Early the next morning. Polaris and the Wilderness Initiative began their journey to the journey to the capital accompanied by the Guild Master.
"We'll reach the Capital by the High Sun." Called out the Guild Master from the front of the wagon.
"Polaris... We all swear to you, nothing will stop you from seeing her again."
"If it does...."
"I will kill anything that stands in our way."
As the wagon left the port city of Berban, Hexxit began to play "Hanging Tree". She looked at Polaris, his eyes were full of anger and yet, a hint of hope.
As they arrived at the Capital, the guards denied them entry. However, Polaris wasn't taking now for an answer. He boiled the guards' alive. He marched into the city, tossing guards and soldiers aside like they sacks of potatoes.
"Your Majesty, someone is attacking the royal guards and soldiers."
"What?"
"They say he glows like the sun in the sky."
Belvidere's ears twitched as she shoved the guard aside. The King and his escort rushed after her.
"Belvidere! Stop! You don't know it is him!"
"IT HAS TO BE!"
As they exited the courtyard, the soldiers and guards, hand bound him in rope and chain.
"LET ME SEE HER! BELVIDERE!"
He burnt the ropes, melted the chains, punched guards and soldiers alike.
"POLARIS LOOK!" Hexxit pointed to the Castle gates where the King and Belvidere were standing.
"GET OFF OF ME! BELVIDERE! I AM HERE! I HAVE RETURNED! I AM HERE!"
Tears welled up in her eyes as she rushed to him. She jumped over a soldier and fell into his arms. He held her close, the heat radiating off of him.
The other Initiative survivors held the soldiers off.
"IS IT HIM?!"
"YES! TELL YOUR MEN TO STAND DOWN!"
"YOU HEARD HER! STAND DOWN! IT IS A JOYOUS DAY! THE HEROES OF WILDERNESS HAVE RETURNED!"
Polaris grabbed the captain of the guard by the throat.
"WHY THE HELL DID YOU STOP US!"
"Well, your papers weren't in order, nor did you have identification...."
"I SHOULD BOIL YOUR INSIDES FOR THAT. I HAVE LOVED HER IN TORTURE! I SURVIVED HELL AND BACK! I WILL NOT HAVE SOME PAPER PUSHER STOP ME! 86 of us never made it back. THEY DIED TRYING TO CLAW THEIR WAY BACK HERE! THE SIX OF US SURVIVED HELL AND BACK TRYING TO GET BACK HERE!"
Belvidere held onto him, the rage welling up with in her sunny lover was far greater than ever before.
"I-I didn't mean...."
"GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY SIGHT! I WILL NOT HESITATE TO END ANYONE WHO DARES STEP FOOT NEAR HER!"
The King kneels before him.
"Mighty Polaris, please forgive my captain's ignorance. I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt, Belvidere never lost hope for a second that you'd be coming home."
His blackened eyes went back to their brown. He looked at her, just as beautiful as the day he shoved her away to save her life.
"I apologize for my outburst Majesty."
"Think nothing of it. I can scarcely imagine the hell you have all been through. Come, let us talk in the Palace."
The Seven had been reunited. Polaris carried Belvidere into the palace, the Captain of the Guard never looked up. His eyes stayed glued to the ground.
