"So this is part of the first test." The nerd guy said, stating the obvious. "I had an idea that this test of wisdom would take a lot of time." He added and adjusted his glasses.
"Let's get ready for the second test. It might be happening already." Reggie chipped in.
He looked at each of the member of his group. Georgia is a Delta, the nerd guy is an Omega and the bulgy guy is a Delta.
They were all a group of people who might lose the game. Two Deltas, one Omega and one talentless boy. What a great combination!
"You all have an hour to search around for the artifact which name would be withheld. There are so many artifacts scattered in the forest and we need just the artifact stolen from Golden Boot to be found. The group that finds it would proceed to the next stage of the test." The voice spoke through the speaker again, gaining the attention of everyone.
She went on, "The rules are just a few. First rule is this: You must protect your gadgets and bring it back safely with you. The second rule is: You must return with your teammates. And the third is: If you find the artifact, other teams have the right to take it away from you and be proclaimed the winner," she instructed which caused the applicant to murmur amongst themselves.
"How are we supposed to find something when a name isn't given? That would be impossible." The nerd boy murmured and adjusted his glasses again. He was nervous which was evidence in his voice. He wiped the bead of sweat from his forehead and swallowed hard.
"Your time starts now!" The lady's voice echoed from the speaker and everyone rushed into the forest including the bulgy guy. Energies where being realized and many who had navigation energies, put it to work immediately.
"Why aren't we moving?" Georgia questioned, with her voice laced with worries. It would be hard for her if she fails to get into PSA.
"We are looking for something almost impossible to find. We need to think about what we might be expecting when we go into this forest." Reggie informed to which they all nodded except the nerd guy who got even more nervous.
"But that guy ran in already and we need our team together. We can't break the rules."
Reggie nodded and rubbed his forehead. "You have Navigation energy right?" He questioned the nerd who nodded his head.
He could perceive the energy coming up off him. His special talent is Spatial. He can teleport to wherever he wanted to if he thinks about the place or who he want to meet.
"But I am not good at it yet. I am a loser." His voice was low and laced with shame as he lowered his gaze. Reggie rolled his eyes in return and faced Georgia.
"You Georgia, how well can you control your fie ability."
"I am bad at controlling. I will burn down the forest."
'I am surrounded by idiots.' Reggie thought and stomped to where the nerd stood. He punched his chest lightly and placed the other hand on his shoulder.
"If you are going to deem yourself as a loser, then you shouldn't try to be a Ranger at all. I need to become a Ranger and you are not ruining this for me."
Georgia lowered her gaze and rubbed her arm, "You should... you should be nice."
"I am never nice and would never be. This world doesn't deserve me being nice." He half yelled and faced the nerd guy again. "What's your name?"
"Vi-victor." He shuttered.
"Great Victor, now get us to that idiot who ran off."
Victor swallowed hard and faced the forest not sure of what to do. All he knew was that, he wouldn't let his team down. He needed a place with the Rangers anyway. It was important to him too.
He breathed out and shut his eyes trying to picture the big guy. He brought two fingers to his forehead and concentrated even more.
"I see him." He almost screamed out, immediately opening his eyes and pointing same finger towards the forest, opening up a portal.
"I did it!" He jumped clapping his hand. "Yes, I did it!"
"Let's get in before it disappears." Reggie instructed and ran into the portal, followed by Georgia and then Victor. They came out at the other end of the portal in the forest and at the same time, the big guy was running towards them.
His eyes widened seeing his teammates right before him. He had thought he would get the artifact and go back to them, making him the smart one in their group. How did they get there so fast?
"Hey idiot, what do you think you are doing running off when you have a group of teammates to think things through with?" Reggie questioned with a scowl covering his face.
"You idiots shouldn't be here. You will ruin the plan." He retaliated.
Reggie rolled his eyes and placed his hand on Victor's shoulder, "You should think again before calling us idiots. It didn't take long to find you. You are the foolish one for running off without a plan."
"The rules say we should be together as teammates. You will ruin everything if you go in alone." Georgia chipped in which got the big man growling.
"You all are losers!"
"And these losers are going to get themselves and you into the PSA." Reggie countered, not looking away from the fuming man.
Victor walked forward and reminded. "We don't have much time. Let's go about this or we lose our chance."
"We are looking for an artifact from a library which means, it's either a book or any item that can be found in the library. That is the artifacts we would look for while staying together. No one is allowed to go on their own or we lose this chance." He took his gaze to the big man who scorned and looked away, obviously annoyed that he is being ordered by a young boy.
Reggie suddenly looked towards the east and a smile crept into his face, "I think I just sensed a strong artifact coming from that direction." He told them having sensed a very strong energy coming from the eastern part of the forest.
A strong energy he never sensed from the applicants when they where all gathered around.
