Shiro suddenly began to convulse as he fell to his knees. Akira who was terrified by him was confused at his sudden change.
It wasn't that Shiro was in distress, but his psychic power was going out of control too. It then calmed down along with the pain.
Akira taking this opportunity decided to try finish Shiro off.
He easily caught his hand while locking eyes with him.
The Shiro he knew had returned.
Due to his injuries, Akira had no more psychic power left over that Shiro. Which ment in this current moment, he may actually lose.
Akira tried to slice Shiro's throat with his free hand but before he could, Shiro punched him in the face. The nine tails which he had lost before finally returned, so Akira used them as projectiles.
Rather than dodging them, Shiro ran straight through them. For some reason he felt that the damage he took now was neggliable.
It was almost as if his regeneration was permanently enhanced.
"Akira, I can apologise over and over again. But your parents will still be dead. The last thing that I can do for you, is to destroy all of those emotions in battle."
Akira tried to back away, but some thing stopped him from doing so. The truth was, he didn't want to.
"I... You still have those eyes up until the very end..."
All of Shiro's psychic power was being diverted to his right fist. Akira tried to defend, but I felt as if and entire mountain was being dropped ontop of him.
Shiros' fist crashed into Akira, and it's shockwave could be felt even in Kyoto.
Akira unconscious body fell to the floor while Shiro stood over him. The adrenaline inside him had finally cooled off, and he fell.
Before he could even hit the floor though, the captain caught him.
"Captain... Hoshikos dead. I failed the mission. I-"
Aiko covered his mouth, signalling him to stop talking. Although she didn't know the girl that well, she too was distraught by her death.
"You don't need to talk, you don't need to cry. I understand it all, so just sleep."
The exhaustion from constantly regenerating had finally caught up to him, so he quickly passed out.
Aiko looked over to the also uncon Akira, and put Shiro down. She pulled out something she was hiding, which seemed to be futureistic looking handcuffs.
She didn't even get a chance to put them on howver, when two steal beams were thrown at her.
She parried the first one, and then jumped out of the way of the second, but when she did, she felt a powerful force push her away from Akira.
Asclepius was now standing over Akiras unconscious body.
"I'm sorry, but I can't allow you to take this boy into your possession."
Aiko was about to make quick work of him, but then a strange shadow appeared to block her. It was a shadow, but it was more like a pitch black sludge.
From it emerged a man which Aiko recognised.
"Your???"
His face and hair were identical to Shiro's, however he had a scar running down his left cheek.
"What trickery is this? Why do you wear the face of my comrade?"
"This is my true face. To a blessing user like you, I should be your greatest enemy, but I guess the same could be said for Shiro."
Asclepius picked up Akira and quickly jumped inside the black sludge portal. Aiko fired two lasers of psychic power at them, but they suddenly just disappeared.
"WHO ARE YOU?!"
"I am the one who will save this world from ultimate destruction. I am the one true enemy of God. I am the one who has witnessed the end, and will fight to prevent it. I am the prophet."
Aiko herself sprinted up to him, and was about to spilt him in half but the prophet quickly retreated to his portal.
Her blade split it in half but the portal slowly disappeared.
"DAMMIT!"
Eventually Obi and Enji would catch up to the two. But it was far too late.
Akira who has absorbed the Kyubi had gotten away, and now Eclipse had him in their possession. The mission was officially recognised as a failure.
2 days later
After being in a long deep sleep, Shiro finally woke up. Despite just getting up, he immediately remembered Hoshiko dying in front of him.
"Why can't I save anyone? Why do they all have to die? Is it because I keep getting close to them?"
Shiro got up out of his bed and saw his P.E.S armband next to his hospital bed. He changed out of his hospital gown, and quickly put it back on.
That day he left the room, no longer the same person as before. He had no need for emotions or sympathy. Only efficiency mattered.
-Tokyo, Japan
It was night, and the full moon was shinning brightly. In tall skyscraper somewhere, someone dressed in a very fine suit was overlooking the city.
In his hand he had a glass of the most expensive gin.
A black portal opened up behind him, and through it the prophet appeared.
"How did it go?"
"We have obtained the Kyubi. However Mr. Repent had died during the operation."
He took a sip from his glass before putting it down on the table next to him.
"It's a shame really, he was a valuable asset too. Was he necessary in any future operations?"
"He would've been handy but his existence isn't required. As long as the Kyubi is in our possession, we should be able to move forward without issues."
The business man walked over to his desk. He rummaged through it for a bit, before taking out a document.
"Thanks to you for taking out the head and successors of Takeda pharmaceutical, their structure is breaking down. Very soon they'll go bankrupt and we'll take full charge of the pharmacy industry. You said that the last ingredient we need to perfect Flora is in that trench?"
The prohept nodded.
"We already have a member of Eclipse infiltrated in the government. They'll allow us to manipulate Flora into being approved for sale. Most of the test trials ended in failure so once it's complete, it will be ready for consumers. Go and do what you need to do, I'll be waiting."
The prophet bowed before disappearing into the void of his portals.
This man was Kazuma Icihara the CEO of BioMarin pharmaceutical. Only one thought existed in his mind, a kind of belief.
How can we make more money?
