Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

That day, when her mind was already in a frenzy, his naivety had only increased her disruption. It left her astounded and agitated.

The disruption continued throughout the day, like the burning sun, leaving her to overthink.

Sitting on the couch of her apartment, smoking for some release, she was once again rethinking the moment when he slipped by her side as if she had been there a moment ago and disappeared when he neared her.

After that moment, he did not bother to show his face to her throughout the whole day, like they never had sex or even met. She did not even get to see his face at the end of the day.

It shouldn't have bothered her. After all, it was what she desired. She wanted nothing to do with him other than see him on his knees before her.

She simply wanted to see the expressions she had seen in her dreams. But her mind was proving her otherwise with the running thoughts of him.

She could not help but wonder why did he that. It was true, she had asked him to stay away and wait for her, but she did not expect him to really perform that action.

She assumed that he will keep on lingering on her and that assumption still hadn't left her mind as her eyes kept checking her phone for a text from him.

But there was no text or call from him.

Why was he being like that all of a sudden?

"I'm just doing what you told me to. Why are you tense?" His voice suddenly echoed in the living room, like a godly tone, along with his footsteps coming from the main door.

What was he doing there? She had not asked him to come.

"What are you doing here?" Discarding the cigarette on the ashtray, she hustled to his tone with her astounded features, which she quickly tried to soothe down.

Regarding the hustle on her face, a soft smile clouded his face. It amused him. "You should ask what's really going on in your mind."

Disturbance had taken over her by his words and that smug smile on his face, which halted before her and kneeled down.

"If you did not want me to stay away from you, why did you tell me to?" With eyes that never changed the adorable color of them, he looked up at her, reaching to her thighs with her reluctant hands.

His gentle touch alarmed her senses and urged a peculiar calmness yet disruption inside her, making her squeeze her eyes tight and gasp for air.

"You should accept what you feel for me." His tone was unusually calm and sophisticated, accompanying his demeanor. He was never like that, calm and confident.

What had happened to him?

"Why are you running from me?" He landed another question in her disturbed mind, only to enrage her.

She pushed his hands aside and paused her fluttering eyes at him, altering the unstable look to darkness. "What are you talking about?"

"You know what I'm talking about." Almost like whispers, his tone sounded contained and eerie, which jolted her fake calmness. "You don't just want me to be your sex partner. You want more."

And she boomed, quickly standing up, "What kind of nonsense are you spouting?" She took a few steps and stood with her back against his sitting body, finding it unable to look at his face.

"Do I scare you, Leena?" Her name, from his lips.

She heard him say her name like a bold statement, and with such serenity on top. What was he really planning to do?

With no words as an answer, she stood frozen on her spot, rushing within herself when he suddenly appeared before her eyes. Calm and unaffected.

His hand softly grazed her cheek like the warmest season, his eyes not anymore shy. "I must scare you a lot to make you act like this."

"Stop." She whispered as she felt her blood rush like a storm inside her.

His touch on her cheek was warming her body, urging her senses to melt down yet she was in full control of herself.

She needed his hand removed, as quickly as possible, but she could not word the urgency. It was the unseen effect of him.

"Do I make you feel powerless?" He questioned ahead, ignoring her words. He was too immersed by the look on her face.

It was the very first time he was seeing such an expression rise on her features, making her appear like a fragile woman for the first time.

"I said stop." A simple response arose from her lips, while she clenched her fists tight, thriving to console her thumping heart.

"What is it about me that made you like this?" He was ignoring her words like they weren't there to echo in his ears, almost like he was the only one who had a voice in that play.

"I said stop." Unable to stand his altered demeanor any longer, she pushed his hand aside from her cheek, with more force than before, just to see him smirk wider.

"You love me don't you?" He whispered so close to her lips and mocked her once again, finally pushing her to the edge where she pushed his chest with much more strength.

And suddenly her eyes stood wide awake. Almost like awake from the dead.

She found herself sitting on the couch, breathing heavily as if she had run a mile and gazed here and there, like a baby who was just born.

The cigarette was still burning, on the ass tray, for alteration in the picture. She was still wearing the clothes, she wore to college.

The bag was on the couch, beside her, right where she had left it. And he was nowhere.

It was a dream!

A dream of him that she thought would never occur again. But once again, she was dreaming of him. The only difference is that he was a changed person.

He was asking questions. He could look right into her eyes and was confident, unlike him.

What had happened to him? Or, what had happened to her?
