Chapter 10 - Onward to Aathlion

"Archimedes, you have some explaining to do."

"As well as to us! Where the hell have you been?"

Archimedes was clearly flustered by the news, so Polaris told the Elven Royal Scouts of what had happened to them. Their faces went from angry to sorrowful.

"We had no idea...."

"Most of us thought he'd abandoned his promise".

Polaris put his hand on the elves shoulder. "Archimedes would never. We all were simply unable to return here until recently. I too was separated from my Belvidere. Nothing shall make me feel better about what happened."

"That goes for all of us. Polaris is right, we've been through hell, and should Archimedes chose to return home, we shall accompany him."

"Great Heroes of Wilderness, the Elven Princess thought you would, so she had invited all of you to join us, but seeing as there aren't all of you anymore, you'll need to explain what happened to the Princess and the Counsel."

"Understood."

As the Royal Escort released them, the Wilderness Crew packed their nicest clothes and set out of Aathlion. They rode horseback for miles as it seemed the Royal Escort was in a hurry.

While Archimedes rode with the Captain, Veldspar began to notice changes within Polaris. His right eye had become red just like Jupiter's red spot. It wasn't anything alarming, but he'd been heard muttering things in Latin while he slept.

"Hey Hexxit?"

"What's up Spar?"

"What did Archimedes tell you about Polaris?"

"Well.... Polaris is named after both the North Star, and Sol, the sun, however, he does have direct ties to Jupiter."

"Jupiter? That big red dot in the sky?"

"Yes. It was said Jupiter had tied onto him in the form of Rage."

"So, two suns and a failed star? Just how powerful is this guy?"

"We've never actually seen his rage. The only known instance was...."

"Hey, if you two would cut it out, that'd be great. Said Arris messing with her vines."

As they made it to Aathlion, Archimedes was taken before the Princess while the others unpacked.

"Princess Arwen Tethalily, I present to you, Lord Archimedes. He has brought with him the Heroes of Wilderness."

Archimedes knelt before the throne keeping his eyes on the ground. Princess Arwen stood up and walked down from her throne to him.

"Will you raise your head?"

"No. It is bad lucky from me to look upon your face before the ceremony."

"I understand. Therefore, I shall head to my chambers to prepare for the ceremony. Please send Sir Polaris to my room."

"As you wish my lady."

As the Princess leaves, Archimedes stands up and is dismissed. Meanwhile, Polaris makes his way up to the Princess's chambers. With a knock, the guards usher him inside.

"Sir Polaris."

"Lady Tethalily. I am honored..."

"I am flattered by your formalities, however, that is not why I asked for you."

"Oh?"

"I noticed that red eye of yours."

Polaris removes the bandage he had covering it. "Was it that obvious?"

You have something weighting upon your mind that has your Eye of Jupiter.... What is on your mind?

Polaris at first said nothing. However, closing his single, regular eye. He finally spoke, his Eye of Jupiter locked onto her as dead latin spilled out of his mouth.

"Pro Centuriis aspicio genus hoc miserae notae quod genus mortales alias gentes frangat et frangat. Non iam. I, Polaris Sol hyemes Iovis Iram invoco. O stulte homines, veni perniciem tuam. (For Centuries, I have watched this wretched race known as mankind crush and break other races. No longer. I, Polaris Sol Luna, invoke Jupiter's Rage. Come face your destruction O you foolish humans.)"

Reopening his other eye, the Princess who had been standing, had staggered onto her chair. The words had been heavy like the very gravity of Jupiter had seeped into the room. Polaris helped her to her feet.

"Humans... They are the cause?"

"One team of them took out 86 of the Heroes of Wilderness."

"The Rage of Jupiter is not to be taken lightly, so take it seriously."

"Understood your highness."
