Chapter 4 - Epic of The Gods

Epic of the Gods has existed for 4 months and there are already an estimated of 2 billion players.

The highest leveled player is still level 44.

That is due to the sheer difficulty of the game. The pain receptors are capped at an astounding 89% and it is unchangeable, meaning that it is as close to if not similar to real pain, well to some players close is an understatement... meanwhile dying is extremely real and can traumatize weak minded players, what's worse is that there's no protection for female players.

Well for the players who want to play but couldn't tolerate the pain, by the orders of the company, Maintenance started selling a Legendary(Z) Elixir that will lessen the pain receptors of the players, said elixir is sold only by the company and couldn't be replicated by the inhabitants of the game. Its price is 500,000 dollars per elixir and it can remove 20% of the pain receptors making it 69%, and as a side effect it only works one time per player, more will only waste it.

The company is so evil marketing it like this, that it created a media outrage. But! its not like the Game Company is running a charity. The game is the most revolutionary tech that has currently been invented in this world. Not even the other Virtual Reality games could mimic the realism of "Epic of The Gods"

Though every starting player are currently classless, there are actually 10 classes players can choose from in the game namely the Fencer, Fighter, Caster, Rager, Tanker, Tamer, Archer, Healer, Bard, Rogue, though these 10 options are only available for humans... For beastkins, there is no Tanker, Bard or Healer. There are Beastkin Casters but they are heavily looked down upon due to the sheer discrimination towards Magic and the beastkins severely lacking magical attribute compared to the other races Mages.

Players get a Weapon Mastery skill from their starting weapon or buy Weapon Mastery but that would be a waste of precious skill points (SP). And even if players don't have a Weapon Mastery, they can still use other weapons but with less efficiency and damage modifiers compared to others that have a Mastery skill.

Onille was an Archery champion back in highschool and so his choice was obviously the LongBow and was planning on changing into the Archer class at level 5, though now that she's been gifted the Twin Blades of Lust, she can also class change into a Fencer.

He already had [Bow Mastery(II)] just when he created his avatar and that only happens when one is also proficient in using the weapon IRL, one more and he'd have enough to get some pretty sweet skills.

Insania finally recovered from the debuff and payed for the bow, she also bought a hundred more arrows cause she only had 76 durable ones when she finished killing all the hares. Leaving her with 400 gold and 96 silvers.

"You won't have to pay for the bow" said the beastkin smith.

Insania nodded then went outside the village. With everything prepared she first checked her stats and noticed that her Character affinity is terrifyingly high, even though she's a guy.

Character affinity is the players connection towards their character. In Epic of the Gods players and non-players are given the freedom to build their own skill sets at an early level. Starting from level one to ten (1-10) players will receive 1 SP or skill-point to buy the skills of their fancy, that's when affinity comes in, a player with higher affinity would always be blessed with more skills compared to a player with lesser affinity.

Then theres the AP points that can be gained 1 per level. The conversion rate for beastkins is 1:3 for Physical attributes and 1:1 for Magical Attributes, meaning that a level 30 beastkin is far physically stronger compared to a level 30 human that has 1:2 increase in all their stats, Humans can offset that through Magic supremacy or mystical Physical buffs.

Starting from levels 15, 20 and 25 and so on so forth, players will only gain 5 AP and even if you do die and regress one level, you wont gain another 5 AP.

Insania couldn't access the Archer skill tree yet cause of her current class and it'd be a waste without the Mastery at [III].

She opened her Character's given skills and was astounded... most player would only have like 10 or less, depending on their Character affinity but Insania has exactly 45!

Some are passives that players would drool over!

[Greater Physique], [Strengthen Might], [Agile Reflexes],[Dexterous Limbs], [Enhanced Magic Power], [Enhanced Wisdom]. All these skills give +40 to their respective Stats! Which is insane! No player should be this lucky. To have all these coveted stat enhancers in a single character is akin to winning the lottery. She salivated but sadly having too many passives will make her character too unbalanced, she could only take 1 or 2. Although she'd love to have 40 in DEX and STR... she should prioritize her future so she picked [Strengthen Might] and [Agile Reflexes].

[Strengthen Might]: Increases users Strength attribute by 40.

[Agile Reflexes]: Increases users Agility attribute by 40.

