William's voice broke Scylla's thoughts as he nudged her, pointing at Lila, the Elven Hero, struggling against a horde of demons. "Shouldn't you help her?"
Scylla glanced at Lila, then back at William. "She doesn't like it when I help her," she replied with a shrug.
"Quite the stubborn one," William muttered, recalling his own hero and feeling a sense of resignation. Are all heroes this troublesome? he wondered, watching Lila fight fiercely.
After half an hour, Lila finally managed to freeze all the demons attacking her, leaving a path of headless corpses in her wake. She glanced at Scylla and then at William, who stood watching her.
"Did you fall in love with me?" William asked, his tone teasing as he looked at her.
"Hairless monkey," Lila spat, turning her head away in disdain and moving on without a second glance.
William's mouth hung open, stunned by the unexpected insult. He looked at Scylla, who wore an apologetic expression.
