Chapter 21 - Think I’ll Make It Worse

[KIYOMI]

"We meet again, princess," Bazyli spat furiously.

He had stress marks on his face, the frown reminding Kiyomi of the man who had looked at Sakura like there was supposed to be more to that relationship. Kiyomi couldn't erase the memory of Sakura calling the bastard 'baby'.

Maybe the good doctor shouldn't have been jealous of Ivankov, but then it wasn't like the universe was good at giving her signs and letting her have some peace of mind right?

"I see you look as fit as a fiddle. Tell me, Bazyli… are you here because you couldn't find your men or are you here because Sakura didn't give you what you wanted? I should have you know that the woman is a few nuts too loose in the head.

"But at the same time, I want to believe that you are not stupid enough to believe that Sakura Watanabe would look at you as anything other than a pawn on her chessboard," Kiyomi spat, her tone matching Bazyli.

Elif, who was not sure what the hell was happening, just sat in silence as she watched the men in the room stare at Kiyomi like they wanted to kill her. At the same time, Kiyomi Kimura wasn't even the least bit bothered.

If anything, Kiyomi looked like she had had the hardest of days and she wasn't in the mood to play house with the Russian mob. She didn't want trouble and she hoped that the Ivankov son would know that.

"For someone with no career or home, you sure have a mouth on you. Why did you kill all a hundred of my men? What did you use? Because there's just no way that a weak woman like you could do that," Bazyli asked and Kiyomi chuckled darkly.

She was sick of people asking her questions and telling her what to do. She had once had a career and a beautiful life that didn't have any chaos. The thought that these bastards exposed her to the Bogdan Lycans pissed her off even more.

Kiyomi was a scared dog that Bogdan Lycans with good reason and yet these damn mafia men had managed to get her name on the charts and with everyone talking about her. It was almost like popularity was the one curse Kiyomi was bound to.

"Listen here, Bazbylika or whatever the fuck your name is. As you can see, I am trying to have a nice day with my friend, and you interrupted us. Now I have to pay for the door you broke, which you lost and wouldn't even bother fixing.

"You need to get the hell out of this house while I still feel like a nice person, Bazbylika. I am not in the mood to have my sister watch the mess I could take from you. She is too good to be ruined by the worlds we both live in," Kiyomi said and Bazyli scoffed.

He couldn't believe that this woman was threatening him. He hated threats and he despised the fact that he felt scared of the woman. Frankly, Bazyli had every reason to be scared. He had seen the mess Kiyomi had left and he wasn't sure he wanted that.

Maybe that was also why Bazyli had come aligned with so many men, and even that didn't seem to faze Kiyomi. Instead, she looked at them like they were the worst of nuisances in her life and she ended them.

It was a hard sell really, but what else could Bazyli do? He had to send a statement to the people in the world he lived in. He had to make sure everyone was smart enough to not mess with him and his family.

"For a woman who murdered my father, you sure have some nerve talking to me like that," Kiyomi said and Elif sighed as she looked at Bazyli. She despised the man and his name wasn't even as pleasing.

"Look here, you lot. You broke my door, which is fine, I can fix that. But you need to get your stinky asses out of here. I have been dealing with the police since you bastards accused Kiki of murder when she is innocent.

"I don't care what you plan on doing out there but do it outside my house, please," Elif said, her tone filled with so much hate that Kiyomi facepalmed. She had almost forgotten what a sharp mouth her best friend had.

However, she was glad that even in the middle of the madness, Elif was still the same person she had known for years. Maybe Elif was the only link to her kind of normal and she would be alright with it through and through.

"Shut that bitch up and bring me Kiyomi," Bazyli said and Kiyomi sighed. This man really never learned his lesson. Perhaps Bazyli was addicted to losing more men or was just plainly dumb because even the blind could see that Elif was a bad target.

"Let it be known that I tried to choose peace and you bastards ruined that," Kiyomi said as she readied herself for a fight. She had positioned herself right in front of Elif so that anyone who tried to get to Elif, would have to go through her.

"What are you all waiting for? Bring me the two women!" Bazyli insisted as he sat on one of the couches in the room, ready to have Kiyomi now at his feet. It was a stupid idea for the man, especially given what Kiyomi had done to his people, but perhaps Bazyli was simply born dumb, no?

"I'm so sorry about this, Elif. I can portal you back to the hospital and deal with them. I swear I'll get everything right this time. Just tell me if you want to leave and I'll send you to create the portal this instant," Kiyomi said to Elif who was watching her softly.

Elif seemed to understand how complex the situation was and while she had never seen Kiyomi fight she knew that this would be messy. However, even then she was ready to risk it all and watch her best friend. Maybe they were both unhinged.

"I'm okay, Kiki. You don't need to send me away, besides I can throw things at them to keep them busy. Those karate classes you had been taking always paid off. I can help this time," Elif said softly and Kiyomi sighed.

This wasn't how she had planned on meeting her friend again, but what else could she do? Everything was going wrong for her and she hated it. Oh, how Kiyomi hated battles. She had always preferred to save lives instead of taking them.

And yet in the past thirty-six hours, she had murdered more people than she had ever thought possible. It wasn't what she wanted, but she had to fight or let herself be murdered by the Russian mob.

"Alright then, let's do this," Kiyomi said as Elif stepped out from behind her, and together the two women readied themselves to fight for their lives. There was no telling what the outcome would be given they were outnumbered but perhaps they could win this, no?

"Y'know, Bazyli, the weather is pretty cold out here… harm a hair on my little petal's head and watch me burn Odanera down just to keep her warm," a nonchalant Sakura Watanabe stated casually, as she stood by Elif's main door, or whatever was left of it.
