"Medical expenses? Compensation?" An Xiaomian heard the voice and suddenly remembered something. Ignoring the pain wracking her body, she quickly reached out, seized the person squatting down to talk to her, and shook her head vigorously, "I won't go to the hospital. If you're going to give me medical expenses and compensation, just give me cash, please?"
She was still thinking about where to borrow money to treat her grandmother. Now that she had been accidentally hit, and the person responsible didn't flee and was willing to pay, she naturally didn't want to treat herself. She would rather use the money to treat her grandmother.
The bodyguard hadn't expected the little girl to say something like this and began to suspect her. This girl couldn't possibly be a scammer, could she?
As a result, the bodyguard's face darkened, and he pried An Xiaomian's hand off before walking back to consult with his young master.
Seeing the bodyguard about to leave, An Xiaomian panicked. She feared he would just walk away. Disregarding the pain in her body, she too got up and staggered after him. The pouring rain washed the blood from her body, leaving the ground stained with red.
She forgot that the wound on her knee was somewhat large. So, when she got to the side of the car, she accidentally fell into the vehicle with the door open.
The bodyguard, about to open the door and ask the gentleman behind him, suddenly saw the girl lunging forward and landing right at the feet of his young master, completely shocking him.
An Xiaomian had fallen at someone's feet. Seeing the leather shoes the person wore, she knew his status must be no ordinary one. The person who had gotten out and spoken to her might well have been the driver; thus, this man must be the owner of the car. Fearing the driver wouldn't agree to her terms, she suddenly reached out and grabbed a handful of trouser leg, crying and pleading, "Sir, your driver hit me. Can you not send me to the hospital and just give me the money instead?"
She knew her request was quite odd, almost like blackmail or a scam, but she was truly out of options.
The man had been frowning, holding back the heat in his body, but suddenly, a tender young girl seized his trouser leg. She looked up with her delicate little face, crying and begging him, and he felt an inexplicable urge to relent.
But he still furrowed his brows deeply and kicked her away in disgust, "Get lost!"
An Xiaomian was kicked out of the car, falling to the ground as the rain once again drenched her. Rain obscured her vision, and she could barely make out what was in front of her.
But she paid no heed to her injuries and lunged back into the car again, "Sir, please help me this once. Your driver just said he would take me to the hospital. My injuries are real. I just don't want to go there. Could you give me cash instead?"
"Eagle, drag her away!" The man inside the car yelled irritably at the driver and the person outside.
Eagle, hearing his name, quickly reached out to grab An Xiaomian and pull her away.
An Xiaomian used all her strength to throw herself into the car, tightly grabbing something on the man, crying out, "Sir, I'm not scamming you, please..."
She hadn't finished speaking when she suddenly felt something amiss in the atmosphere around her.
And what her hands had found felt strangely wrong to the touch.
She hesitated for a moment, then from above her head, she heard hurried and stifled breathing. The man's voice, angry and repressed, sounded frighteningly intimidating, "Woman, do you know what you've grabbed? Let go now unless you want to die!"