Puting her 2 Attribute Points unto Dexterity and bumping it to 21 points, she could now deal 42-45 damage with every arrow.

Now inside the Wistless Forest Insania saw 3 labrador sized ants. Moving closer she scanned the giant insects stats.

Crazy Ant

Rarity: Common

Level: 5

Hitpoints: 1,200

Damage: 45-50

Skills:

[???]*

Crazy ants have a skill that increases their damage by a considerable amount when near their fallen allies. How does Insania know that despite not having a skill that can see monsters skills you ask?. ZA power of research of COURSE! Some people already put this information on the forums. For players too lazy to take the skill to scan mobs skills.

Dealing with 3 might be hard but with her high accuracy and erratic kiting prowess, these ants were going down!

...

Meanwhile in the nearby city. "Boss we found a solo female player!"

two beastkin came running towards a dark alley.

"Where?" he asked unperturbed his voice resounded deeply as if he growled while talking. This man is Garou a crime boss in real life and in game, he's a Panthera Leo with a dark mane and is cladded with equipment of Uncommon Rarity to the average beastkin players this type of equipment is extremely hard to get.

"In the nearby village!" the two excitedly said in unison. Garou's cold gaze was penetrating, he couldn't care less about every single female beastkin player after all when you're in his position money and women are a dime a dozen but he couldn't resist a new toy.

"WAIT! before the two of you go, bring along the new guy with you." Garou coldly said. The two nodded and sprinted away. This was very normal in the Beastkindom its a dog eat dog world after all but then the Moderators updated the game and put a cursed Newbie Protection Mechanism Protocol.

...

Insania has been grinding for 30 minutes now and finally heard the system ring.

*Ting

you have leveled up*

Looking into her Character skills again, she started sorting out useful, situational,Must have/ and lastly garbage... and sadly... 20 out of the other 39 skills are garbage, leaving 19... 7 Passives and 12 Actives. As tempted as she is to take another passive she sorely needed a skill to use, so that her f**kin mana doesn't stagnate.

[CRIT Strikes], [Soundless], [Quick Leap], [Rapid Dash], [Focus], [Basic AtKSPD Boost], [Mana Ball], [Imbue Weapon], [Imbue Bodypart], [Farsight], [Basic Inherent Dispell], [Double Jump],

Insania read her options... starting from the first one.

[CRIT Strikes]: Gives 100% CRITICAL every attack for 4 seconds but has a horrendous cooldown which is 10 mins.

[Soundless]: Dampens the sound of the Users movements for 3 seconds: Cooldown: 20 seconds

Manacost: 15

These two are [Rouge] class players favorite skill for PK. Looks useful but duration sucks.

[Quick Leap]: Strengthen then user in dodging an attack giving them the ability to leap 4 meters in a straight line.

Cool-down: 30 seconds

Manacost: 80

An instantaneous movement skill that allows the user to leap out of or into danger, very good skill but not needed as of yet.

[Rapid Dash]: Allows user to Dash for 2 seconds, giving double movement speed.

Cooldown: 5 seconds

Manacost: 10

A spammable movement type skill with low mana cost and low cooldown although good, wouldn't help me increase my damage output at all.

[Focus] Increases AtK speed upon a single target and [Basic AtKSPD Boost] increases AtK speed but with a shorter duration.

[Mana ball]: Creates a small ball of Mana that can deal 5 Magical Damage upon impact.

Cooldown: 3 seconds

Manacost: 2

[Imbue Weapon]: Coats users currently equipped weapon with their own mana that will dissipate after 5 seconds and grants 20 Magical Damage+(100% Magic Power) to the weapon.

(Cannot be used on non-weapon type items)

Manacost: 5 per second

[Imbue Bodypart]: Coats a single point of the users body with their own mana that will dissipate after 5 seconds and grants 0.5% Magical Armor+(0.5% Magic Power)

(Cannot be used on items)

Manacost: 5 per second

[Farsight] is self explanatory, while [Basic Inherent Dispell]: The body sends out a cleansing form of mana that will allow the user to remove lesser status ailments afflicting them. (Cannot remove debuffs from a being of higher Class/Tier)

Cool-down: 10 Seconds

Manacost: 50

Very useful for getting out of nasty situations, and [Double Jump] which allows the user to create a foothold on the air and jump a second time.

(Please give me yer thoughts on the skills)
