Chapter 1 - The Apocalypse Strikes

Dylan opened his eyes, feeling refreshed!

A beautiful young lady, dressed in half of a flight attendant uniform, was lying on the bed.

Dylan was taken aback. Wasn't he supposed to have died in the apocalypse?

He vividly remembered the onslaught of the apocalypse, the devastating blow to all of humanity.

Natural disasters and zombies ravaged, and human civilization teetered on the brink of destruction.

And he had unexpectedly gained spatial abilities, barely surviving in the apocalypse for three years.

But in the end, he was still attacked by mutated creatures.

In that instant, Dylan was suddenly engulfed in a white light.

When he opened his eyes again, it was this wow!

He carefully examined the young lady.

Hmm? She looked familiar, the uniform tempting?

Was he dreaming?

Dylan couldn't help but smile bitterly. How repressed was his life in the apocalypse that he dreamt of a flight attendant on his deathbed?

"Dylan, young master, what's wrong with you?"

The young lady, her eyes blurred, asked in confusion when she noticed Dylan's lack of response.

Before Dylan could react, the flight attendant turned over.

So proactive?

Dylan's mind couldn't keep up a bit, but he didn't refuse!

Suddenly, Dylan reached out his hand forward and felt a sting.

He felt a pang of pain.

Hmm? Feeling pain?

This isn't a dream? I'm not dead?

He quickly turned the young lady over, only to see the badge on her uniform fall off.

It turned out the badge's pin pricked his hand.

In the bewildered gaze of the young lady, he picked up the badge and saw the name "Bonnie" and a number engraved on it.

"Bonnie?"

"Damn it!"

Dylan remembered, wasn't this the flight attendant he flirted with before the apocalypse!

He quickly glanced behind him, and outside the oval window, the bright moonlight illuminated thick clouds.Oh my goodness, isn't this the first and last time I played airplane shake before the apocalypse!

He quickly found his pants and pulled out his phone from inside.

"Oh dear, Dylan young master, I knew you were going to start recording again!" the flight attendant named Bonnie exclaimed, covering her face in embarrassment.

Ignoring her, Dylan just quickly opened his phone.

Looking at the date on the phone screen, Dylan was shocked.

Date displayed: June 21, 2032, 12:00 AM.

He actually rebirthed back to ten days before the apocalypse struck!

Doesn't that mean he has plenty of time to prepare for the impending apocalypse?

Suddenly, he remembered something and quickly lifted his left arm to take a careful look, but there was nothing there.

But Dylan knew that when the apocalypse arrived, there would be a sudden sting in his brow, followed by a row of numbers appearing on his left arm.

The numbers represent the energy remaining in the body, displayed in the form of years, days, hours, minutes, and seconds, but it's essentially a countdown.

In the apocalypse, everyone would receive energy enough to survive for a year, but it doesn't mean they can only survive for a year.

This energy is tradable; as long as two people hold hands with their left hands, they can use their minds to transfer the values they want to trade with each other.

Once the energy is depleted, no matter how capable you are, you will die instantly.

On the contrary, the more energy you have, not only will your life span increase, but your physique will also become very powerful.

In a situation without weapons, a person with 100 years of energy can easily kill someone with only 1 year of energy, that's the difference.

Moreover, when a person's energy reaches over ten thousand years, conventional firearms won't harm them.

So, in the apocalypse, money is worthless; this energy is the real hard currency.

After all, time is life, is strength.

However, this energy cannot be forcibly plundered; it can only be transferred actively by the other party using their mind.

And if you kill the other person, their time energy will disappear completely, which is simply wasteful.

Of course, there is a way to plunder if one wishes.

That is to somehow get the other person bitten by zombies. Once they turn into zombies, their remaining energy will condense into a cylindrical object resembling a battery at their brow.

After killing the zombie and retrieving it, one can replenish their own energy.

However, this method is very dangerous because once a person turns into a zombie, they are harder to deal with than ordinary people. Carelessness could result in one's own death.

Before Dylan's rebirth, he had accumulated energy for thousands of years.

Unfortunately, after rebirth, it all disappeared.Although he felt regretful, Dylan wasn't worried. With his experience, he had enough ability to regain what he lost and perhaps even more.

Moreover, a thousand years of time energy wasn't much.

If human physique levels were divided based on time energy:

0-9 years would be level one.

10-99 years would be level two.

100-999 years would be level three.

1000-9999 years would be level four.

...

1 billion-9 billion years would be level nine.

And Dylan, in his previous life, had barely entered the threshold of level four.

It could be said that he was trash in the later stages of the apocalypse.

This was the price of choosing to survive.

It seemed like he thought of something again, Dylan quickly closed his eyes.

Moments later, Dylan was ecstatic.

His spatial ability hadn't disappeared.

After the apocalypse, all humans would awaken some kind of ability; it was just a matter of sooner or later.

Abilities were varied, ranging from combat-oriented, magic-oriented, to some special abilities.

Some people awakened extremely rare special abilities, even unique ones.

Just like Dylan's spatial ability, he hadn't heard of anyone else awakening it.

Of course, it was also possible that there were others like him who didn't want others to know.

Abilities could be upgraded, but they required crystals found inside mutated animals.

There were a total of nine levels of abilities, and Dylan had only reached level five.

The space had indeed expanded, enough to accommodate ten football fields, but there wasn't much change otherwise.

Dylan always felt that his ability was quite useless, aside from being able to store more things, it had no other practical use.

In the apocalypse, resources were extremely scarce, so what was the use of having a larger space?

That feeling was as uncomfortable as having no money in a bank account!

Now, before the arrival of doomsday, he already possessed a spatial ability.

Haha! It was simply incredible! In his previous life, Dylan stumbled upon a small supermarket by chance and stored all the supplies in his space.

The supplies were not abundant, but with some wild vegetables and game, it was enough to sustain him frugally for three years.

This made him more cautious, never daring to casually team up with others, so he chose to go it alone.

There was no way around it; in the apocalypse, resources were the scarcest commodity.

Even a packet of expired instant noodles could lead to fierce conflict, even costing lives.

He dared not imagine what others would think if they knew about his spatial abilities.

Dylan also knew that in the apocalypse, joining a team would increase his chances of survival.

However, as long as you were not a core member of the team, you would only be treated as cannon fodder.

Therefore, having a core team of his own was really important.

Without a team, he might end up dying at the hands of monsters, making his rebirth meaningless.

Since fate had given him a second chance, he naturally had to make adequate preparations.

He first needed to use these ten days to stockpile enough supplies; the more, the better.

As for the team, there was no rush; he didn't particularly care for just any ordinary person.

He wanted to recruit some impressive individuals he had encountered in his past life.

That way, his rebirth wouldn't be in vain.
