As the group of children said their goodbyes and headed home, Wilhelm couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility. He knew that his mother, Inger, was going out to pick wild mushrooms with her neighbor for dinner. During this time of the year, wild mushrooms were starting to bloom, and it was a popular activity in their town.
When Wilhelm arrived home, he found his mother getting ready to leave. "Where are you going, Mom?" he asked.
Inger smiled, "I'm heading out with my neighbor to gather some wild mushrooms for dinner. It's a tradition during this time of the year. But I'll need you to take care of Nathaniel while I'm gone, alright?"
Wilhelm nodded, "Of course, Mom. I'll take good care of him."
Inger gave him a quick hug before leaving, reminding him to keep Nathaniel from being mischievous or causing trouble. Wilhelm promised that he would keep an eye on his younger brother and make sure he stayed out of trouble.
As Nathaniel played with his toys, Wilhelm sat down next to him and asked, "Hey, do you want to play a game or watch a movie?
Nathaniel looked up at him with a smile, "Can we watch a movie?"
Wilhelm nodded,"Of course! Let's go and choose one."
As they searched through the movie collection, Nathaniel asked, "When is Mom coming back?"
Wilhelm checked the time, "She should be back in a few hours. But don't worry, we'll have fun until then."
Nathaniel grinned, excited to spend time with his older brother. Wilhelm couldn't help but feel proud of himself for taking care of his younger brother and making sure he had a good time. He knew that it was important to be responsible and take care of those around him, especially his family.
