The rainwater dripped from his lashes, momentarily obscuring his intense gaze.
Nancy has seen this scene before, in movies she has seen, where the male lead comes running to his lover all drenched and waiting to devour her so they share the cold he feels.
"What… what are you doing here? Where? Where is your car?", Nancy stuttered as she kept staring at him, millions of questions popping up in her mind at once.
"I don't know. I took a taxi and I forgot the address to here because I didn't bring my phone and I got lost but I found my way here", he answered.
Nancy forgot she was supposed to welcome in to avoid getting more drenched than he was, but his unexpected presence and why he was in her house all was convincing.
"Wasn't he supposed to be at the prom?", she thought
"Ummm Nancy! Can… can I?", Nolan asked.
"Oh yes! Oh my God! I'm sorry, please come in" " she said and moved away so he could come in.
Water dripping down his feet to the floor as he walked in, he stood there waiting to follow Nancy's lead.
"Come on. you need to get dried up, you are a mess", Nancy said while chuckling and shaking her head in disbelief.
They both walked into her room and the scent of her supposedly cologne filled the air.
He gazed around her room.
Nancy grabbed her towel and handed it over to him, while watching him dry his hair, she stood there with millions of questions waiting to be answered.
She looked down at his body and could see his packs from the drenched cloth, Nancy looked away and cleared her throat.
"I don't think I have a big shirt for you…", she said as she looked through her closet and luckily she found one of Jada's shirts and joggers she had left in her closet days ago.
"That is right, all Jada's shirts as extra big so you are lucky", she said smiling while grabbing the blue shirt and giving it to Nolan.
"Thanks", he took it and gave her a warm smile.
Despite his rain-soaked appearance, there was an air of confidence and strength that emanated from him.
He took off his clothes and looked over at Nancy who was clearly trying not to look over in his direction, he smiled and dried his body with the towel.
Nancy stood there staring at her table and suddenly the table was so interesting, she knew turning her head would result in seeing his body and that would expose her thirst towards him as her face would not hide how much she wanted him.
"I am done. you can turn over now", Nolan said and immediately saw her eyes on him.
Nancy snickered on seeing him in Jada's clothes.
"I bet Jada doesn't know her clothes would end up in the great Nolan's amazing body", Nancy said while smiling, she immediately figured what she had called his body.
Nolan smiled and stared at her.
He ignored her compliment about his body to avoid making her feel uncomfortable, he walked towards her bathroom and asked for permission before walking in.
He entered and blushed hard while spreading his wet clothes.
After a while, he came out and found Nancy sitting on the edge of her bed, he stood there and watched her.
From her messy bun to her legs, his eyes got lost admiring how pretty she was looking.
"Hey". He said.
Nancy looked up and saw him, she smiled and watched him walk towards her chair.
It still feels like a movie to her, Nolan is right here in her room, what happens to Prom? Why was her room out of all her places to be this night? She never imagined this would happen or why it was happening.
"I… overheard Tara saying you would not be going to prom and…", he paused after seeing her eyes on him.
She looked so beautiful that his heart started beating fast as he kept staring into her eyes, Nolan looked away to avoid grabbing her and kissing the f**k out of her lips.
"I am guessing you are not going to prom also? I mean you are here instead of… there". Nancy said chuckling nervously.
There was a tension between both of them and they both could feel it, the awkwardness and strong emotions between them.
"You should have waited for the rain to stop, I feel bad now that you are wet", Nancy said.
"No…", he chuckled and glanced around her room, "that is my fault… no need to feel bad and out of topic your room looks so good, it fits you", he complimented.
Nancy smiled and looked around.
"It is plain, my room back in New York was better but yeah I guess it's okay here too", she said smiling, showing her teeth and one-sided dimples.
Nolan could swear he never saw a dimple in her cheeks, it was the first time.
Everything about her was just perfect, her body, her aura, her soft-spoken words, everything was all he never imagined a girl could possess.
"Prom must be all nice right now… why didn't you go", Nancy asked, looking straight at him.
Nolan looked away immediately, he shook his head and noticed a portable MP3 speaker on the table, he immediately had an idea.
"Prom sucks… does this work?", he asked and saw Nancy nodded head.
He put it on and it was immediately connected to Nancy's phone.
"Give me your phone? I need your Apple Music", he asked.
Nancy stared at him wondering what he was up to, his smiley eyes made her chuckle, and without questions, she handed her phone over to him.
"What are you doing?", she laughed.
With so much excitement and eagerness, he played Lana del ray Summertime Sadness.
"Instead of going to prom, let us bring prom to us", he said and immediately pulled Nancy up.
"Come on dance with me".
She laughed out and felt reluctant but his courage and determination made her surrender to him.
Lana del ray song going on, he smiled and put his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
Nancy chuckled and put her hands on his shoulder, "I can't believe you are making me dance right now", she said.
"You would be fine", he assured and gently moved to the rhythm of the song.
Their smiles were radiant, reflecting the joy they felt in each other's presence.
Their eyes locked in a passionate gaze filled with an electric intensity. And their bodies swaying in perfect harmony with the rhythm of the music.
Coming to North Carolina was depressing for Nancy, she never thought it would be the best decision she would ever make, meeting Nolan that day in the bathroom and ever since that day has been a dream, each passing day has been nothing but magical.
As they danced, she had no idea what was in his mind but the desire in his eyes gave him away.
Nancy smiled and looked away.
Suddenly he stopped moving and this made her look up at him.
"I… I don't know why I ran all the way here when I heard you would not be going to prom, something in me just wanted to be here so bad, and… I suddenly missed you so much".
Nancy listened, her heart pounding so hard that she thought it would stop, a spark of desire flickered between them and their connection got stronger as they locked eyes.
