Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

The first thing I saw was white. That was the only thing I seemed to see. Was this heaven? My smell was the next sense I seemed to come into. The air was tinted with the scent of coffee. Freshly brewed coffee was all in my senses. Home. That was what it reminded me of. Mom used to make coffee in the mornings to wash down her awful cooking. I heard someone walking towards me next. I felt the weight of someone's presence sitting down beside me as well. When my eyes looked up, his eyes were looking down at me with longing and concern.

"Heath?" I croaked out.

"Shh… don't try to speak just yet. You have been through a lot." he continued. "Would you like something to drink? Allisha brought some water." He said.

My eyes went wide. Everything flashed all at once. The party, then being followed by Raizer and Owen… They killed me. I– I died.

"I– I shouldn't be here. I– I died. Oh god Heath! I died!" I sobbed.

He pulled me close to him and wrapped his arms around my form. I couldn't help it, I sobbed into his chest. I clutched him anywhere, yet everywhere. I couldn't calm myself. The solid black t-shirt he wore hugged his body in all the right ways. He ran his hands through my hair and rocked me slightly, in comfort. He didn't say anything. I didn't say a word as well. What could someone say to something like that? Hell– he probably thought I was crazy. Once I composed myself, I gently pushed him away from me. Then the door opened. We both looked over to see Allisha. She looked from me, to Heath.

"Everyone is in the living room. She should be there. We can… shed some light onto the situation at hand." She said,

With those ominous words, she left. Heath looked at me, just as I looked up at him. Despite my predicament, I wanted him. I leaned forward. A soft gasp escaped my mouth as our lips briefly touched. I felt him suck in a breath of air. My eyes were locked on his lips. Neither of us moved. Then that restraint just snapped. His lips crushed against my own and I moaned softly at the sensation. He was so warm and comforting. He tasted of sin, and I was ruined for him. His hands traveled down to my waist grabbing my hips in a way that sent heat in between thighs. Just as I laid back down on the bed with his body covering my own, he parted his lips from my own. We were both panting.

"Fuck, I would devour you whole and now if I were the man I am." He mumbled.

"What does that even mean?" I grumbled.

I leaned up to place my lips back on his. This time he was the one who groaned. It sent butterflies in my throat. He gently grasped my chin and pulled away. He rested his head against my own and closed his eyes.

"It means there are two parts of me. One, the one who wants nothing more than to rip these clothes off of your tight little body, and the other, who knows you have been through so– so much, that you need all the answers before you decide anything." He whispered.

I was still panting softly when I nodded. His mouth was grinning when I pulled away. He stood and pulled me up with him gently. He led me out of the bedroom we were in.

The room he walked me into was absolutely stunning. Solid birch hardwood flooring, tall white walls with huge blocks on the ceiling support beams. A marble fireplace stood at the center. A raging fire kept the room warm. I was thankful for that more than anything. My body felt cold, however I felt it was a welcoming chill. It reminded me of jumping into the ocean in mid february.

Around the room were two large L-shaped couches. Pure white was a bold color to choose in furniture. The people who sat on them did not surprise me. Kira stood beside the fire. Alexander and Boa sat on opposite sides of one of the couches. Allisha sat criss crossed on the other couch. A solid black velvet ottoman sat in the middle.

At this moment I caught sight of what I was wearing. I looked so different.

"Don't worry about returning them. We are relatively the same size. I couldn't leave you in what you were wearing." Allisha said.

Solid black leggings that came to my mid calf, and an off beige colored turtleneck. The long sleeves allowed a bit more warmth to my body. I sighed to myself. They knew. I do not know how they do, but they do. They couldn't let me remain in my other clothes because they were stained with my blood.

"I died. It is the weirdest thing I have ever said out loud. I shouldn't be here. However, for some reason I am. I don't understand it, or what you all being here means to whatever the hell is going on. I– I am just a girl who wants to have a normal life." I whispered.

Heath made a move to comfort me, but I stepped away. The brief moment of hurt that flashed in his eyes sent a pang through my chest. I wanted him, yes, but I was also so confused.

"I've been having these awful dreams, it haunts me everytime I sleep. I am scared whenever I close my eyes that I will wake up in someone else's nightmare." I said.

