Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

Needless to say, we all skipped. Hell, it was probably for the better anyway. I'd have to avoid Trent and his goons. That was awkward enough. I'd doubt with everything going on I'd be able to focus anyway. So here we all were, at what I'm calling the hideaway. I was surprised more than anyone that there was a huge pool inside. This thing just has to be twenty feet deep! With a sniff of the air, I smiled as it smelled like the ocean. Why salt water? I couldn't say for certain, but I loved it.

I opted for a white bikini top and bottom. It was simple, but to be completely honest, I wasn't sure what was about to occur. There was no need to be dolled up. I perched down on my knees at the edge of the pool. The others were watching from the other side of the pool, except Heath who insisted on staying by the door. Even from here I could feel the heat from his body. He was on edge and his demon form was showing slightly.

I took a deep breath and dipped my hand into the clear waters. A shutter of a breath escaped my lips as my skin transformed once more. This time, they all saw it as well. The dark tint to my skin and how my nails become long and sharp, it was intense. Then there was this calling.

My eyes seemed to glaze over as I felt myself being lured into the water. The pull was almost hypnotic and I felt delighted to return the call of the blue waters.

Boa's P.O.V.

Seeing Sybil's hand transform like that was mind puzzling to say the least. We all saw it. In that split second I saw her eyes glass over, I knew what she was. They were extremely rare. Of course she would be one of them.

"Siren…" I whispered.

Everyone heard it despite my whispering. As Sybil went under the water I laughed. I legitimately laughed. Allisha and Kira both glared at me.

"What is so damn funny?" Allisha snapped.

"I was just thinking what a hell of a group we all are." I said.

I looked down and a slight grin tugged at the corner of my lips. Then Kira's eyes went wide in shock as she pointed to the water. We all snapped our attention to the waters. It was one hell of a sight.

Sybil's body seemed to totally transform under water. Her skin's color faded into this dark onyx around her hands. Her face and mid-section were her normal pale skin tone. All along her body were these shimmering scales and rough gashes. I'm assuming those allowed her to breathe. However, the most drastic change was her legs. They seemed to morph together into a tail. It was blacker than night itself, but had these glimmers in random spots that looked like shards of glass reflecting off the sun. Her blonde locks stayed, which was a hell of a difference in color compared to the rest of her body.

She seemed to stay under the water for a good portion of time. We all didn't seem to mind since she had to experience all of this on her own. We all needed moments to process our changes. My ears picked up on the slightest tune. It was rather unsettling to my ears. Was it coming from the water?

Alexander's head twitched slightly as he looked up at me.

"What the hell is that?" He asked.

It was then that we saw Sybil slowly ascending from the water's surface.

Sybil's P.O.V

It was all so weird. My body listened to the call of the water, and I wasn't disappointed. As I felt the water surrounding my entire being, I felt this immense pleasurable shiver caressing my entire body. It was slow and transforming in a sense. I felt my body jerk then. Snapping to the side as the pain started. I shrieked as I felt bones snapping and bones conforming to unify as one.The process of my body breaking over and over only to ram pieces back into other pieces was excruciating! Please make it stop!

I was not certain how long I was in this process, it could have been minutes, it could have been seconds, I couldn't seem to define it. Time and space had no meaning for me. I felt numb. It was just me, the water, and this primitive feeling inside of myself. I could feel no one in the water with me, but I could sense the others in the room with me. Two females, and three males were near. It's so lonely in these waters. Come to me, please. It wasn't until I thought this, that I felt this hum come from my core. What is this? Why do I find it calming? Addictive.

My tail fluttered back and forth as my body ascended through the water. When I broke the surface, a small pass of air entered between my lips. I looked down at my body. It was almost black. If you were close enough you could see the small shape of scales all over my body. I could only see from my chest and downwards, but all of my pale skin was normal. The night's sky was a mirror in color to my tail. It was beautiful. My blonde locks seemed to glide beside me in the water. My tail was the same color as the rest of my body, however at the ends seemed to be almost translucent towards the end tips.

If I looked down at my hands, you could see the webbing in between each finger, linking them all together in some way. They had small slashes over them. Perhaps those were gills? I noticed I had them over my body and sides as well. Overall, this transformation was a welcoming one after the pain that it started with.

I looked over at the door. Heath. Looking at him now seemed to make him all the more handsome. The long black locks of his hair framed his chiseled and taunt jaw. He was on edge. I could tell by the rigid stance in his large biceps that he folded across that muscular chest of his. I licked my lips as I imagined my tongue tracing every outline of his muscles. To softly nip at his pecs as he stared down at me. That hum inside of me slightly grew. His face seemed to contort slightly. As if something had stung him.

Don't hurt my love. Come to me, and I will make it all better. It was at this moment he took a single step towards my direction. To the side of the pool water's edge I heard a voice speak about me being a siren. A siren? What? I can't be– fuck Heath looked so delishious right now. How was a girl supposed to think in these conditions? He was almost near the edge. I swam over to the edge and propped my dainty arms on the side. His eyes, were they always that cloudy? Who cares? He is divine. A body like his is just sin in physical form.

I noticed someone come up from behind him. As he crouched down to me. He seemed to be fighting something. What could he be trying to stop? That's why I love the water. It is so peaceful here. Come and join me. I noticed him lean to my lips. Is he going to kiss me? My arms dipped back into the water.

"Pretty girl, don't do this to me. I–" he groaned lowly as he seemed to physically try to restrain himself. "The water will kill me if I am in it too long." He whispered that last part.

I stopped when I felt something being added to the water. What? What is this? I looked down. My tears. I snapped my eyes up in shock. Oh god! Heath! I used one hand to lift myself up and used my other hand to push him back with a primal force. I watched as his body soared through the air and slammed into the wall with a clash. I backed up attempting to put some space in between us. I suddenly couldn't breathe. I kept backing up, until my back hit the edge of the pool wall. The concrete wall seemed to slightly ground me, but was it enough?

Hands wrapped around my under arms, and lifted my body into the air. I was tossed onto the side of the pool out of the water. I screamed in pain. It hurt too much! Every bone was breaking once more. Please, make it stop.

"You're hurting her!" A voice yelled.

I couldn't see who it was owned by, however my heart knew for some reason. Please, please make it all stop– and then it did. I shivered and was panting all in one. I felt something wrap around me and looked up. Heath. I closed my eyes and sobbed into his chest.

"I'm so sorry Heath! I– I almost killed you!" I sobbed more.

He still looked on edge, but even so, he picked up my body in his arms. He turned to the side to look at the others.

"I am going to get her cleaned up. We can all meet up in the living room later." he said.

"Are you sure that you should be alone with her?" Boa asked.

I felt the growl form in Heath. I placed a hand over his chest. He stopped.

"As far as we all know, she is only dangerous inside the water. Until we know otherwise I will not treat her as we were treated brother." Heath said in a deadly voice.

Oh, what have we all gotten ourselves into?
