Chapter 46 - 46. New Experience

"Are there things we need to mind before entering the boss room?"

"Yes, the most important thing is to make sure all team members are in good condition. The boss is much stronger than the normal monsters, so everyone needs to have enough energy and have healed their injuries. Also, it's better if our gears are still in good condition too. But sometimes we don't have the time to rest and check our condition. Sometimes we need to fight the boss even when we are in bad shape like when the time limit for the Gate is approaching or when the boss wanders out of its room which is rare but the casualties are higher when it happens."

"I see. How about it sis? Do you want to rest?"

"No. I still have a lot of energy now."

"What about you guys?"

"We are alright."

"Then, let's get in."

They enter the boss room and finally see the C-Rank dungeon boss. It's a gigantic 2-headed 4-armed blue gorilla.

"So this is a C-Rank dungeon boss. Certainly its magic power is much higher than the normal monsters outside. The amount of magic power is just thrice of the normal monsters, but its magic power feels a lot more ominous."

"You can feel the monsters' magic power?"

"Yeah, I can feel all sources of magic power including Gates and Hunters. This guy's magic power is very different from the normal monsters outside. It only has 3 times the normal monsters' magic power, but the quality is very different. If those guys' magic power feels like air, then this guy's magic power feels like water. I don't know if it's an accurate description, but the point is they have different qualities."

"Does that mean hunters also have different qualities of magic power?"

"Yeah, different ranks have different qualities of magic power. The amount itself is actually not too far apart between ranks. But because their qualities are very different, the magic power measurement device detects them to have very different amounts. Just think of it as air and water in pots of the same sizes. While they have the same volume, they have different amounts of particles. If the water is turned into air, then the volume will surpass the air in the pot by a lot."

"Uh, I think I understand, but also not at the same time."

"Well, it still means higher ranks are much stronger than lower ranks. I just described how I feel the magic power."

Indra and the C-Rank Hunters are staying at the back while Dewi is fighting the boss. She has asked them to let her fight the boss alone. As expected, the boss is much stronger than the normal monsters, so it can withstand Dewi's attack for a while.

But in the end, it still gets killed, and Indra stores its carcass in his system inventory. He has stored all the carcasses in his system inventory too. The others were surprised before, but they get over it quickly because S-Rank Hunters always have strange abilities.

"Where would we dismantle the carcasses?"

"Actually, we can just submit the carcasses. But it's also possible to borrow a room to do it. The Hunter Bureau building has a monster material room that also acts as a dismantling room. There are some cases where we can't dismantle the monsters in dungeons like monster outbreaks or when a lot of parts of the monsters are too valuable."

"Are these gorillas valuable then?"

"Yes, their skin & fur are highly sought for. They aren't just used to create Hunter equipment, but also fashionable clothes. After all, they have a natural blue color which is very different even from natural dye color."

"What about the other parts?"

"The bones can be used to make armor and weapons. But the other parts like blood and meat don't have value because the production class hunters haven't found their usage yet."

Hunters need to know which parts of monsters are valuable so they can dismantle them correctly. It makes Indra think that his Guild will need a dismantling room and a storage room. If they are raiding A-Rank Gates, then all the monster parts will be valuable and they will find magic crystals often.

Indra already has a lot of magic crystals in his system inventory. He can finally take them out later after he makes his Guild. Now he needs to focus on clearing enough dungeons and recruiting hunters.

After clearing the dungeon, they go to the Hunter Bureau to dismantle the monsters. Indra and Dewi are watching the dismantling process that the C-Rank Hunters do to learn it. They are also curious to see the monsters' body parts and structures.

"I thought they would have strange body parts, but they actually look like normal apes inside. Except for having magic cores and each part of their bodies are covered with mana, of course."

"Yes, and they are actually edible. At least for the animal and insect types monsters. Although it's not for everybody."

"What do you mean?"

"Humanoid monsters could be edible, but no one has ever tried them. Or the ones who dared to try them simply didn't report it. After all, while no poison is found in the humanoid type, just the thought of eating monsters that have human-like bodies is revolting."

"I mean what you mean by it's not for everybody?'

"Ah, normal people can't eat monster meat because of the magic power contained in the meat. They can't even chew the meat because it's too tough for them and their stomachs can't process the meat. But Hunters also prefer normal animal meat because the taste of monster meat isn't too good. Maybe it's because we still haven't found good seasonings for the meat yet. But monster meat has some effects like replenishing mana or buffing their power for a period of time. Higher level monsters give better effects, but low level hunters can't eat high level monster meat because they don't have the power to chew the meat, just like how normal people can't even eat low level monster meat."

"Is the meat only used for consumption?"

"No, meat and blood are also used in alchemy to make potions or poison. They are also used as medium to enchant armor and weapons. But I don't know the process."

"Heh, interesting. By the way, you are very knowledgeable about these things."

"That's because I like to learn about Hunters, monsters, and Gates. There is a lot of information regarding those subjects that are shared in the Hunter forum. Too bad that I am just a C-Rank Hunter, so I can't enter higher level Gates to see higher level monsters."

"Indeed. Maybe it would be different if you were an A-Rank Hunter or maybe an alchemist. Even low ranked alchemists should have access to high level monster ingredients because of their job."

"Well, life is never fair. At least I can see quite a lot of low level monsters. I often join D-Rank and E-Rank dungeon raids to see the monsters there."

Indra looks at the C-Rank male Mage that led their team before. He really wants to recruit this guy now because he needs someone knowledgeable about all these things. In the future, he will need someone to teach the newcomers without experience, and he wants this guy to do it.

But he can't be hasty. He needs to know this guy's character first before recruiting this guy. After all, Indra plans to upgrade this guy's power as he has an A-Rank potential. Still, rather than the A-Rank power, Indra wants his knowledge more. His rank is also important though because if a C-Rank teaches an A-Rank, then he will be looked down on.

The dismantling process finishes after 2 hours because there are many carcasses and they have time to do it carefully here, unlike when they were in the dungeons. Indra and Dewi also try to dismantle a monster each, but it's a lot harder than they thought.

Anyway, they sell the materials to the Hunter Bureau. Most Guilds also sell their materials to the Hunter Bureau that then sell them to production Guilds in their country or other countries. It's allowed to sell the materials directly to those Guilds, but there are more procedures, especially regarding tax.

"What?! 30% tax? Are they serious?"

"It's because the Gate was the Hunter Bureau's property. The tax will be at 20% if we raid a C-Rank dungeon we bought ourselves."

"C-Rank dungeon? Does that mean the tax is different for each rank?"

"Yes, higher level dungeons have higher level tax rates. For the bought dungeons, E-Rank dungeon's tax is 10%, D-Rank is 15%, C-Rank is 20%, B-Rank is 25%, and A-Rank is 30%. If the dungeons are owned by The Hunter Bureau, we will get an additional 10% tax."

"Damn!"

"I heard it's actually normal and even on the lower side because there are countries that have higher tax rates."

"Tsk! Fucking Capitalism."
