The feeling of getting just what's missing, how nice!
Yang Yi got excited all of a sudden and couldn't help but stand up. As he was hesitating whether to sit back down, after finding his reaction a bit crude, he noticed John Jones also standing up.
"Now I need to meet with the contact to discuss the task details. Where are you staying?"
"Hotel."
"Go rent a place to live, better if it's near here for your convenience to get to work. Do you need financial support?"
"Oh, no need, thank you."
"Renting a place might take some time to find the right one. You should take care of that today. Also, you can stay at my place until you find somewhere suitable. I'm going to gather my core team at my house today, and you can meet everyone."
"Sure."
John Jones glanced at his watch and nodded, "That's settled then, wait for my call."
Yang Yi and John Jones left the office at the same time, then John Jones went to meet his contact, and Yang Yi, of course, went to find a suitable place to rent first.
However, finding a house to rent wasn't so easy. Yang Yi went to a real estate agency, presented his requirements, and started house hunting with the agent. But just as he saw the second house, John Jones called.
After telling John Jones his location, Yang Yi waited for a while until a silver-gray car stopped in front of him.
It turned out Yang Yi didn't know what kind of car John Jones drove, but now he knew it was just a Ford sedan, a common sight in London.
Yang Yi opened the door and got into the car. John Jones smiled and asked, "Found a house yet?"
"Not yet, I just started looking."
"No worries, you can stay at my place for the next few days until the task is over, then move."
"The task has been assigned already?"
"Yes."
Seeing that John Jones was in a good mood, Yang Yi's spirits lifted as well.
Soon, they arrived at John Jones's house, a row house located in the city center of London, probably built between 1930 and 1950. The house was a bit old.
Once an ordinary house, now owning such a well-located row house in the costly city of London was definitely a sign of strength.
After leading Yang Yi inside and closing the front door, John Jones said casually, "There's a room upstairs for you to stay in, but make absolutely no noise in the middle of the night. Go up, put your stuff away, then come down. I need to make a few phone calls now."
John Jones poured himself a drink and then offered to Yang Yi, "Would you like some?"
"Thank you, I don't drink. May I use the bathroom?"
"Of course, the door on the right at the top of the stairs."
After thanking John Jones, Yang Yi hurried upstairs.
The house was old but the decorations and furnishings were very tasteful. There was a thick carpet laid on the stairs, and oil paintings hung on the walls beside it, but Yang Yi couldn't afford to appreciate them more because he was desperate for the toilet.
Yang Yi placed the box at the bathroom door and then directly pulled open the bathroom door.
Yang Yi froze because it was only after he pulled open the door that he realized there was someone inside.
A woman, who had just stood up from the toilet, and most importantly, her pants hadn't been pulled up yet.
Yang Yi's brain buzzed, and then he stood there stunned, taking a quick glance before looking up, and upon seeing the extremely shocked expression of the woman with a ponytail in front of him, he finally realized it was time to turn around and leave.
It was really just a momentary event, but just as Yang Yi was about to turn around and close the door, a fist rapidly enlarged before his eyes.
A darkness fell over his vision followed by seeing stars, and then Yang Yi received another hard punch in the belly, making him immediately double over and fall backward, but it wasn't over yet, before he hit the ground, another punch landed heavily on his chin, then he finally collapsed, almost relieved.
Yang Yi nearly passed out, but he didn't, so there he was, curled up on the ground holding his stomach, painfully looking at the woman as he said in agony, "Fuck, what are you doing!"
Quickly pulling up her pants, the woman then tossed her ponytail with a cool flick, and forcibly shut the bathroom door.
"What happened!"
John Jones hurried up the stairs, and when he saw Yang Yi lying on the ground, the bathroom door opened again.
Looking at the woman coming out of the bathroom, John Jones exclaimed in surprise, "What are you doing here!"
The woman looked very angry, she shouted loudly, "This is my home! Who the hell is this guy!"
John Jones had a face like he was constipated and muttered in a low voice, "A... friend's son, staying for a few days, what happened, for heaven's sake, you beat him up like this?"
While John Jones and the woman were questioning each other, Yang Yi struggled to stand up, slowly made his way to the bathroom, and after painfully apologizing, finally staggered into the bathroom.
When Yang Yi finally came out of the bathroom, John Jones looked at him with a helpless expression, while the woman was still staring at him fiercely with a gaze full of disgust and anger.
Yang Yi sighed, and then said helplessly, "Sorry, that was an accident, and you've already hit me, can you accept my apology now?"
John Jones also looked very helpless and said, "Kate, I didn't know you were home, you didn't tell me you were coming back, so this was just an accident! Plus, you shouldn't have hit him, I've told you so many times, you can't always be this violent, you..."
The woman suddenly turned her head, her ponytail whipping out a beautiful curve in the air, and brushed past John Jones with a cool gesture, heading straight into a room, then she slammed the door shut.
Looking at the closed door, John Jones turned to Yang Yi with an apologetic shrug and a wry smile, "I'm very sorry she hit you, um, she's my daughter, Kate, Kate Jones."
Yang Yi wasn't angry, he just felt a deep sense of humiliation.
What a huge disgrace!
To be knocked down by a woman, a very young, very pretty one, short in stature, seemingly just a little girl, and to be beaten up without any power to fight back, the shame, oh the shame!
The fleeting glimpse he had just before made Yang Yi feel like the beating was almost worth it, but he vowed to himself he must get even, it was absolutely necessary, not to beat Kate Jones up, but to prove he could outfight her.
Yang Yi's face became resolute, and at that moment, John Jones gave him a rueful smile and whispered, "If you're thinking of proving that you have a higher 'combat value' than Kate, then I advise you to give up that thought, if you don't want to suffer an even worse beating, you better not provoke her."
Yang Yi said with a hint of defiance, "I just, just…, why?"
John Jones replied with evident distress, "Because I accidentally trained her too much, she started practicing boxing at the age of seven, freestyle fighting when she was ten, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at twelve, and Muay Thai at fifteen, so, give it up, you can't beat her."
