"Stella's point of view,"
"Stella, I beg of you to slow your speed." Avery gave me a nervous look and said,
"Nothing would happen to you if you remained calm and buckled your seatbelt." In response, I put the car in high gear and sped up.
"Please slow your speed; otherwise, we'll crash our car." As the cars approached from the front, she yelled in horror.
"If you don't stop talking, Avery, our car might crash because of your loud voice." I've been struggling to control my rage ever since I learned that Ethan Woods stole the deal I was going to seal with Mr. Roger's company.
I would have called Mr. Woods by now and responded to his nasty deed if I didn't have to face Julia and my so-called ex-lover right now.
I wanted to ram every automobile in front of me to get them out of my way because I could picture Ethan Woods as the driver of every vehicle that was approaching. My automobile was currently playing the song "Unstoppable" loudly.
I am a Porsche with no brakes. In my car, I truly believe that there are no brakes.
"Oh, Jesus, please help me; I don't want to leave this life without marrying or losing my virginity because of this crazy girl." In the seat next to me, Avery was reciting a prayer while clinging to the pendant necklace she wore.
After witnessing her in such a terrified state, I could not contain my laughter.
"Are you that eager to lose your virginity, Avery?"
"Please stop making fun of me in this situation. If you keep going at this speed, I'll jump out of the moving car." After noticing me, she exclaimed angrily.
"If you jump out of a moving car, you'll have to bid this world goodbye with your virginity." I enjoyed observing the look of horror on her face.
I wish Ethan Woods was in my car right now instead of Avery, so I could witness these emotions of utter terror on his face.
"Thank God, we made it to the party safe and alive." Avery releases her seatbelt with a sigh of relief. that sounds like she has been holding her breath for a very long time.
My heartbeat was increasing as I made progress toward the party hall.
Am I prepared to confront Jordan?
Of course, I can deal with that liar. My subconscious inspired me.
"My lovely doll, Stella, Aunty missed you." Upon seeing me, Lily Aunty hugged me. Her embrace did not feel maternal at all; in fact, it was so tight that I felt like I was about to be suffocated.
"I also missed you a lot, aunty."I attempted to escape her tight grasp.
"Stella, you're looking stunning." I turned to face the bar counter when I heard David's voice.
"Stella has always been stunning," Lily Aunty murmured, baring her teeth in an uncomfortable laugh.
David's eyes were fixed on my body, and I could tell that it filled them with lust rather than any admiration for me.
"I believe David likes you, Stella. He has his eyes just on you, despite there being a lot of girls in the party hall." Lily Aunty whispered in my ear quietly.
He doesn't like me, yet there is lust in his eyes. I wanted to tell her. However, even if I wanted to, I couldn't tell Aunt Lily this since no mother could stand to hear such a painful truth about her only son. And even more so when mom loves her son so deeply that she overlooks all of his transgressions. I've never seen a boy as rascally and debauched as David in my entire life. His life's sole goal is to live off of his father's income without having to work hard.
"Excuse me, Auntie; I'll greet Julia first and then join you." I was trying to find any way to get away from my aunt, so when I unexpectedly saw Julia in front of me, I had a fantastic reason.
Do I want to wish this girl a happy birthday? I was repeatedly questioned by my inner voice. I currently find myself in a scenario where I am surrounded by numerous people who hide their true selves from the public. Now that I'm in this circumstance, I also have to present myself to these individuals in how they want to see me.
"Julia, happy birthday!" As I reached out to Julia with the flower bouquet I had brought, I replied.
"I appreciate you coming to the party, Stella; I wasn't expecting you." She observed me from head to toe and remarked.
"After all, you invited me in such a loving manner that I had to come." I uttered it while wearing a stern smile. I could tell by the look on her face that she was not at all pleased to see me at this party.
"You attend the remaining guests, and I'll meet Uncle Daniel." I gave her one more confident smile before I walked away.
Like a fish, she opened her lips wide and then quickly shut them again.
Her face was bright red, displaying just how furious she was right now.
Mission Julia was successful. With this confidence, I must now confront Jordan.
As Avery stood in the party hall's corner, I moved in her direction.
"Is that you, Stella Parker?" Jordan abruptly materialized in front of me and stopped my path just as I was about to approach Avery.
"So, do you still have dreams about me?" Instead of responding to his query, I instead posed my own.
"No, I no longer have these kinds of nightmares."
How dare he talk to me in this tone? Am I a nightmare? Since I listened to him, my ego has suffered.
Relax; what else should you expect from this man? He will understand that you still care about his remarks if you express your rage to him at this point. For this reason, remain composed and conduct yourself in front of him like a powerful businesswoman. I paid attention to my subconscious's advice, and as a result, my rage instantly subsided.
"Jordan, were you kidding? If so, let me inform you that you are still a terrible joke-teller." I continued to have a stern expression on my face as I spoke.
"You can't talk to me like this."
Upon seeing him, I felt as though I had stolen a young child's candy.
"Darling Jordan, my dear cousin's boyfriend—or should I say my ex-boyfriend—I don't want to talk to you any longer, and I'll ask Jesus to grant me the grace to never have to see your hideous face once more." My mouth is becoming sour as I speak to him because my heart is so full of resentment toward that man.
"What? Do you think my face is filthy now?" He probably didn't expect to get such a response from me.
"When you're done talking gibberish, please get out of my way so I may introduce myself to the other guests and enjoy my darling cousin's birthday celebration." I gave him the go-ahead to get out of my path.
"Stella Parker, you have undergone a significant change." He said, glancing at me as I moved forward with assurance.
"Change is the law of nature. I have learned to embrace the inevitable shifts in my life." After I said this, I left him there on his own.
