**Adam Walker's POV**
Not long after I reached the dorms area and to my surprise the instructors were already there trying to calm things down.
To be honest, I felt something was wrong with the attack in the first place.
I mean how can some bunch of rag-tag group of Asuras infiltrate the academy without anyone knowing.
Either there's a traitor or something else is at play here.
As soon as I landed all eyes turned to me, Owen rushed to my side followed by an instructor.
" Oh thank God, I was so worried that something happened to you" he said with visible relief in his tone.
'maybe hell be a great friend after all', I thought.
"Am gonna need you to give a full report about everything from your point of view", the instructor said in a strict tone.
"Yes sir" I replied.
After I gave him a full oral report recording on what happened from my side, he nodded while trying to keep his composure.
'He must have been amazed by how "this daddy" defeated an Asura who was one major rank above me'.
"Dude I didn't know you were this strong" owen exclaimed with a slacked jaw.
"Well what can I say, am just that amazing" I said only to see his eyes go wide.
"And you seem to have gotten more outspoken" he said.
"No that's how i have always been" I said with a straight face.
After a small squabble, he briefed me about the incident.
Apparently, there were casualties, exactly sixteen cadets became history and about twenty were severely injured but nothing a good old healing potion ain't gon fix.
I again thought about how I almost died just a little over ten minutes ago.
The protection people are believed to be under whether in this academy or the federation itself was false.
If humans are not safe from the Asuras, then how can they be safe from other humans.
I went to my room to take a well needed bath but not before ordering some food.
Well guess what, I ended up taking a nap in the bathtub which lasted about two hours.
I thought about training but dismissed that idea, I've had enough of exerting my body this past week.
I needed to relax especially after what happened today.
I sat watching some TV until my smartwatch blinked with a new message. I checked the details which were
" Attention cadets of the special class, The principal will be giving a speech regarding the incident that happened today.
It'll start tomorrow at 9:00 am and the venue is the auditorium where you were briefed on the day of the entrance exam".
'Well, there goes my morning sleep'.
I decided to go to bed early partly because of what happened today and partly because I don't want to take a nap in the bathtub in the morning.
Time passed in a flash and I was on my way to the auditorium.
When I reached there, at least half of the cadets were already there.
I could see the scions I hung out with the day before, except this time Quinn, the second rank was with them.
I simply ignored them as I didn't want any extra attention than I already had.
I also saw Aurora but the moment my eyes fell on her she turned to look at me.
Her dark amethyst eyes bore into me and I felt like my entire being was laid bare before her eyes.
Thankfully the sudden appearance of the principal seemed to take her attention off me.
The principal appeared silently on the podium, his presence making the hall silent as no one wanted to offend the strongest human.
'strongest human my ass, the academy was attacked right under his nose'.
" I know you all are upset and insecure about what happened the day before", he started, his face showing a hurt expression.
"But I assure you can relax your mind and I promise you it won't happen again" he continued.
"What happened today wasn't pleasant but it also opened your eyes to the reality of this world" he said.
"And it's my fault for not being present at the academy during the attack" he continued.
"And for that I apologize" he finished.
-"what about the instructors?" a cadet asked.
-"yeah, aren't they in the academy?, another shouted.
-"best academy?, if I had gone to Polaris it would have been better" said a snobby nosed cadet.
-"yeah at least they weren't attacked in the first week" another supported.
"I assure you I won't let anything like this happen again after all you cadets are the future of the human race". Said the principal.
After he said that, many of the cadets forgot about the dreadful encounter the day before and started sharing smiles filled with pride.
' Really, one sentence to inflate your ego, you've already forgotten what happened yesterday and you're smiling like fools'.
'And I could tell he's also subtly brainwashing them, planting ideas into their heads, but it ain't gon work with me'.
'like now from what he said, some would willingly put their lives at risk just because he called them the future of the human race'.
'some people are so naive that it bordered on stupidity'.
"Considering what happened yesterday must have been taxing on you, there will be no classes tomorrow and the day after that", he said with a smile.
'And he's fully got them, if before about half were smiling, then now almost everyone was.
'l hurriedly went back to my dorm room after the speech and while I might have seen the subtle brainwash the principal was doing, there's no way I'll fall for it.
'but though, I am happy with the two free days.
I knew I was going to spend the next two days relaxing, hell I won't even go out of my room.
That was until my smartwatch started ringing at 5:00 am.
I answered it and instructor Blake's voice echoed " what are you doing, it's already five am and you're not here.
" Ah fuck me" I muttered.
[ A/N: sorry for no update yesterday, I had come up with a particularly nasty flu.]
