I have never been one to be the kissing in the rain type of woman, but as Alexander and myself walked back to the house, I wasn't upset by it. Hand in hand we walked, and it was such a bliss. I've never thought about having more than one lover, but the things Alexander told me are true. I am not being held down by human morales anymore. My heart can love all it chooses to.
When we walked inside everyone was in the living room and was watching us. Kira sat in Allisha's lap as she was petting her hair in a loving manner. Boa was still pacing anxiously in front of the fire. Heath was standing against the mantel reading some book. I couldn't help but see him wearing a black turtleneck, and I was jealous of a shirt for the first time in my life.
Heath stopped reading to look up at Alexander's hand holding mine. His eyebrow rose as he had a smirk on his lips. Boa stopped when he saw Alex and seemed to calm down. Alexander pushed my back, moving me towards Heath and nodded his head. I hesitated. No more hesitating, Sybil. I sighed and mentally accepted my feelings. I ran to Heath and threw myself at him. He caught me with ease and kissed me passionately. To say it became heated quickly was an understatement. I would have rode him then and there until I heard a slight cough.
My face was red as I pulled away. I looked down before looking up at Allisha. She was slightly smiling before she nuzzled Kira's neck. I watched her playfully nip at her neck. It made me smile.
Heath wrapped his arm around my waist and I leaned into his warmth. The rain made all my body heat go away in an instant. I shivered slightly.
Boa walked over to Alex but stopped. I held my breath.
"I— I'm sorry. What I said was cruel. Could you ever forgive me?" He said quietly.
Alex just smacked him on the back as he brought him into one of those hugs guys give each other.
"Brother, all is forgiven." He said.
A flash came from my mind as he called him brother. My dream. The car. The crash. It all flooded back to me. Then I returned to the present.
"I dreamt of someone dying before we all met. There was a car crash. She was being chased. She told me to tell her brothers and sisters that she loved them. I don't know why I didn't remember it till now." I said.
The roam went from one of joy to a room of somber sorrow. Kira looked like she was far off in her own mind. Allisha was the only one who spoke.
"Calliope was her name. She was a dryad and one of our sisters." She informed me.
I nodded sadly.
"I— it was as if she was being hunted by something or someone. She mentioned how she wouldn't go back to 'him.' Whoever he is?" I spoke.
At that everyone seemed to look up. I blinked in surprise. Was it something I said? Boa was the next one to speak.
"Calliope didn't have anyone. No relatives or anything like that. Who the hell would she want to hide from?" He asked.
"You could always go through her room to see if she had anything, like a diary?" I suggested.
Kira gently stood up.
"If— If I may suggest this, would you like Sybil? We are still coming to terms with her passing." She said,
I instantly nodded. If this would ease their burden then I don't mind it. This is my family now.
Allisha's P.O.V
Calliope was dead. She was hunted and killed. I should have known something bad was going to occur when she asked to take a trip. Hell- she didn't even mention where she was going. Why was she even taking a leave? It just doesn't make any sense.
Kira leaned down to me and gently kissed my lips. I sighed in awe as she had that way that made me calm down instantly. I took her hands in mine and pulled her into my lap. She wiggled until she was comfortable and I gently drew circles on her skin. She cupped the side of my face to make me look up at her.
"Darling, all will be well. We will know the truth soon." She said,
"She died. Probably alone. There was no one there with her in those final moments." I whispered.
I hate myself as a bloody tear falls from my eye. This is why I hate to cry. It proves how messed up I really am. How I am damned. Kira doesn't care. No matter what I have done to scare her off. She knows what I am, what I have done, and who I am. She loves me.
Kira took her finger and wiped away the bloody tear without a care in the world.
"Sybil was with her. She might not have known she was with her, but she was. Cali was not alone at the end." She spoke.
I nodded, but it was still hard. We may not be bound by blood, but these people, they are my family. Not a family by blood, but a family by choice.
I looked around Kira to see everyone else had gone. Sybil went to Calliope's room. Heath and Alexander headed to the kitchen. They most likely were getting drunk. Who knows where Boa went. He probably went downstairs to the gate. He tends to do that when he is full of emotions.
Kira brought me back to her and she gently kissed my cheek. I looked at her. Ever since she became immortal, I find myself at ease. Even immortals have their weaknesses, but she has few. Speaking of weaknesses… I stared at her neck. I swallowed deeply.
"I need to get something to eat. You're starting to look like a snack, my lovely." I say.
She slightly nods, but then she moves her hair to the side. That action exposes her neck to me. I found myself licking my lips as my fangs came out.
"Kira…" I say in barely a whisper.
"It isn't the first time… I trust you Allisha. Always." She responded.
Without hesitation I descended. It has been getting harder to resist her. As my fangs pierced her flesh, her hot blood flowed out of the bite. I lapped the liquid up as if I was famished. I savored each ounce as if it would be my last meal. The taste was divine. I squeezed Kira's thighs harder as I bit a little deeper.
Kira moaned at my action which only made me close my eyes in pleasure. A vampire's bite is pure euphoria for the one who is bitten. We release this venom that is a stimulant for a person.
"Not— not too much my darling." She said,
I instantly removed my fangs. A small trail of blood fell down to Kira's collarbone. My eyes followed the trail for a split second before my tongue lapped it up. I held her swaying body close to me. I licked the wound and watched as the puncture holes slowly closed up.
My eyes locked with Kira's enchanted gaze. I was probably covered in her blood from mouth down. She didn't even seem to notice as she leaned down. I met her lips in a deep kiss. My love… you are my life.
