Chapter 12 - Absolutely Shocked!
Hilgamech, who hadn't killed a living thing prior to entering the cave to train, couldn't help but feel a powerful slaughter intent brew like a tempestuous storm within him. It was violently surging within him and caused him to feel delighted in spilling more bloods. Though he didn't know why he felt this way, but he very much enjoyed the feeling.
Not very long, hundreds of winged beasts could be seen flying towards them.
Immediately, everyone faces turned solemn. This was because winged beasts were more difficult to kill. They moved fast because they were airborne, could evade attacks and could pick them up one after the other to devour.
Instantly, Varthan's fist began to glow in a bright yellow light.
Immediately this yellowish brilliance erupted from his clenched fist, the sand and stones on the ground started to float in the air, forming mysterious patterns due to his earth-manipulation power—a power imbued by the TerraFlux energy that he cultivated.
Then using a technique called Hundred Earth Pillar, Varthan instantly directed his fist towards the ground, punching it with force.
BANG!
Instantly, a frightening wave of yellow-colored energy erupted from his fist and spread to the far distance within the route. Then in that same moment, towering, solid cylindrical columns of earth jutted out from the earth surface with shocking tremendous force, smashing into some of them with immense exterminating power.
The winged beasts that were impacted by the columns immediately exploded into mists of blood.
Hilgamech who witnessed this, couldn't help but be impressed. The leader of the group was pretty powerful too. He seemed like someone that took his cultivation serious and was really diligent.
Suddenly clenching his fist tight, it began to glow in intense cyan light as he pumped AeroFlux energy from his glowing Receptacle of Essence into it.
The moment he carried out this act, the wind around him suddenly became more fierce and berserk, as if it was injected with the wrath of multitudes of rageful, hungry predatory beasts.
Then using a technique called Whirling Wind Pillar, he abruptly punched out at some of the winged beasts that were flying over with exceeding fury and hunger emitting from their flying figures.
Instantly, a glowing, cyan-colored pillar formed from AeroFlux energy, and was several feet wide—sixteen feet wide, abruptly shot out of his fist at an extreme speed towards the targeted beasts.
As the large pillar shot out, a large mass of air was abruptly pulled towards it from every direction before wrapping around it and compacting into a frightening, white-colored pillar formed purely from air.
Carrying with it dreadfully powerful currents of air, the air-pillar-enclosed, glowing solid column formed out of AeroFlux energy, smashed into the angry winged beasts with fearsome might.
BOOM!!
The impact was powerful.
It smashed many of the beasts into mists of blood one after the other such that the attack killed so many at once.
As for the terrifying currents of air—wind gales with the capability to pulverize or crush large rocks to fragments that accompanied it, did it own part by smashing them really hard into the solid route walls, causing them to end up as splatters of blood and flesh.
The cyan-colored pillar, seeming as if it hadn't come across a worthy opponent, continued in its seemingly unstoppable trajectory into the far distance where it smashed into a very large and solid rock at the route's end, stopping its journey there. If it wasn't that it had run out of power, it could have possibly smashed the massive-sized rock to pieces.
Everyone who witnessed the attack became terribly shocked!
What grade of wind element methodology was he studying? Even if he studied a very powerful duality methodology, he shouldn't be able to exhibit such devastating power at his level. But if they knew he was studying an A-ranked Trinity methodology, they would be endlessly fascinated, for such methodologies only existed in Supreme Worlds—Godverses.
The offense he sent out could seriously injure many of them, if not instantly exterminate them. Then they became terrified of him, especially the one who picked on him earlier. He decided in his heart to stop giving Hilgamech bad attitude.
But, the most astonished was Hilgamech. He never knew he could produce this kind of powerful attack. However, it filled the great expanse of his heart with unbound ecstasy. Then he began to think that he was slowly getting powerful, that with time, he would become immensely more powerful than his role model—a caped bold, relentless, and indomitable figure of supreme power that was indelibly branded to his memory, of course, after a lot of highly intense and relentless, near-death training in ruining, devastating realms.
Once he thought up to here, his gaze sharpened again. Then his fist began to glow in bright cyan light. But then, it suddenly changed to crimson.
The instant the brilliance emitting from his fist changed to crimson, dark crimson light suddenly erupted from his fist. Hilgamech, who didn't know something else had occurred, immediately punched out using a certain technique called Air Pillar.
The moment he punched out, a crimson-colored column of astonishing size suddenly weaved itself into existence and abruptly shot out at an extreme speed towards the targets that Hilgamech aimed for.
Once this column of seemingly mutated energy shot out, a large mass of air was quickly pulled over. It gathered around it before compacting and shaping into a massive pillar of air around the now-crimson colored pillar in mere seconds.
The pillar—crimson-colored one enclosed by the large and dense column of compacted air, surprisingly began to radiate intense searing heat. Astoundingly, the cyan-colored AeroFlux energy that composed it had mysteriously gained the characteristics of fire, a shocking transmutable process that was mysterious and totally unexplainable.
BOOM!!!
Upon striking the targeted beasts, the searing, crimson-colored column that was fully enclosed by the large, solidified mass of air, unexpectedly exploded into a massive cloud of bright crimson flame, burning virtually all the beasts still flying in the air towards them to cinders.
They just couldn't withstand the intense heat that radiated from the cloud of crimson-colored flame. As for the solid earth directly beneath where the column exploded, it had turned into molten earth.
The heat that emanated from it was simply great in scale.
Hilgamech looked at the molten ground and shook his head in utter astonishment. Then he asked inwardly with great marvel rocking his heart and whole being with great intensity, 'What?!! I can do this too? Something is definitely wrong somewhere. I didn't cultivate fire. So, where did it come from?'
Not able to find an answer to the question he asked himself, he inhaled deeply through his nose and out through his mouth.
Whoosh!
Then with his eyes turning cyan—after activating the Conjuring Wind Sense skill he possessed, he caused his next exhale to transform into a gust of wind that rapidly cooled the molten ground far in front of them, making it solid again.
It had cooled, but thick white fumes still emitted from it.
"Alright. The ground is back to normal. We can move on to other routes." Hilgamech said, looking at the people who still had intense looks of shock on their faces.
