It was quite awkward throughout the day Damian kept staring at me awkwardly with those pink highlights in his eyes. Thank God school ended on time and my aunt came to pick me up.
"Aunt Diane, where are we going to go?" we were going in the opposite direction from home, so I had to ask.
Smiling, she said, "it seems like you haven't been thought about a leader's training? We are heading to the King's palace, it is where all leaders start their training," like i said my mom never really let me on on outcast stuff which made me feel inferior to some outcast kids, but nevertheless I couldn't explain the joy that came over me, never have I ever been to the palace before.
Soon we got to the palace, surprisingly we had the king himself waiting for us. I felt like a princess from another kingdom visiting the palace. "D…D…Daine?" As we drew close the king called my aunt's name surprisingly. My aunt had a hostile look in her eyes when I looked at her, like she wasn't expecting to see him there. "You are now the mentor in charge of her?" Pointing to me, asked.
"Do I look like her sister?" she asked in a harsh tone, making the king look away and giving us space to enter the building.
It seems like these two had a history, probably when she and my mom lived in the palace. My mom used to tell me stories about how they lived in the palace growing up. From what she said the king and my aunt were quite close when they were younger, but she never mentioned any mishap between the two, so I was a little confused when I saw what happened.
We walked through the palace hallway looking at ancient pictures of the palace, while my aunt took her time to explain every single detail. I asked her why we were going through pictures instead of doing some spells and stuff like that and she explained that our generation started from the palace, so it turned out our ancestors were kings but the free born thought it was unfair for the to be lead by outkast so they came to the conclusion that every free born king would get married to an outcast to balance the equation, which made me wonder why King Adrian wasn't married and he had a son, Why wasn't he married to the mother of his child? I waved the thought away as it wasn't in my position to ask such questions. I learned why it was important we learned about our origin before proceeding to other things. It was so I won't be deceived by those free born who knew nothing.
Suddenly a shadow passed through the hallway which caught my aunt's attention, she excused herself to see who it was, because we weren't supposed to have any disturbance.

Third person POV
She walked through the hall to see who was sneaking up on her and her niece, suddenly she bumped into someone. "Sorry," she said before looking at who it was.
"I'm sorry," King Adrian apologised. Diane realised who it was, "really? Are you sorry? That's right you have to be sorry." she wasn't exceptionally fond of his company.
"Where is your student?" he asked, ignoring her questions.
"I don't think that's any of your business, you should be more concerned about your wife," she smirked at him.
"Meaning?" He asked curiously, as much as he liked the Scarlet family he didn't trust Diane to some extent, like trusting her with the life of someone that she hates, she was very unpredictable.
"Tell her to stop spying on me and my niece! I haven't forgotten what she did, " She stated.
"Can't you let go of the past?" He asked, earning a glare from Diane.
"I would if the child had died," she told him, making him shiver.
"Do you really hate me?" Adrian asked not to totally change the topic,he tried to hold her hands, which she refused him.
"Why? Don't I have the right?" She asked a question instead of replying.
"You know very well that all of that was a mistake that should have never happened," he said.
"I know it should have never happened but the truth is that it did!" Resentment filled her voice.
"Diane, you know you are his mother regardless of his birth mother. You saved him….."
"Me saving him was a big mistake that I have to pay for! Don't you get it, I lost everything I worked for because of that singular act, it's you I love not the child! But where did that get me? Why did you think I'll go through so much trouble for Isabelle's child?" Tears rolled down her cheek.
Seeing her cry hit him hard in the heart, "am sorry," was the only word he could bring himself to say.
"Sorry? How many times have you said that word? I'm fed up hearing that stupid word that means nothing!" Suddenly she felt very dizzy, she felt she was about to fall when Adrian got her but she had already fainted before he did.
"Aunt Diane!!!!" Ashely screamed immediately she saw her aunt fall. She was so drawn to the pictures that she didn't realise her aunt was gone for too long, she found her aunt almost on the floor.
