Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6 - THE GRAND TEMPLE

In a different part of the world, a place where mountains gather ,a place even the sun's reach doesn't get to, a place so dark anyone under the transcendent rank would be considered blind.

Sigh

The voice reverberated through the mountains, the second coming of the world tournament is getting close and this time it's seems to be harder and more dangerous than before.

Ifeanyi a young boy from a tribe nearby heard all this. "His eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. The world tournament was a legendary event, where warriors from across the lands gather to contend for supremacy.

The tournament had been won by the infamous Emmanuel, a warrior of unparalleled skill. He was so strong he could be considered the strongest under transcendent, but that was years ago, and Ifeanyi heard rumors of a new generation far more ruthless and stronger than ever before.

He knew he had to train harder than ever to even survive let alone win, but this didn't bring him down for even in the face of danger he was full of smiles.

My eyes fluttered open, the soft rays of the sun shining on my eyes. I was confused, I wasn't familiar with the area around me but I could still see the tall palm tree it was over 500 feet, our elders told us after two days we should all gather under the tree to go back to the tribe.

As my senses sharpened I was alerted of a presence nearby, a figure that seemed to blend with the golden hues of the forest.

"You survived another dangerous encounter young lad." the wolf spoke again, your luck is commendable. For that I have decided to give you a quest, a trial a dangerous task which could even put your life at stake.

Although the task is dangerous the rewards are more generous, for if you have completed this trial you shall have crossed two threshold.

I will not guarantee that you will cross two threshold, it depends on talent and on luck but from what I've seen you have the luck to participate in the trial.

"The wolf words sent shivers down my spine. I just barely survived the school of piranhas now I'm gonna be doing something more dangerous, but the chance of crossing two thresholds was too enticing to resist. I nodded my head, I was scared but determined fueled my next words. 'What is the trial?' I asked, my voice steady. 'In the depth of the forest lies a grand temple behind those walls lies a treasure beyond your wildest imagination, but to claim it, you must survive the dangers in the way to the temple and also the trials in the temple.'"

I could go there myself but that was in the past, I was the guardian of the forest only the guardians and resident of the forest could enter the temple, I had forfeited that position for some personal reasons so I can't go there anymore. That's why I give you this quest in the hope that you can bring me the treasure that lies behind those walls.

As the name urhobo means children of the forest, that's the only reason why you can enter the temple. The temple can only be found at night, you'll find a bow shaped star with it's arrow pointing in the direction of the temple.

"I can only wish you good luck as you partake on this journey" the wolf said. " I felt the weight of the quest pressing down on me, if I couldn't complete the quest this could be the end of me and if I managed to complete it, I could become an elder of the tribe."

Ifeanyi POV

"Ifeanyi eyes gleamed with determination as he began training, pushing his body he knew he had to be stronger, faster, and more intelligent to merely survive the world tournament. But as he trained continuously he couldn't shake off the weird feeling he had."

"Ifeanyi's training was suddenly interrupted by a sudden commotion at the edge of the village. A group of warriors, with runes or fiercely painted design, had arrived seeking to recruit strong warriors for a mysterious mission. Ifeanyi eyes narrowed as he watched them, his mind racing with possibilities."

I woke up feeling tired, I could feel pain everywhere my body was aching badly, my wounds had stopped bleeding already while some of the wounds had scabbed.

I carefully climed down from the tree, I went to the place I had just fought with the pack of rats, I picked up my knife and started cutting off their ears for the battle record.

I was thrilled, I had finnaly crossed one threshold, the threshold of endurance. With my skills and this threshold I would be one of the top 3 best warriors in my age group.

I turned around and looked up, I was searching for the direction of the tallest palm tree, since I have nothing more to do for now and I'm filled with injuries I'll just go there at least it will be more safe.

I quietly waited for the day to pass till it became dark, "I gazed up at the night sky, searching for the bow shaped star. After a few moments of searching I saw it, a beautiful shaped constellation with its arrow pointing to the northern horizon.

I followed it's direction, walking through the forest the trees and leaves seemed to have an oddly shaped color with drawings on their leaves.

"Ssssshhh " something bolted right through my wrist leaving me bleeding, I thought it was just the leaves on the trees beacuse they were oddly strong and sharp.

I kept my guard up to avoid the same thing from happening again.

As I walked, the trees began to die out, and I saw it the grand temple in all its majesty, it's towering pillar adorned with intricate carvings, bathed in a golden brown light.

As I approached the temple the air grew thick with an otherworldly energy, the massive stone doors, plated with foreign symbols, slowly creaked open, revealing a dimly light Hallway that stretched as far as my eyes could see.

I wondered why haven't we found this temple before, from the size to the energy it gives off, it would be like a sore thumb standing out in the forest but it is mysterious hidden.
