Both in his past life and this new life, Sol considered attention as an important form of power that all men who want to succeed must seek. Attention served as a shield and a sword, with his recovery broadcasted to the people of the sixth tribe, he was providing them with hope while in exchange, he would receive protection.
According to Chamberlain, after the death of the sixth tribe Kahi'k, the people of the sixth tribe were treated like outcasts within the Ark family while outside the Ark family, they were treated like traitors by other alpha families.
The news of his recovery and how he sent the other Kahi'ks packing would not only boost their diminishing morale, but it would also earn him their favor. Finally, the news of his intentions to take part in the rite of awakening was meant to manipulate them emotionally, especially when everyone knew the effects of the seal placed on him and the high possibility of death should he follow through with this.
The picture he was trying to portray was a son, trying to fill his father's shoes and protect the pride of his people, even at the cost of his life. Should he succeed, this act alone will gain him the acceptance of the people, while also dispelling the hatred in the hearts of the people towards him for being a product of a forbidden relationship.
"In time they will come to adore and accept me." Sol said absentmindedly while enjoying the beautiful scenery from the balcony of his room.
At that moment, Chamberlain walked in with a rare look of excitement. He seemed impatient to share the news with Sol, his actions reminding Sol of a five-year-old who just found something exciting and wanted to share it with his parents.
"You seem in a good mood today. What happened?' Sol asked in a leveled tone.
"It's the Infernal General Kane! He has declared he will be present for your awakening ceremony, alongside the high council of flames and practically every member of the sixth tribe!" Chamberlain's smile grew wider as he spoke.
Sol remained unfazed by his words, especially since he really didn't know who the Infernal General or the High Council of Flames was. The indifference on his face soon fizzled out the excitement Chamberlain felt, replacing it with disbelief.
"Don't tell me you don't know…" Chamberlain stood midway and facepalmed.
He knew Sol's memory was messed up, but now it felt like he had forgotten everything he knew since he was born. Well, he couldn't blame Sol since it wasn't his fault, at least that was what he believed.
"Every Kahi'k has an Infernal General on their side. They are tier three Ember sages who control the forces of the tribe." Chamberlain explained. "The approval of the Infernal General is no different from the absolute loyalty of the army!"
Contrary to Chamberlain's expectations, Sol frowned upon hearing this. Back on earth, history has shown what happens to kings in a kingdom where the general has too much influence.
Empires are overthrown and entire royal lineages get wiped out!
'I will have to deal with this later' Sol did well to mask his displeasure with false excitement.
"Really? That's great news!" he said with a bright smile.
Chamberlain was left wondering if he had gotten so old his mind was playing tricks on him. For a moment, he was certain he saw hostility in Sol's eyes. Seeing the excitement in his eyes now, Chamberlain abandoned that thought and continued his explanation.
"The High Council of Flames comprises the most esteemed and experienced members of the Ark race chosen to advise and assist the Kahi'k's." Chamberlain walked over to Sol's side with even more excitement in their eyes.
"I am guessing each tribe has a representative in the council. If all of them are gathering for this event, it means they are here to see whether I succeed or fail." Sol rubbed his chin with a thoughtful look. "Interesting. Now I'm more motivated to succeed."
He walked past Chamberlain and headed into his room, while the old butler followed him. For some reason, he couldn't help but feel that this was the intention of his younger master, who seemed to have changed considerably after coming out of his coma.
"What now?" He couldn't help but ask instinctively.
"What now? Go ahead and prepare everything necessary for the rite of awakening." Sol waved Chamberlain off as he moved over to his study desk and pulled out the chair.
Chamberlain felt confused as he watched Sol take a sit and pull out the former Kahi'k's journal from his drawer. His eyes showed interest, but he soon reigned his thoughts, since he wasn't qualified to know what was written within.
"We already gained the attention we needed, all we have to do now is wait and pray I succeed in awakening. Only then can we take the next step forward." Sol explained after noticing the confusion on his butler's face.
The old butler nodded at his words, but wasn't yet convinced. He had expected Sol to have a plan, at least one that would help improve his chances of surviving the rite of awakening. Wouldn't it be counter-productive if he died in the presence of the entire sixth tribe?
He wasn't sure if the people would be able to take another heavy blow like this.
"I was thinking you would have a plan to help improve your chances of surviving the ritual." Chamberlain decided to speak his mind.
However, his words were met with a good laugh from Sol.
"Do you know a way?" Sol asked with a raised eyebrow.
The old man frowned deeply while pondering concerning the matter. He knew herbs and medications used to boost one's potential and groom them for the awakening ritual, but he didn't know anything that could stop the effects of the seal on Sol.
What the hell, the seal was placed on him by a tier five Grand Arcanist, the highest level of power a witch or warlock can attain. How can a few herbs and painkillers stop it?
"I know none." Chamberlain shrugged his shoulders with his head lowered.
Sol simply chuckled at the childlike behavior of the old man and paid no more attention to him.
"I am not a miracle worker. All we can do is wait and hope my resolve will help me pull through this situation." He left the old Butler with those final words before focusing on the journal.
