Valeria sipped her tea as she looked at nothing in particular. When Tyler, her brother, saw her, he was a bit surprised. It wasn't a common sight to see her out of her room.
"Stop staring, you might make me think you're starting to like me," she scoffed.
"You make me look like the bad one," he said and moved to sit opposite her. One of the maids immediately brought him tea.
"Aren't you? I mean, what have I ever done?"
"Your existence alone is a taboo."
"Oh," she touched her chest and hissed, "I'm very sorry dear brother for existing."
He ignored her sarcastic remark, "What are you doing here? Did your husband chase you out so early?"
"Am I not allowed to drink tea in my grandparents' living room?"
"What do you want?"
She chuckled a bit, "Why did you follow us yesterday?"
He scoffed and took a sip of his own tea, "Why would I follow you? You're not special."
"But that's where you're wrong brother. I'm hated by each and every single relative except my grandparents, while you are invisible to them all. That makes me very special."
Tyler clenched his fists, the words hit right where it hurt. "I never followed you."
"If you don't tell me, I'll use my methods to find out," she chuckled, "So, big brother, tell me why you followed us."
"I told you, I never followed you," he spoke through gritted teeth.
"Fine," she put her now empty cup on the table and stood, "My methods it is. Have a terrible day brother," and she left.
She had an inkling as to why he followed them, and it had everything to do with Harley. She just wanted to confirm it but that brother of hers didn't break.
Her eyes darkened dangerously as she got into her car and left the mansion.
...
Days passed by really quickly. Liam had spent them convincing everyone that he was an innocent man mistreated by his wife. Don't blame him, it was part of his plans to make his wife successful.
Speaking of which, he hadn't seen Valeria for the past few days. Yap, she had spent her days outside which helped convince the family. The only people he never gave that idea were Jake and Sofia. Even the servants knew about it.
He was just resting in his and Valeria's room while reading a book when the door was harshly opened. Surprised, he raised his head and his eyes widened when he saw Valeria limping!
"Don't ask anything," she immediately said.
"I think I must. Where have you been?" His first question didn't have anything to do with her limping.
"It's not something you should know."
"You must know by now that I like meddling where I'm not supposed to."
"Is that why you have been telling everyone how I 'abuse' you?" She moved and sat on the couch.
He silently bit his lip. Her words were enough to make him feel all the guilt! "I'm sorry about that," he apologized and watched as she removed her pants. Wait, what? Why was she undressing?
He soon found out when he saw a piece loose cloth doing a very bad job at covering a huge injury. The scene was hideous and it deeply shocked Liam.
"Can you be a good husband for once and give me the first aid kit and some warm water," it was more of an order than a request, but he didn't care at that point.
When he brought everything, he insisted on treating the wound himself. She watched in amusement as he carefully wiped her lower part of her leg.
What she didn't know was that this alone had gotten Liam more information. When he treated her, she never flinched, not even once. It could only mean that she was used to it. What adventures could make her injure herself every time?
"Where were you?" He asked as he eyed her clean clothes. The only flaw was her pants which had some blood.
"I won't tell you."
"I'll still find out."
"Why didn't you tell me to go to the hospital?"
"I knew you wouldn't agree."
It was true, she wouldn't have agreed. "Sometimes, I think you're too clever."
He didn't speak and tied a bandage around her leg. "You really won't tell me where you were?"
"I will," she suddenly said when he was done. He stood and so did she. "On one condition." He was confused even as she held his waist and pulled him closer effortlessly.
"Which condition?" He didn't know why he asked this instead of pushing her away. Maybe it was because he didn't want to hurt her leg. Yes, that's the reason.
"I want to test if you can really get pregnant," she said as she smiled.
Liam's eyes widened dramatically and he wanted to get away but he didn't want to hurt her leg. So he could only try to wiggle away but instead of getting away, they fell on the bed behind them.
"You, what's wrong with you?" He asked through gritted teeth.
"What did I do wrong? I only suggested we do what all married people do," she shamelessly said, earning a glare from him. Actually, he was the only one who considered it a glare. All she saw was a pair of beautiful green eyes narrowed under cute long lashes, which fluttered rapidly adding a wonderful elegance.
"You want me to give my virginity to a woman who has probably slept with everyone who isn't a relative?"
