Chapter 2 - Rebirth

Now everything is ready, just lacking money.

A smirk formed at the corner of Dylan's mouth as he snorted coldly.

Returning to Bluewater Bay this time was all about the money!

In his previous life, he had been played by his stepmother and his half-brother, and he hadn't received a single penny until the apocalypse arrived.

Six hours later, the plane landed.

Inside the first-class cabin, Dylan went through various motions.

"Dylan, young master, I have to fly back now, so I won't accompany you. Remember to contact me! I belong to only you from now on!"

Bonnie helped Dylan tidy up his clothes, smiled coquettishly, and whispered softly in Dylan's ear.

Dylan glanced at Bonnie's nametag and the unbuttoned collar, smiling faintly.

"Alright, darling, I'm just back to handle some business. I'll contact you after I'm done!"

Dylan didn't tell Bonnie about the impending apocalypse;

she was just a passing fancy in Dylan's life.

However, since he was reborn, he decided to remind Bonnie one day before the apocalypse.

It could be considered as fulfilling their companionship.

"Good luck, girl!"

...

Inside a villa in Bluewater Bay, when Dylan arrived, there were already six or seven people seated in the living room.

His stepmother, Belinda, and his half-brother, Fitzwilliam, looked indifferent upon seeing him, not even bothering to greet him, as if they held some deep grudge against him.

"Dylan Thompson, you're back. Please have a seat. Bernard, the lawyer, has been waiting for you for a while!"

A middle-aged man stood up and greeted Dylan.

Dylan didn't even need to look to know it was his father's close friend, Dominic.

Seeing Dylan ignoring him, Dominic continued, "Dylan, I shouldn't have come to this occasion, but since I was your father's best friend, I came to witness."

Dylan ignored him again and directly addressed the lawyer across from him, "Bernard, the lawyer, you can announce my father's will now!"

Bernard, the lawyer, who had notified Dylan to come back, was someone Dylan recognized through video calls.

Bernard stood up and glanced at Belinda, Fitzwilliam, and Dylan.

"Mrs. Belinda, Mr. Fitzwilliam, and Mr. Dylan Thompson, I am Bernard, the lawyer entrusted by Chairman Ethan Thompson before his disappearance.

The two people behind me are notaries from the notary office.

According to Chairman Ethan's will, if he were to have an accident, all his personal assets would be distributed as follows: Mr. Dylan would inherit all the shares of the group, while Mrs. Belinda and Mr. Fitzwilliam would jointly inherit two villas and a deposit of $2 billion!"

Dylan heard this without any surprise; it was something he had known from his previous life.

But Belinda and Fitzwilliam were shocked, and even Dominic frowned.

"Impossible, has Bernard, the lawyer, made a mistake?" Belinda was the first to speak up.

Bernard, the lawyer, remained expressionless as the two notaries placed the paper will and the phone on the table.

"These are the written and video proofs of the will. Mrs. Thompson can verify them herself!"

Belinda quickly took the will, carefully read it several times, and then played the video. Afterward, she slumped down onto the couch in despair.

"Is this a joke? My father didn't leave me any of the $20 billion worth of shares from the group?"

Fitzwilliam, sitting beside her, couldn't sit still either, angrily looking at Dylan as if all this was caused by his half-brother.

Though $2 billion in deposits wasn't a small amount, compared to the $20 billion worth of shares, it felt a bit lacking.

Dylan looked coldly at their reactions and said nothing."All right, the will has been announced, and next, I and the notaries will be responsible for supervising the execution.

We hope everyone can cooperate with our work!" Bernard, seeing no objections, prepared to proceed with the execution phase.

"Wait a moment! Bernard, the lawyer, this transfer of shares is of great importance.

Since Chairman Ethan is no longer with us, as the second-largest shareholder of the group, I feel it's necessary to inform the other board members first to avoid internal conflicts within the group."

Dominic, standing beside them, quickly stood up and addressed Bernard before turning to Dylan.

"Besides, Dylan has been studying abroad all this time and isn't familiar with the internal affairs of the group. The affairs of the group have been managed by his stepmother, Belinda, and his brother, Fitzwilliam.

So, I would like to request some time for us to handle this matter.

What do you say, Dylan?"

Dylan looked at Dominic, who appeared sincere, but inwardly, Dylan couldn't help but sneer.

In his previous life, it was Dominic, in cahoots with his stepmother Belinda, who made all sorts of excuses to avoid Dylan inheriting the inheritance, resulting in Dylan not receiving a penny before the apocalypse.

When the apocalypse came, his stepmother Belinda and his brother Fitzwilliam even used the excuse that the villa and the deposit belonged to them, driving him out of the house.

This led to Dylan being forced to wander the streets and nearly freezing to death in the super cold waves.

Dylan was itching with hatred, but this time, he wouldn't let the tragedy of his previous life repeat itself.

Seeing Dominic's words, Belinda suddenly changed her expression, smiling, "Yes, Dylan. I'm afraid that if you suddenly take over, there may be internal dissent within the group.

Mommy will pave the way for you first. After all, you wouldn't want to see any mishaps in the group founded by your father, right?"

This seemingly concerned statement was actually filled with threats.

Dylan suddenly laughed. "You've played your roles quite well, it's my turn now."

He wouldn't compete with them for those useless shares.

With only ten days left, there was no time to liquidate them, not to mention their interference!

What he could immediately get his hands on was what truly belonged to him.

"Mommy, actually, there's no need for such trouble. Since you and Fitzwilliam are managing the group, I won't participate.

How about this, I'll inherit the villa and the $2 billion deposit, and you can inherit the shares of the group?"

As soon as Dylan said this, everyone was stunned.

This kid, could he be a fool?!

Belinda thought Dylan was playing some trick and asked cautiously, "What do you mean?"

Dylan chuckled, "Mommy, no need to be nervous. If you don't believe me, Bernard, the lawyer, and the notaries are all here and can bear witness to this. As long as you agree, we can sign the agreement immediately!"

Bernard and the others were stunned again. Was this kid out of his mind? That's worth $20 billion!

"Is this for real?""Dominic couldn't wait to stand up and blurted out, seeming to feel that his reaction was a bit abrupt.

He quickly chuckled and said, 'If that's the case, things are easy.

Anyway, you're all family, so how to divide it is your business.

But if we do as Dylan says, it can save us a lot of trouble!'"

Dylan couldn't be bothered with him and looked at Belinda and Fitzwilliam.

"So, Mommy? Little brother?"

Belinda still wasn't at ease and asked suspiciously, "Do you have any other conditions?"

After all, it felt too good to be true that their side had gained such a huge advantage.

Dylan smiled, "Of course, there are conditions. First, the $2 billion deposit must be transferred to my account immediately.

Second, I don't want this villa; I only want the one on Purple Mountain. But as compensation, give me an additional $500 million and throw in a car.

If you can do that, we'll sign the agreement right now!"

As soon as Dylan said this, Dominic anxiously signaled Belinda from the side.

"Alright! Let's do it this way!" Belinda tried to calm her excited heart.

"Hey, Mom, the villa on Purple Mountain was bought for me. It was just renovated, and I haven't even moved in yet.

I promised my friends that I'd take them to party there in the next few days!"

Fitzwilliam immediately jumped up, discontented.

"You shut your mouth!" Belinda glared at her son.
