Chapter 1 - The Burning Flames: The Beginning of Hell.

...Wake up..

..Wake up now..

..He is watching.. open your eyes and wake up..

"WAKE UP THEO SMITH!" the guy in a military uniform seems rather vague in my eyes. It's blurry, and the smoke is covering the area. It's hard to breath.

"..Commander..?" I finally see his face, clear. He looks mad? Or concern? I could not grasp his expression yet. He is crouching down next to me, with an empty shotgun in his hand. The shotgun's mana must've deplete.

"Snap out of it and grab the gun now! They're coming this way!" Even with such loud voice, I still can't hear him clearly. Did I burst my eardrums?

He grabs my right arm and pulls me back up. Everything is destroyed, the moment I get back on my feet and clear my mind. There are fires everywhere.

A machine, about eight meters tall. It's heading this way, and I can see it's red glowing light. I snap back to reality when I see the machine. I'm nervous, and sweating.

'It's heading this way! I'm done! I'm..' my hand starts to tremble. I will die at this rate. The commander notices and immediately grabs my hand as he gives me reassuring words. He told me to grab any weapon on me and run away.

I know I shouldn't. I'm a soldier, I shouldn't run, out of fear. But deep down, I'm scared. I fear death, as I still want to live. The commander insists me to leave him there and run, but how could I ever do that? He doesn't even have anything to fight with, his shotgun ran out of mana, and he himself has a deep wound on his right shoulder.

"Stop being stubborn and leave me here. Everyone else have been injured badly, we can't even walk anymore. You have light injuries, so you should at least survive." Those words doesn't calm me down, rather it makes me even more anxious.

"Leave us be," he smiles at his dying breath, placing his hand on my shoulder.

It hits me hard. The reality of our situation.

The moment he smiles, I couldn't take it anymore and ended up running away. I bring a blade with me, and never look back. I don't want to see his face anymore, the forced smile he put up just to convince me, is haunting...

I run deep into the forest, through the bushes. Even when I get scratches from the thorns in the bushes, I keep on running.

It hurts to run, knowing damn well that I'm leaving my teammates behind.

My legs are starting to hurt, and my body is getting sore. I'm exhausted and my head is spinning. I don't know where I'm heading but I keep on running for my life. I fall to the ground when my legs give up on me. My whole body is hurting yet I still keep on moving forward even if I have to crawl.

I'm full of mud, and blood. The smell is making me nauseous, and I'm getting dizzy. I keep crawling until my hands give up on me too. I can't move anymore. I'm tired, I didn't even notice myself tearing up. It sucks.

The pain in my heart is killing me, I ended up crying like a child. My face got buried into the mud and I couldn't let out a single sound. I use up my energy on crying and now I can't even think. The world is fading..

In my eyes, its no longer bright. All fuzzy.

'I'm sorry...'

The last thing I uttered, before my vision gone black completely.

[...Live for us. You'll be fine even if you're alone....]
