"Em—Emily?" Caily's voice trembled,
On hearing her voice, "Caily?" Emily jerked away from Alex, "Wha—What are you doing here?" Her voice cracked with guilt or whatever it was.
Why was she suddenly feeling shitty like Caily had walked in on her doing something despicable with Alex? She was just hugging him and Alex really needed that consolation.
The room fell into dead silence. Emily pondered slightly on how Caily walked in without any of them realizing. Were both of them that caught up in the moment? Damn!
Alex stood in a corner, he looked pretty relaxed, unlike Emily, with his hands tucked in his pockets. He glanced up and met Caily's eyes staring judgingly at him.
"It's not what you are thinking, Caily," He hummed. It was not the best time and obviously not the best circumstances whatsoever but he was glad to see her so he smiled at her.
