"Everyone! Get ready. We will be heading out in a few minutes," Commander from Unit 125 starts to command his unit. It's time to clear the area around the Western Regiment. The military base was almost wiped out, so the North is responsible for clearing the area and search for the survivors now.
Unit 125 Commander turns to look at the guy wearing a cloak and approach him. The commander wishes to introduce himself properly.
"Private William James right? I'm Commander Henry from Unit 125, the unit you're under currently," he said in an approachable tone.
Private 'William James' stares at him. 'William James... huh'
"You.. are pretty friendly for a commander that leads people to war," 'William James' answered with a distant expression. He is not one to act friendly to others who he has suspicions with.
"I'm not at all friendly. I just need you to prepare yourself and get ready, since you just came back-..." Commander Henry closes his mouth as he thinks to himself whether he should say it to 'William James' or not.
But he decided that he shouldn't mention about the massacre. It would be harder if that guy in front of him suddenly had a panic attack and PTSD.
"Nevermind. Just come out of the tent after you finished preparing," Commander Henry heads out of the tent immediately after. 'William James' glares at the commander's back before he turns to take his weapons.
He also heads out of the tent and walks to the other member of Unit 125. He can feel everyone's eyes on him. It must've been because of the cloak he's wearing. It would not be appropriate to cover the military badge as it would be considered as disrespectful, but 'William James'... Theo knows what he is doing.
"Why is that guy wearing a cloak? That's disrespectful," "Don't you know? He is 'William James', the one that survived the massacre.." "Really? Then maybe he wears that to cover his scars huh?"
Theo can hear everything, every single words that they utter can be heard by him. His ears that were damaged have healed. He's sure that Unit 125 doesn't know about the fact that he heals quickly. He is aware of his abnormal condition. They probably thought that his ears have been damaged permanently.
Theo blends in with everyone and keeps himself quiet. The North prepare multiple guns that requires mana. Theo has been observing their weapon choice from the first time he was appointed under Unit 109. It was odd to him since the South usually use guns that requires metal bullets.
He didn't say anything about it to them. The weakness of mana guns, the fact that it requires sorcery to handle it better, or take control of the battle if they wished to use it. He kept himself quiet back then, and lost his teammates because of it.
He questioned to himself of whether he should tell them or not. But would they even believe him? He dislikes the Northern higher ups, but not its soldiers. He decided to keep it to himself for the time being. He should at least inform General Robert first before anything.
After they had prepare themselves, the troops head out to the West according to the plan.
