Tara knew her brother was probably keeping things from her but it was not the first time since he never opened up much to her. This was different, he had been acting super strange, and as much as she tried to figure it out, Tara could not get a hold of what was happening.
She stared at him intensely waiting for the words to come out.
"I am in…." He paused and looked away, exhaling deeply.
"What!!", Tara asked.
Wanting to tell her sister but at the same time, he knew it was not the right time, Tara was already mad at Nancy, telling her about their relationship would ruin everything and the last thing he wanted was to end things with Nancy or see her sad.
It could wait, he had thought.
"I forgot what I was about to say", he rubbed his neck and gazed around quickly, "Just stop being weird, Nancy and Jada are good friends… I have never seen you more smiley and happier, you should not lose that because of some man that doesn't even like you", Nolan advised.
"So… I would go in", he stuttered and walked away from his sister.
Tara watched him walk away, she scoffed softly and shook her head, "What a weirdo of a brother! Was he just trying to advise me?", she asked herself and scoffed repeatedly.
She immediately realized what Nolan said was true and she might have overreacted.
"I don't care… She should still have told me! Hurt me or not! I have the right to be mad".
"She doesn't have the right to be mad at me!", Nancy said, while sitting opposite Jada with crossed legs on the bed.
Jada sighed softly, "I hate when this happens, people I know fighting… who am I going to support, who am I not going to… who do I be with? Who do I not…".
"You don't have to support anyone, I bet when she is calm, she would realize I did it just because I don't want her to get hurt! I honestly was being thoughtful and instead of getting mad at Jay, she shifted the blame to me". Nancy nagged, she folded her arms and frowned.
"Maybe because you are her friend", Jada muttered.
Nancy who had fallen on her back, sat up on hearing this.
"What? Are you also blaming me for not telling her, would you have told her if you were in my position?", Nancy asked.
Jada shook her head slowly, "I am not blaming you, I am not blaming you or her or anyone, I just hope all this settles! We were fine before Jay decided to show up".
"Don't you blame Jay, it is not his fault", Nancy fell on her back again.
"So you are supporting Jay now?", Jada teased.
"JADA! You are not helping!", Nancy exclaimed.
Jada chuckled softly.
"Come on' don't get all sulked up! Your face would get swollen and you have to be in school on Monday for college fair, you don't want to look all swollen while talking to NYU representatives". Jada warned.
Nancy sighed deeply, she grabbed her head and shrieked.
"What if Uncle Robb gets mad when he realized I applied to NYU after telling me not to? I don't know I feel bad in some way".
Jada moved her butt towards Nancy.
"Quit that thought woman! You are going to NYU and that is final, your uncle can't tell you to quit your dream of getting into that school! So don't do that to yourself, apply and I am sure you will get in, ignore him and go to NYU! I mean that would feel more like home since you have been in New York all your life", Jada said.
Nancy opened her eyes slowly, Jada was right. She should not be getting worried about her uncle, it is her future anyway and not his. If he liked her, he would understand and not bother her.
She let out a smile and looked at Jada, "You are such a blessing to me, thanks Jada".
Jada smirked and also lay next to Nancy as they both stared up at the ceiling.
"Do you think I should quit eating gummies? I have consumed so many gummy worms that I could taste them in my mouth even when I am not eating them… is that normal", Jada asked.
Nancy worriedly stared at her friend, "You should give it a break what the h*ll Nancy, you eat worms every damn time, diabetics is real".
Jada snorted. "Diabetics ain't got none on me… and", she turned her face to Nancy who was now looking up at the ceiling, "I don't think that could cause diabetics, stop being weird".
They both laughed and immediately went silent.
"What school are you applying to? You said Princeton? Or was it NCU?". Nancy asked.
"NCU, Mom always wanted me around", Jada answered.
"What about you? What do you want?", Nancy asked again.
Jada stared up for some seconds before answering.
"I don't know to be honest, I have not made decisions on my own for a while now, you know! Thinking of it, Mom made the most decisions and I just agree with it because she makes the best ones… but the decision about that guy she is currently with is a very bad one! How dare she date a college boy". Jada scowled.
"WHO DOES THAT!", she repeated.
Nancy sat up and looked down at her friend.
"I am almost two years older than Nolan, and you are our biggest shipper, so why are you against your mom liking a younger guy? I mean they are both adults", she said and saw Jada's unimpressed expression.
"My opinion", Nancy added to avoid being murdered by her friend.
"The age gap is just too much I don't know… I mean it is what she wants and I should be happy but I just can't help but imagine a guy just a few years older than I am being my stepdad! That is RIDICULOUS, right?", Jada said while staring at Nancy for support.
She ignored Jada but after a few seconds of noticing her friend's eyes on her, Nancy took a glance at her and chuckled nervously.
"You want some cold juice?", Nancy asked.