"That is how it always starts. They go away eventually." Kira spoke.

My eyes looked over at her and I tilted my head in a curious way. Did she know something I didn't? Did they all know more than they were letting on? My eyes darted from Kira to the others. It was then I noticed Boa. His eyes were the same color as– no. There is no way. I walked over to him. He watched as I approached him. My hands reached out and cupped the sides of his face. His nostrils flared in response as his eyes dilated.

"He had those same eyes…" I said to no one in particular.

"If whoever you are speaking of truly has the eye color of myself, he is one of the direct descendents of the first line of demons Lilith created." he informed me.

"Ha– Great, so an original demon was the one who drowned me. Lovely. What the hell does all of this mean now anyway?" I asked.

I dropped my hand and walked away. My body sat down on the ottoman in the center of the room. It was then that Allisha decided to speak.

"Look there is no real easy way to say this, but you're a part of something way larger than yourself. We all are." She said,

"No you look, I am a normal girl. I go to college, do homework, go to parties, and fuck up at life." I said.

Her eyes snapped to me as she stepped forward. With each point she made, she took another step.

"For the hell of it, let's say you are normal. Do normal people have dreams of supernaturals around them; Do they hear songs that no one else hears, nor understands; interlink a mindlink over the spectral plane to connect with others? Or the biggest one yet– die, but Here. You. Stand." She snapped.

She was now standing in front of me. I could smell her scent of the dirt. There was a hint of something else. It was something more dark.

"The only thing I cannot seem to understand is what the hell are you?" She asked.

"What am I?" I repeated.

"That is enough Allisha." Boa snapped. "Can you not see she has been through alot?" He continued.

"This may be hard to believe, sweetheart, but we aren't human. At least, not all of us are." Heath said.

I looked over at him with wide eyes. Is he being serious right now? There is no way that he is serious. Maybe he is mentally messed up.

"I am the only human here. Though an immortal one, still technically human." Kira said.

"You– you are all insane." I said.

"No, technically, we are supernatural." Boa said.

Smart ass. I rolled my eyes and told them to prove it. It was then I may have regretted my words. Allisha stepped up and looked at me. I stared at her eyes as they went from a dark brown and changed to a deep red. She lifted her top lip to lick her lip. My eyes chose that moment to see the deadly sharp fangs that poked from her mouth. I looked at Heath to see him removing his shirt. I raised an eyebrow.

"The vampire I can believe but you don't have to strip for me to see something supernatural." I said attempting to make light of the situation.

"You'll see that soon, Sugar." he said with a wink.

That was when he started to change. Or at least parts of him. His breaths deepened and became louder. I watched as his tan skin started to get darker in some places until they turned into black spots. Upon closer inspection, they resembled the rocks of lava, but in smaller patches over his body. I felt the searing heat all the way from the center of the room.

"Cool it before you burn the house idiot." Kira said.

Heath looked up at me and I saw his eyes. It was as if there were flames dancing in his irises. He slowed his breathing and I watched as his body returned to normal, slowly. He was sweating profusely.

"Fire demons rarely take true form. Only a few have managed to even get where I am in terms of transformation. I come from Kuen-men-kuan." Heath spoke.

My gaze shifted to Alexander. He couldn't be supernatural as well, could he? He saw me staring and nodded, as if he knew what I was thinking. As we made eye contact his eyes flashed a vibrant yellow.

"Wolf." He said.

With that I stopped. My eyes looked down at the floor. Holy shit. They were not joking. Monsters were real. Everything I ever knew was being blown all to hell. Only then did it finally hit me. If they all knew what they were, what was I?

"Before you even ask, no, we don't know what you are, yet." Kira said.

I heard her approaching me as Allish stepped back. Kira placed a book inside my hands. The cover was worn and a faded brown color. All the notes were hand written inside as well. I looked up at Kira with a curious gaze.

"This has everything you will need to know. Our phone numbers as well are inside. Read it all over, and we will be around if you have any questions. I ask that you have an open mind. Learning all of this isn't going to be easy, but I believe you can handle it." She said softly.

It was with this parting I got up to leave. The further they got behind me as I left, the more I questioned if reality was even real at all. Has my entire being only been a lie?
