What type of body gets hungover over a single shot? She gets up to drink water, eager to quench her thirst so she can get back to sleep.
She downed one glass easily and walked sloppily back to her room. Before she can reach for the handle, a familiar sound hits her ears from the other room.
Owen is having a nightmare again.
Lucy moved from the front of her door to Owen's. There is more calm now, there are more sure movements, far from the panic from the previous nights.
She turns the knob and carefully moves to Owen's bedside, sitting slowly on the empty space on the mattress. She pouts at the furrowing face of Owen from an obviously menacing nightmare. At this point, Lucy has completely forgotten her headache.
She holds Owen's hand. She squeezes them, hoping that announcing her presence this way will make relief come quicker — and it did. Owen has completely relaxed, inhaling and exhaling at an even pace in a heartbeat.
