"It's fine, so long as I get to hang out with my little Layla. Now then, I am pretty sure that I know where your shop is located, so I'll prepare to send us all there."
"What do you mean you know where my shop is?" asked the Felidae.
"What do you mean by sending us all there?" asked Matt, who had been silent for a very long time.
"The two of you really need to merge your brains into one… Might I remind you both that I am the Ankou, a supernatural being? The laws of normality don't apply to me. Thus, teleportation is my forte, although I can't overuse this Skill with my current condition."
"And as for the Cat Knight, my memory is stocked up with each soul's memories, so remembering your shop is nothing but child's play to me."
"After all, the armor that you produce is known within the Underground Circuit, Teemo Vanderleeden," replied the Ankou as he stressed the last two words.
The cat shivered as he heard his name spoken by the Grim Reaper. He wasn't one to be fearful of dying but something about meeting the Ferryman of the Dead makes the subject a bit more frightening. It was as if Death had the Felidae by the neck…
The Loplin was silent as he began to wonder about how much the Ankou truly knew about their lives. Could it be possible that despite him being anchored, the Grim Reaper still has all of his powers? Or maybe only half of it? And a question still hangs on all of their heads…
Why was the Grim Reaper summoned? To help or for hostile purposes? The Royal Guard had stationed him out to only solve the problem with Tiamat, not have tea with the Grim Reaper. Matt raked his hair in frustration as he faced away from the group.
"Oh… Not to worry, little kitten… it's nowhere near your time yet so you don't have to be afraid of me…" said the Ankou as he creepily approached the Felidae.
"Get the hell away from me! Just because it's not my time yet doesn't mean I can't be freaked out by you! I don't intend to shift my appointment with you to an earlier slot!" shouted the cat in armor as he backed away from the maniacal Grim Reaper.
The Grim Reaper summoned his scythe and got ready to move the group. Layla was busy trying to help the Felidae grab the second sack of Ores while the Loplin stretched his spine.
But as he did, the Ankou walked over and stood next to Matt while facing the opposite direction of him.
"You have yet to tell the Dragoon about your true nature of finding her, Mattheos Rosenberg," whispered the Ankou as his fringe fell forward.
"That trick of saying our real names might work on the fat cat over there but it won't have any effect on me. I've been in Death's arms enough times to feel numb to your voice, though I'm not a fan of it."
"Besides, it doesn't concern you," stated the Loplin, as he closed his eyes and shoved his hands into his coat pocket.
"Oh? Are you sure that it doesn't concern me? Have you forgotten the little deal we've got going on?" taunted the Grim Reaper, as he wiggled his index finger in the air.
"If you're calling waging a person's soul as a little deal, you're really not right in the mind... But yes, I do remember our little deal so you don't have to keep reminding me."
"Ah, that's good. But anyway about Layla... The Dragoon, why don't you tell who you are? Instead of keeping your identity a secret..."
"Why should it be a concern for you? Shouldn't you put in a bit more effort to find out why have you been summoned or how to get out of your predicament?"
"That would mean that I can tell Layla about who you truly are-"
"It is not your story to tell so I suggest you keep your mouth shut. Like I said, I do not fear you as much as you would expect."
"Your arrogance knows no bounds but I will leave it up to fate to teach you about that. After all, that's not my job to do. For now, you are not on the list," said the Ankou as he stabbed his scythe into the ground.
Matt's eyes flashed with fury as he quickly turned around to grab the Grim Reaper's wrist, sparking an expression change on the latter.
"If you know all of our secrets and past, you damn well know why I am keeping my identity from her. If you've been in my head, you'd know the reason and leave it be," growled the Loplin as the Ankou grinned deviously.
