"Are you guys okay?" Honenuki asked as he popped out of the wall next to Tsu and Momo who both shot him an appreciative glance.

"I'm fine, but I don't think I can get Momo out," Tsu stressed as she looked back at her friend trapped in amber.

Honenuki grinned and gave Tsu a thumbs up, "Don't worry I got you guys covered!"

Stretching out his arm Honenuki placed a hand against the amber only to frown when the yellow gem-like substance didn't immediately soften, "That's weird."

"Is everything all right Honenuki-chan?" Tsu asked, concerned.

"This stuff is resisting my quirk," Honenuki replied without taking his eyes off the amber as his brow furrowed in concentration, "Not completely but I've never struggled like this before."

"Oh, I've read about this before," Momo chimed in helpfully, "Materials that have a high density of alpha particles are naturally resistant to quirks and can resist their effects. It's one of the reasons why dread beast materials are so valuable."

"That's great and all, but it doesn't help us at the moment," Honenuki stressed just as his hand started to sink into the amber, "Tsu I don't know how long this is going to take me, In the meantime I think the other guys could use your help."

To emphasize Honenuki's point the cavern shook as an explosion rippled through the air followed by the soldier ant's piercing wail. Tsu nodded with a serious look on her face, and without another word she jumped off the wall to go help her classmates.

Kenji stood with both feet planted firmly on the ground and his body wrapped in abyssal chains that emerged from the ground to keep him rooted in place. Both of Kenji's clawed hands were wrapped around his chain that was currently bound tight around the massive crushing mandibles of the soldier ant.

A strained grunted escaped Kenji's lips as the dread beast's head snapped to the side courtesy of Tetsutetsu landing a clean punch right below its eye that vibrated in its socket. Already Kenji's feet were buried a few inches into the ground from where he had been dragged around, but he was still holding on, 'But for how much longer?'

Despite their best efforts they hadn't managed to do any lasting damage to the monster and every attack that glanced off its spiked carapace only seemed to make it angrier.

"Why won't you die!" Bakugo shouted as he catapulted through the air before releasing a point blank blast near the ant's abdomen, only to reveal the attack had no effect as the smoke cleared, "Damnit!"

'We're just wasting our strength trying to knock over a brick wall,' Kenji thought to himself as he tried to figure out some kind of plan.

"Kenji, I'm here to help!"

Kenji looked over as Tsu dropped down into a crouch next to him, her eyes fixated on the battle unfolding before her without a shred of fear in her eyes, "What's the plan?"

"What happened to Momo and Tetsutetsu?" Kenji asked instead of answering as he tried not to let panic creep into his mind.

"The stuff the ants used on us can resist the effect of quirks, it's going to take a minute," Tsu responded promptly, "What is the situation here?"

"We're at a standstill," Kenji replied gravely, "We can't get past its armor, but so far I've managed to keep it from killing Tetsutetsu and Bakugo. But I don't see us winning this, either I fuck up and it gets loose, or its buddy come and join the party."

Tsu nodded, "So then we fall back, get to somewhere safe where the teachers can find us…or at least where we won't get eaten by ants."

"Sounds like a plan, in the meantime get Tetsutetsu over to Momo, I think his quirk will speed things up!" Kenji ordered as Tsu jumped into action.

"Tetsutetsu get ready you're going for a ride," Kenji shouted, getting Tetsutetsu's attention who looked over just in time for Tsu's tongue to wrap around his waist and yank him through the air.

"Hey where are you going bellboy?!" Bakugo shouted as he hovered in the air and screamed at Tetsutetsu.

"Do you think I have any say in this?!" Tetsutetsu shouted back as Tsu pulled him across the cavern and over to Momo.

"Bakugo!" Kenji shouted up at the fiery bull who turned on him with a scathing gaze!

"What do you want?!"

"Once Momo's free we're getting the fuck out of here!" Kenji screamed back.

Bakugo snorted, "Like hell we are, me and that ant have unfinished business!"

"We're not having this discussion right now!" Kenji responded putting his metaphorical foot down, "We're leaving, you can join us or you can stay here without me to keep this thing in check!"

Bakugo glared at Kenji for a long second before he roared and hurled himself back at the soldier ant with new found ferocity, "Die, die, die, die!"

Shaking his head Kenji tried to think of an exit plan when he felt the ground start to rumble, "Shit!"

Whipping his head around, Kenji looked over to see Honenuki buried up to the elbow in the amber sap trapping Momo in place while Tetsutetsu punched away at the still hardening bits, "Guy's how much longer?!"

Before anyone could respond the rumble became a cacophony, the sound of a hundred feet climbing over each other in their haste.

"Nevermind we're getting the fuck out of here right now!" Kenji screamed as the chains wrapped around his body disappeared as his chain unwrapped around the ant's mandibles and snaked through the air to grab Bakugo by the waist.

"Hey! Let me go, you bastard!" Bakugo screamed but Kenji ignored him as he turned tail and ran.

"Sorry but I'm not caring of a person to leave you behind to die, even if you're an insufferable asshole!" Kenji shouted back without turning around as the soldier ant screeched and the sound of the horde grew ever louder.
