Louis's excitement died down just as fast as it came the moment he realized he could just make minor movements.
Outside that, he was still paralyzed!
'At least I can move my head a bit and understand my surroundings.' Louis thought as he began looking around the room.
As Louis observed his surroundings, he was greeted by a scene he could have sworn came from a novel. The walls weren't painted, revealing layers of brick stacked upon each other.
At the center of the room was a magnificent four-poster bed crafted from the finest mahogany, draped in sumptuous silks and brocades of royal blue and gold. If it wasn't for the quality of the bed and sheets, Louis would have believed the owner of this body was poor.
'Starting over poor again after owning over a fifty billion dollar net worth would be too harsh even for the heavens.' Louis sighed.
Alongside the bed, there were matching bedside tables each adorned with sophisticated lamps casting a soft, golden light while rich velvet curtains framed the chamber's windows.
A regal writing desk stood against one wall, its surface adorned with quill pens, parchment scrolls, and an inkwell of gleaming silver.
Nearby, a plush seating area with cushioned armchairs and a low table set. The plain chamber's walls are adorned with exquisite artwork and tapestries, while ornate rugs cover the polished stone floor, muffling the footsteps of the servants running around the room.
In one corner, a roaring fireplace crackled merrily, casting dancing shadows across the room. After observing the fireplace, Louis sighed and looked towards the ceiling again with a heavy look in his eyes.
'The good news is that I'm alive and safe, these people don't seem like they plan to harm me, but the bad news is that I think I'm in the wrong timeline.' Louis concluded.
The fireplace, ornaments, and items in the room were enough to tell him he was no longer in the age of private jets and Skyscrapers. He had either gone back in time or been forced to live in a different world in a different timeline.
"Everyone leaves, except for the old man." Louis finally spoke up, this act alone excited the maids.
Louis watched as they all bowed with smiles on their faces before running off. This left Louis wondering about the background of the body he was inhabiting that could garner so much loyalty from people.
"Young master, I'll open the windows and let some fresh air get in." The old man said as he rose to his feet and walked towards the red curtain and opened it up without a second thought.
Louis was going to dissuade him, but before he could speak, the window was opened and the fierce sun rays invaded the room.
'How the hell did he get over there that fast?'' Louis was shaken by what he had just witnessed.
While this old man seemed normal, his footsteps were almost non-existent. Even with his enhanced hearing, he couldn't hear it, but what was more terrifying was the way the old man moved.
He moved too fast for someone his age, which made him look like he was sliding forward.
"Do you remember me?" The old man asked as he walked back to Louis's bed and sat next to him.
"I asked you to stay back exactly for this reason." Luke shook his head while speaking.
He had expected some sort of reaction from the old man, but he seemed strangely calm as if he had been expecting that response.
"The Immortal blood-shattering seal does live up to its reputation." The old man mumbled, his face lowered, but Louis heard him clearly.
"What do you mean by that?" Louis asked while trying to move, but his body wouldn't budge.
At best, he could only move a finger or two alongside his head movements, and this left him frustrated.
"After the death of your parents, you were branded with the immortal blood-shattering seal. " The old man seemed pained as he narrated the story. "This seal is designed to suppress a person's bloodline power, however when used on a child of your age the adverse effects can be deadly."
While his words allowed Louis to get a general understanding of what was going wrong with him, it still left him far more confused.
'Who the hell taught these people how to tell stories?' Louis rolled his eyes.
Why were his parents killed?
Why was the seal placed on him?
Why the hell would this man start the story from the middle?
Louis calmed himself and inhaled deeply before turning back to meet the old man's gaze.
"Start from the very beginning and leave out no detail." He said in a stern tone, which sounded weird since it came from the body of a teenager.
Seeing the look in Louis' eyes, the old man sighed and began narrating the story. According to him, the Ark family was not a part of Aetheria, in truth they were a new supernatural race altogether. Birthed from the adulterous actions of a beautiful human woman who was said to have dabbled in witchcraft.
She studied dark magic and attempted to summon the demons of hell to do her bidding. Her first attempt turned out successful, and the demon she summoned was instantly charmed by her beauty and elegance. It is said that requesting the help of nether creatures attracts a fine depending on the difficulty of the task, however, the demon she summoned did not ask for anything in return.
In fact, the demon became a constant in her life, running even the littlest errand for the lady, and when news of this act reached the nether realm, the entire underworld was thrown into an uproar. Curiosity got the best of a few demons and one after the other, they began sneaking out of the underworld just to catch a glimpse of this lady.
It was said that tales of her beauty began to spread within the nether realm and with time these stories reached the ears of the upper-echelon demons
