Chapter 42 - 42. Power Gap

Dewi's reaction surprises Doni who didn't expect it. He has timed his attack to match Dewi's attack time so she won't be able to dodge. But she still could dodge with an impossible maneuver because of her incredible beastly instinct.

'He seems surprised that she could dodge his point blank attack. I don't know if he realizes it already, but the gap of power between them is very big. If my sister is already used to her power, then he won't even last this long.'

Indra already upgraded his sister's power to her full potential. He also has checked Doni's potential, but the strongest he can get won't even reach Dewi's initial power when she awakens. Even now, Doni's power can be said to be barely an S-Rank because he's just a bit stronger than a maxed A-Rank.

The only reason he can last this long against Dewi other than her inexperience is his powerful [Unbreakable] skill. This skill makes his body so hard that even an S-Rank fighter can't break it easily. That's why Dewi who can't use her power well enough yet is having a hard time breaking it.

If one only looks at its effects, then it's even stronger than Indra's [Hardening] skill. Too bad that Indra has higher stats, so his [Hardening] skill can surpass [Unbreakable]. But if both of them have the same stats, then Doni's body will be much harder.

'What a shame. Your lack of power is wasting your skill.'

Eventually, Dewi overwhelms Indra as she gets used to her power as they fight. He tries to fight back, but Dewi always dodges his attacks easily. She is also too fast for him to catch and she is also too strong. His [Unbreakable] eventually breaks as he accumulates more damage.

"Well, I guess we will build our own Guild. But thank you for your offer."

Indra says it while healing Doni's injuries that look very bad almost instantly. Everyone is surprised to see this level of healing magic. Some of them have seen A-Rank Healers' magic, but the speed is simply incomparable to this.

"So this is an S-Rank Healer's ability."

"To what extent does your healing ability do?"

"I don't know, I never tried it, so I don't know my limit. But I heard that A-Rank Healers can regrow damaged body parts, so maybe I can do the same. Well, not like I can cut someone's arm just to try it, right?"

"Um, do you want to try it? Like, right now?"

"Huh? How can I try it? Do you want to cut your arm, Mr. Secretary?"

"N-no, I don't want to do that. What I meant to say is there are many hunters who come out of the Gates with grave injuries every day. I just received a report that someone actually lost his 3 fingers while another person lost his eyes. It's just that I think you can try to heal them. Even if you can't regrow their organs, your healing magic should stop their pain."

"Hmm, well, I guess I can give it a try."

Indra & Dewi go to the hospital with the Director & Deputy Director while Doni goes home with a look of disbelief. He always believed no one could break his defense, but today his pride has been shattered.

As Indra said, the gaps between S-Rankers are the most unpredictable among all ranks. It can be really small to really big. The gap between Doni and Dewi is very big, but they have a big gap in experience as well. Still, the power gap removes that experience gap in the end.

"Sis, let's train a few more times before we raid a dungeon. Maybe we can also try to raid a rather low level dungeon for our first raid so we can get used to our power first before trying the high level ones. It will also be a good way to train ourselves to kill monsters."

"Okay, I still don't understand a few things about my abilities as well and I never killed anything except for some disturbing insects like mosquitos my whole life."

"That is a good suggestion, Young Master Smith. We also always tell high-ranking Hunters to raid low level dungeons in the beginning and raise the difficulties after they get more used to their power."

"We advise you to try C-Rank Gates or lower. They are relatively safe for A-Rankers and S-Rankers with no experience because the monsters are still weak enough for you. After that, you can try B-Rank Gates and then A-Rank Gates."

"But do you really don't want to join The Hunter Bureau and build your own Guild?"

"Yes, we want to hunt monsters instead of dealing with humans and politics. That's the purpose of Hunters, isn't it?"

"Hahaha, you're right. But you still have an obstacle in your way."

"The Government's nonsensical rule, huh? Well, I'll meet them tomorrow, so I'll make sure to settle it."

After a while, they arrive at the hospital and go directly to where the injured hunters are. Both who lost their fingers and eyes have been waiting in a room. They have been informed of this and are very hopeful that it will work even though they know it's just a test for an S-Rank healer's ability.

"Oh? They have quite good amounts of magic power."

"You can actually sense their magic power?"

"Yeah, I am quite sensitive to it. That was the reason why I didn't hesitate to let my sister fight Mr. Doni. I knew she was stronger than him, so I wasn't worried. But I don't know their ranks because I haven't seen many hunters of different ranks."

Of course, Indra is lying about not being able to tell their ranks. It will be strange if he even knows their ranks when he never officially sensed many hunters' magic power, after all.

"The one who lost her finger is a B-Rank archer while the one losing his eyes is a C-Rank Tanker."

"Hmm? How could an archer that should be in the back got hurt this badly? And she is a B-Rank at that. The Tanker is at the front, so it makes sense he got hurt more, but the archer should be at the back, right?"

"That.... We were fighting a lot of Hobgoblins. Their number overwhelmed us by a lot and some managed to slip into our formation. Some of them were aiming for our C-Rank Healer, so I moved to protect her but a Hobgoblin attacked me when I was occupied with another Hobgoblin."

"Hmm, losing a healer is certainly a very bad thing for a raid team, so that's a correct decision. But an archer losing her fingers is very bad."

"Yes, we could only make it back alive because the healer was still there to heal us. But losing my fingers also means losing my future as a hunter. That's why I agreed even though they said you are still just testing your ability."

"Well, I can guarantee my success, but let's try it."

Indra really never regrow a human's organs, but he has regrown monsters' limbs. He used some E-Rank monsters to try it and the result is good. So he is confident he can do it, but he needs to fake his inexperience a little, so he tries to look confused on what to do for a while.

"Hmm, seems like it's possible. It's really strange how I can suddenly know what I must do to regrow these fingers."

Indra casts [Heal] on her fingers and they slowly grow out of nothing. Everyone is smiling widely, especially the female B-Rank archer that also has tears coming out of her eyes. She has given up on continuing to be a hunter, but now she can stay being a hunter.

Then Indra also heals the Tanker's eyes without any trouble. Both of them are very grateful to him for healing them. He just tells them to be more careful and prioritize their safety before leaving the room with the others.

Indra then asks if he can heal all the injured people in this hospital to familiarize himself with his ability and they allow it. After all, it will save more people and they don't need to pay for the service of an S-Rank Hunter. Besides, they also want to see how good an S-Rank Healer's abilities are.

There are many injured hunters in this hospital. Even their A-Rank healer won't be able to heal them all in a day, so they want to know if an S-Rank healer can do it, and they aren't disappointed. He really heals all 69 injured Hunters in that hospital without looking tired at all.
