Chapter 2 - I hate being under anyone

Reggie got ready to attack but instead of attacking the men drawing closer to him, he threw one of his daggers to Gumi, getting him on his arm with the dagger getting stuck in his flesh.

Gumi let out a loud scream of pain and agony as his men lost focused on Reggie and focused on him instead.

"He is getting away!" He yelled amidst his pain and they all turned back, only not to find Reggie there anymore. He had disappeared again. He disappeared into thin air and was surely going for his next victim.

Reggie laughed as he got mixed with the crowd. In terms of being smart, he was way ahead of Gumi. It was a battle of being powerful and being smart.

Simple! Avoiding a fight has being his best way of survival.

He took a turn to the next alley which was quiet and lonely. Getting to the end wall, he looked around and when sure there was no one watching, he placed his palm on it.

His palm was scanned and the wall shook before it split into two. He went into the opened space behind the wall and it closed back as if it never opened.

Inside the dark opened space, the lights came on, revealing a living room. Every furnitures, decors, paintings and all, where covered in white.

So bright and magnificent even though it wasn't a large space. Reggie dropped the card on the couch and went into his room which was no different from being white like the living room.

White seemed to be his best color but it was far from that. It signified purity and peace, but his life was far from that. He loves being the dark in the midst of life. The devil in the midst of angels, that was the reason for his color choice so that amidst his white, pure surrounding, he would be the sin.

He fell on his bed exhaling deeply. In five days, he would be leaving for Sorixon, the place that had become his safe haven. The place where his new beginning started.

He reached out to his drawer and brought out a picture from it. He sat up, staring at the middle aged man in the picture.

"Where the hell are you Hugo?"

Hugo was the reason he came to Tokyo three months ago. He had gotten an information that he was in Japan and came over.

The middle aged man was a father figure to him who disappeared six years ago. He needed to find him again. He wanted to see him but he was like the wind, not being able to grasp him.

Reggie let out of a sigh and kept the pictures back in the drawer before he brought out the golden card from his pocket. The secret, and money filled card. The card was the key to a safe in Tokyo. A safe which contains a billion dollars.

He closed his eyes but got forced to shoot it open when he heard a bang at the secret entrance. He abruptly stood up and rushed to the living room.

Has someone found his little hideout? No that can't be. Even though anyone finds out about it, it would be hard to go in cause of his biometric.

The noise suddenly stopped and everywhere went silent. He thought they were gone and he listened quietly to be sure. All of a sudden.....

BOOM!

A loud explosion shook the living room as the wall acting as an entrance, got broken off and the debris being thrown at Reggie.

He fell down with some pile of stones on him. Was he finally caught?

"So you are Reggie, the boy without a last name who steals off of people's sweat and con foolish people who aren't smart?"

He lifted his head and saw a woman figure walking towards him. She squatted down beside him and moved her fingers on his cheek.

"Don't worry, you will be relieved of your pain soon but first, you need to give me an answer to a request," she said to him.

Reggie mind was more focused on getting out of his situation that he almost ignored the lady. But to think of it, she was the only one to help him. He sighed in exasperation and leaned back, stopping himself from struggling any further.

"So Reggie, I have being going after you for quite some months now and have come to a conclusion that you are the one who can help me achieve my goals."

Reggie lifted a brow and fell back to the floor. "You've got a wrong guy. I don't help people."

"I know. You hate people instead."

"You do know a lot about me."

"Yes, more than you can think of." She sighed deeply and stood up with her hands behind her back. "Eleven years ago, you killed Mr Donald in the most gruesome way. You ate his soul and ran away. Since then, you have being running cause that night keeps hunting you."

He shivered at her revelation. She does know so much. "Who the fuck are you?"

"Calm down honey, I am a friend and not a foe. It's funny how a guy born without a talent could kill a Delta so easily and you outsmarted a Beta. You are the only best person I can think of for my mission. Infact, I can give you the answers you have always desire to know if only you come with me. Let's form a team and achieve our goals."

He suddenly smirked and stood up without any struggles, allowing the debris to fall freely on the floor. He dusted his cloth and placed his feet on a fallen block.

"And what is this goal of yours?"

She nodded in satisfaction, "Now you are talking," she went on. "I oppose the high governments. I oppose their injustices and their ruthlessness. I want to bring them down and bring back this world to it formal glory." She rolled her fist into a ball as she continued, "Years ago, I watched as my parent were killed. They were killed cause they were commoners. More people would be killed if we don't bring them down."

"And why do I need to help you?"

"Cause you want to know the truth. The truth about yourself and how you killed Mr Donald when you were just ten. You want to know what that power is. Also, everyone has always hated you. They all hate you cause you are talentless and not even up to the stage of being a commoner. You have being treated wrongly all your life." She walked closer until she was standing some inches away from him. "We need to put an end to all these injustice and make this world a better place for the next generation."

He stared at her for a while before he bursted out laughing while bringing out a short gun from his pocket. Not expecting his attack, the woman gasped when he shot at her. Even though it had happened unexpectedly, she was swift to have dodged the bullet and caught his wrist.

"If I am joining your mission, I have to be the leader. I hate being under anyone."

The sides of her lips curled up into an evil grin, "Alright then, whoever wins this duel will become the leader." She accepted his challenge and her irises turned bright green.
