Sofia and Jake were one of the richest people in the world. He ate in silence. Too silent.

Silence could sometimes be loud and in their case it was. The only sound came from a wall clock and the sound of plates, spoons, knives and forks. Actually, they could even hear the other chewing.

There was also the sound of vehicles outside. This went on for a while until Liam finally spoke, "About me crying,"

"You cried a lot," she commented making his ears flush in embarrassment.

"I didn't ask for your opinion!"

"Okay, okay," she waved her hands as she said this.

"We should forget about that."

"Sure," she was not being honest and he knew it. But he didn't want to talk about it anymore.

"Moving on, how did you get a reservation in Superb restaurant?" He changed the topic skillfully. He could tell this question affected her by the way she paused. Just like he suspected, she thought he didn't know about the restaurant.

"You have a keen eye," she chuckled.

"Tell me something I don't know."

"Nevertheless, there are boundaries you must not cross."

"We are marr..."

"The marriage excuse is getting old," she paused and let her words slide in, "You are clever, you should know what I mean."

Liam smiled and took a bite of his food, "The food here is delicious."

"Tell me something I don't know," she flashed him a bright smile. The rest of the meal was quiet, but their minds weren't.

Liam could now tell that her secret was very important, it made him want to know it even more. After all, she had threatened him because of it. The worst she could do was kill him so he didn't care about the threat.

Valeria on the other hand was worried. It wasn't that her secret was too big. Her new husband was just too perceptive. It might bring trouble in the future...

When they were done, Valeria wanted them to go back home immediately. However, Liam pointed out that he didn't have any clothes and was still wearing the wedding suit Sofia had given him in the morning.

Not wanting to be heartless, Valeria took him to buy clothes.

"It's a pleasure to see you again madam," a young woman, seemingly a staff member in the huge clothing store, said.

"Him," Valeria pointed at Liam.

The day was spent with Liam buying a lot of clothes and them eating dinner out too. They went back to the mansion when the moon was up. This, of course, was noted by every Telever.

...

"Good morning uncle," Liam bowed respectfully in front of Harley. Harley snorted,

"You're calling me uncle, when you're just a greedy man my niece picked up?"

Liam's lips quivered before he spoke, "I'm sorry uncle for making you think like that."

Harley looked at him suspiciously. Just now he thought he heard mockery but the lowered head said otherwise. He was currently seated in HT's living room. HT was his part of the mansion.

"You're a man, let me see your eyes when you speak to me," Harley ordered and watched as Liam raised his head. His long lashes blinked innocently as they showed his enchanting eyes, just as innocent. He wasn't stupid, he realized that he almost blew his cover and had to put in more effort.

"I'm sorry uncle," Liam whispered but Harley heard him. He looked everywhere but his supposed Uncle-in-law.

"Don't call me uncle," he said in disgust, "What are you doing here anyway?"

Liam's legs suddenly started shaking rapidly, as if he was in deep fear. This shocked Harley, who even stood to go closer.

"Unc... Sir, may I please stay here for a while?" Liam pleaded and Harley could have sworn he saw tears in his eyes. Interesting.

"Why? Did Valeria do something?" Harley asked, his eyes showing happiness. He saw Liam's eyes widen even more with horror before he rapidly waved his hands,

"No, no, no, never! I have the best wife in the world!" Liam almost screamed, "I just... I just want to learn more about unc- sir."

Harley smiled, so his niece had really harmed her husband. "Peris! Bring some tea for our guest!" His actions were not hidden and Liam lowered his head to curse him silently. Did he think Liam was stupid? Urgh! How Liam wished to stab his dead heart!

After some minutes, Liam was seated holding a cup of tea. He had successfully made everyone in HT see him as just a weak man mistreated by his wife. One thing he made sure of was to not say that Valeria did anything to him directly, like he did with the maid. The maid would only tell her fellow servants but Harley could tell Jake, and that couldn't happen. Valeria didn't even know he was spreading lies about her harming him!
