A small white fox walked alone in an empty world. It knew it had a goal, but it didn't know what. All it did know, was that it was alone.
Atleast until it met that man.
It was so long ago, that she had almost forgotten what that man looked like. All she could remember, was his distinct white hair and kind, but tired eyes.
The man reached out to pet her which he galdly accepted.
"Your lost, aren't you? If you wander around here any longer, then you'll disappear for good."
He pointed towards a void, although it didn't look that way to him.
"Keep walking in that direction. You should make it to earth from there."
Before he left he suddenly remembered something.
"AH! I ALMOST FORGOT WHY I CAME HERE!"
He forced his hand on the fox, and then suddenly a strange pain stared to spread through it. It screamed and cried, almost begging him to stop, yet the pain never ended.
The man whose eyes were once kinder than any others, were dull to the suffering it was witnessing.
"I will grant you the curse of resurrection. You shall never return to your goddess, until the destined day has come. I will also give you the curse of hunger, so that you will crave the flesh and power of your kin and others, to make what is theirs, yours. As long as you possess these curses, you will suffer and unbearable pain for eternity, until the day a master fitting your power appears."
Despite being of divine origins, two powerful curses were casted onto it. Never forgetting the experience, and the meaning behind those words, the Kyubi would eventually incarnate itself into a female host of the inari clan.
History would go on, until today
After that great display of power, everyone looked up in awe of her. If there was a reason why psychics and spirits aren't as rampant as they should be, it was likely because of her.
Obi then panicked, but quickly withdrew himself. Enji noticed this.
"Obi? What's wrong? Are you hiding something?"
"Oh, it's nothing really. Still hot from Aiko's attack."
Hoshiko then look around and asked, "Where is Shiro?"
Everyone looked at Obi who was in charge of collecting everyone from the battle field. He tried to play it off as it was nothing, but he was harshly scolded.
"FINE! I FORGOT THE NEW KID WAS HERE OKAY?? IF YOUR THAT BOTHERED, THEN LETS GO COLLECT HIS CHARRED REMAINS!"
He opened up a portal, but the first person to run into it was Hoshiko. The air was burning hot, and it was even hard to breathe but it was manageable.
"SHIRO?? WHERE ARE YOU?"
15 minutes prior
Akira passed out on the floor, and thus control over his spirits had disappeared. Thankfully they were all dead so there was nothing to worry about.
Shiro picked up Akira, and started to carry him on his back, but his anemic state made him collapse just as fast.
"Damn, I feel too weak. I won't be recovering anytime soon..."
Shrios skin started to itch, and then his skin cracked. It felt as if the air had grown heavy and hot, and the land between him was frying his skin.
"What the hell?"
He felt a sudden pressure above him, once he looked up, he saw something that shouldn't be possible.
"Is that the sun? THE HEAD CAPTAINS HERE??"
Shiro had personally experienced this himself, although a much much smaller version. This was a move that summoned an incrediblely small portion of the sun itself. If Aiko was using it here, then that meant she planned on wiping out the entire area.
Shiro who grew worried, quickly grabbed onto Akira.
"Does she not know we're here?? I need to get out of here with Akira ASAP!"
He tried to pick up Akira but he was too weak. Even if he tried to escape here by himself, he wouldn't get very far.
He got down on his knees as he accepted his fate while watching the Kyubi.
"I hope you managed to get out of here atleast..."
The sun fell right in top of the Kyubi, incinerating it, until only charred flesh was left. The impact from the collision was comparable to a nuke. It's burning waves reached Akira and Shiro, peeling away at their skin before roasting them.
One the fall out from the blast had partially settled, something strange began to occur.
Shiro started to regenerate from nothing. This wasn't the first time this has happend, as he did this in his battle against Doctor Kyboi, but the strange part was Akira who was regenerateing too.
It wasn't just that but their clothes which were obliterated had also been fixed.
Shiro looked at his hand, and wondered,
"My ability worked? My psychic power is resorted, and it even saved Akira??"
This went beyond mere hyper regeneration which Shiro thought was his ability. This was a theory form Weather man, so perhaps he was wrong? It didn't matter in the end as they were all alive.
One of the Kybuis large tails fell from the heavens and landed right next to the two. It's fur was burnt to a crisp, it's flesh melted, but Shiro could feel it still living and breathing.
"This thing really is immortal? But I guess the same could be said for me. It will probably regenerate very soon."
Shiro then heard the voice of a woman he recognized. It sparked hope in him.
But a the same time, he heared laughing.
"So it really did happen after all? But I guess this was a surprise? The whole plan went off the rails once Mr. Repent disappeared, but I guess this is fine too."
Shiro turned around, and saw Akira touching the Kybuis burnt tail.
"I WIN, SHIRO!"
2 days prior
Asclepius, Adam, Akira and Junko were gathered around in a dark place.
"I just got news from our insider, Mr. Repent. The schedule has been moved to the 5th August. We will have make slight alterations to the plan."
Adam complained that it was too much work, so Junko called him out for being lazy. Akira on the otherhand, was to exhausted to care about their bickering.
"The original plan was to use the Artifact, Holy nail to try and surpress the Kyubi, and then seal it inside the Void box which Mr. Repent possess, but due to the new schedule, the Holy nail won't be delivered in time."
Since the most critical part of this plan was now missing, Junko asked what they were to do instead.
"Instead of using the Holy nail and void box, we will use Akiras ability to dominate Spirits. We will have Mr. Repent feed the temples priest, Kotsuki and have Kyubi steal his blessing. Akira will command the Kyubi with the stolen blessing to seal itself inside him. With this method atleast, we will gain possession of the Kyubi."
This plan was very risky, but it also included a bunch of holes.
"I'm not sure if I can do that? The deciding factor on wether I can dominate a spirit or not is the psychic power gap between me and the target. If it's big, I can conquer it just by touch, but if the spirit is stronger than me, I won't be able to dominate it without weakening it first. I'm not even sure if I can conquer since it's a being of divine power."
The points Akira had made were strong. Even if they were to weaken it somehow, whose to say that the domination might fail completely?
Adam then spoke with a tone of arrogance,
"If it's about defeating that spirit, then leave it to me. I'm more than strong enough."
Asclepius quickly intervened.
"If it's about defeating the spirit, then don't worry. We will drive the P.E.S psychics to call the one person who can. If it's that woman, then she'll definitely be able to drive it to that point. And then wether you can conquer it or not? I guess we'll leave it up to fate."
The Kyubi was rapidly absorbed into Akiras hand. Shiro tried to fire a dead bullet at it, but a strange force repelled it.
"HOSHIKO, DON'T COME HERE!"
A gust of win the blew Shiro back as Akira screamed in pain. Akira finished absorbing the first tail, and then second, until the entire fox was completely absorbed.
He collapsed before his flesh and body began to rapidly expand to the size of a boulder. His screams became disorted and the pain was too unbearable for him.
Aiko who emerged from the portal after Hoshiko did, could feel the divine power of the fox inside the morphing Akira.
She immediately drew her sword, and ran to split him apart before he could finish.
She felt if he were to finish transforming, then Japan would most certainly be doomed.
She jumped up, and was about to thrust her blade into the pile of screaming flesh, but Asclepius blocked her.
"Move out the way!"
A blast of psychic power easily pushed him aside, and Aiko thrusted her blade into Akiras body.
