"Owen, this might sound absurd but… Are you attracted to me?" Lucy has thrown it out there like a canon and there will be no turning back. It's her first confession ever and she didn't realize it could be this easy and hard at the same time. It's just words and it fell out of her lips effortlessly but the recoil had her ears throbbing from the beat that was only supposed to be in her chest where her heart was. Why are there so many pulse points in the body anyway?
Before Owen can respond, Lucy quickly makes a follow-up remark. "Because I'm attracted to you." She had already leaped and it was too late to trace her foot back to find a foothold for safety. Her honest nature did not permit her to put it in another way. This is what she wanted to say and it was exactly how she put it. If she gets rejected here, at least it will save her a lot of heartbreak later on.
