"DISAPPEAR" that was the last word I heard right before everything turned black, "hmmm that stinky village boy survived" the voice said sounding obviously shocked.
As I opened my eyes, the rays of the sunlight welcomed me first. A blinding white light shined on my eyes making it had to see, as the surrounding became clear I saw a wolf so beautiful I couldn't believe my eyes.
Imagine a majestic creature with fur that gleams pure gold under the sunlight, each strand shimmering with vibrant colors that captures the essence of the wilderness. It's coat a weave of rich hues which seems to effortlessly blend in to its surroundings, creating a breath taking spectacle of natural beauty. As it's moves gracefully it's golden fur ripples through the air captivating all who looks at it.
"Are you done looking, young lad?" a voice resounded in my head, "you are a very lucky young boy, you have escaped many dangerous situations just today."
Firstly, dragging a corpse through the forest and coming out unharmed, and escaping a school of piranhas, one of the most dangerous group of creatures on water.
Your luck has made this master have a Favourable impression of you.
"Quickly stand up; this master has decided to give you a very special opportunity."
In another part of the forest, Fejiro was wandering aimlessly through the thick bushes, cutting vines as he passed through.
"Why haven't I seen a single animal since the hunt began? I'm sure Akpobor has hunted many animals by now and if I don't come out as one of the top four hunters my parents will never let me hear the end of it."
All I could see were palm trees and khaya trees, I didn't have fever so why am I seeing khaya trees everywhere? I look to my left; it's there, I look to my right; it's also there. I was at the point of frustration when I noticed an antelope behind one of the trees eating grass.
"My heart rejoiced," I could finnaly hunt something, in the midst of my celebration, I didn't forget to be as silent as possible. Any slight noise the antelope picks up it'll run away, and it's so fast that even I'm not able to catch up to it.
As I silently crawled to the antelope, i thought climbing a tree would be best because if it sees me, I'll not be able to catch it again and that might be the end of my hunt. The hunting challenge was just for two days.
Climbing the tree I also took the opportunity to search the surrounding areas, but it was oddly empty except for some birds and the antelope.
I walked gently on the branches of the trees, calculating my every step and walking silently jumping branches to branches.
Jumping on the last branch with the antelope beneath, the branch broke!. Before I could bring out my short knife to hold the tree the antelope ran away, I was dazed my last hope was gone I even forgot I was falling of a tree.
A landed on the ground hard with a 'thud', "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" I screamed loudly, I felt like my buttocks and my back were broken beacuse I landed on it. There were some minor scrapes around my body and some cuts around my hands and feet, I could barely move, the pain of falling from that height and landing on my buttocks was very painful.
I waited for the pain to fade away, with my hands and feet's bleeding, the smell of blood starting to permeate the surrounding area.
"Squeak squeak squeak" I started hearing sounds of rats surrounding me, I quickly picked up my hunting knife but I could barely stand up due to the pain.
The rats were slowly creeping up on me, if I wasn't injured I would've had a way to deal with the rats.
Slowly the rats surrounded him and started gnawing on his body one by one each taking a piece of him.
"Am I going to die" I thought, I started thinking back to the past the encouragement the elders and my parents gave me, the honest smiles I received from my family and friend, the food cooked by my mom.
"No, I must come out alive" even if I make it back disabled I must surely come out of this alive. At that moment, "a shimmering light gleamed in his eyes" for he had surpassed a threshold, the threshold of endurance.
Threshold of ENDURANCE, after you surpassed this threshold you will have the ability to endure far more physical pain that the normal human can, achieving feet's which other humans may seem unattainable.
It felt like an higher rate of adrenaline flowing in my blood, I couldn't feel much pain anymore energy flooding my body making me feel like I fight forever.
The pain of the rats gnawing on his flesh, the pain of falling of the tree no longer burdened him. Although the injuries and pains were still there, it didn't seem to hold as much weight as before.
This doesn't mean that he'll heal quickly, it just boosted his endurance on everything.
I stood up, looking at the rats around me and the ones on me their eyes glowing red showing how crazy they were, I took my knife and started cutting them off me I lost my sense of reasoning for a brief period.
When I woke up all I saw were dead rats everywhere all around me,My heart was finnaly calm, I survived I had a chance to check myself.
What I saw was scary, gruesome cuts around my chest thought they're were not bone deep they were large, my legs were filled with cuts bites and scrapes.
Though it looked scary I was not that scared, there have been warriors with worst who are still alive filled with energy today.
There was a method taught to all the children in the tribe to treat such injuries. I'll have to look for a leaf (bitter leaf) a lot of them due to my injuries but they weren't hard to find since they were literally everywhere and I was in a forest.
Ten minutes later
I gathered all the leaves I could find on the floor and started to chew it since there was no water around, the taste was very bitter(obviously) I spit the juices of the leaves into the minor wounds while the major wounds, pieces of my clothes which were around was tied to the chewed bitter leaf and tied all around my legs my hands and my chest.
Though it hurt I was able to bear it, I searched for a tall tree nearby and climbed it and slept on one of its large branches.
