Alex hastened his steps, secretly trailing behind her just in case he turned out to be wrong. But in the end, he wasn't. He stood and watched Caily ring his doorbell.
That was when his eyes shifted to her car on his driveway and he realized that was the reason why she was here.
"Caily?" Alex called, pacing towards her,
Caily swung around to face him, slightly stunned.
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked, and immediately chided himself for asking a question he already knew the answer to,
"I'm here to get my car," Caily replied, "And I just wanted to let you know before I take it so you won't think it was stolen or something,"
Alex nudged his head, "Oh—Yeah. Very…uh, very good…um… very good thinking," He concluded with a fake chuckle. Alex felt like a fool for slurring so much when he wasn't even drunk,
