"Stella's point of view,"
"I hate him.
In terms of heinousness, he has done everything possible. The haughty man probably had trouble understanding me when I told his assistant that I would not sell my land to his boss under any circumstances." My frustration was already at an all-time high when he called me, but his call pushed it over the edge. I violently smashed my phone against the table, believing it to be Ethan Woods.
I am finally at ease. Although I know that harboring anger for extended periods is bad for my health, I can only feel angry when I think about Haughty Ethan.
"Stella, what are you murmuring to yourself when you stand alone?" It diverted my attention from my thoughts to reality when I heard Avery's voice.
"Ethan Woods.
He contacted me and made an offer to purchase my property."
"What, you've been standing there for a long time while contemplating Mr. Woods?" She tried to make fun of me.
"Stop trying to read my mind; I wasn't considering him in the same way you were." I attempted to correct her misconception.
"So, how do you know I'm thinking incorrectly if this is the case?" I wanted to slam her head against the wall when I saw her sly smile. Why, knowing full well that I despise him, does she insist on taunting me with the name
"Ethan" repeatedly?
"Stop your stupidity; you are making fun of me while knowing how much I detest him." I tried to convince her of my situation.
"Love is more abundant whereas hate is more prevalent." She tried to taunt me with her naughty remarks once more.
"You had the best stop your nonsense if you want to show your attractive face at the party tonight." I yelled at her.
"I was only making fun of you, so relax. Now that your mood has returned to normal, tell me what you plan to wear tonight at the party." She inquired as she opened my cupboard and cast a glance my way.
"What about this royal blue gown for an evening party?" I'm not sure how she saw the dress when I had concealed it beneath the other garment.
"No, I can't wear this dress." I whispered my response to her inquiry.
"Why?" Her eyes were full of dissatisfaction as she looked at me and seemed to ask why I wasn't wearing this dress.
"Because I dislike the color blue." Right now, I am at a loss for a better way to sidestep her question.
"You don't need to tell me a falsehood because I know fully that your favorite color is blue. Jordan liked this dress, so you don't want to wear it to that party."
"Please, Avery, I'd rather not discuss this." I pulled another gown from the closet and made my way to the restroom.
"With this attitude, will you face Jordan?" I stopped my motion toward the bathroom in its tracks when I heard her voice.
"What do you expect from me, then?" I turned to face her once more.
"Please wear this dress to the party tonight and approach that cheater Jordan with poise and grace. Make it clear to him that you no longer care about him." She grabbed the dress out of my hands and replaced it with the same blue color dress. I was not at all prepared to put up with her stubbornness, but after hearing her tone of authority, it compelled me to bow to her as usual.
Although I vehemently objected to wearing the dress, I couldn't refuse Avery. Whether I want to take her advice, she never gives me poor advice and always tells me to do what is right. I have chosen her as my assistant because of her expertise.
"I don't have any good excuse not to pay attention to you, so okay?" I shot her a snide glance and shut the restroom door.
"That's like my good girl." Even in the restroom, I could hear her voice brimming with joy.
When Jordan saw me, did he assume that the reason I was wearing this dress was to impress him? How will I convince him I have forgotten about him entirely and moved on with my life? I'm not sure how I'll feel when I see Jordan and Julia together. I shouldn't let the fury I've been holding inside my head come out in a flash.
Put an end to your foolishness and push pointless thoughts from your mind. I silenced the babble coming from my subconscious.
"Stella, did you doze off in the restroom?" After hearing Avery's voice, I looked at the clock and saw that I had been standing in the shower babbling to myself for a while. I exited the bathroom as swiftly as possible after turning off the shower.
"Can we leave now?" When I opened the door, Avery was waiting for me, dressed and eager to go.
"How did you get dressed so quickly?" Looking at her from head to toe, I asked in a voice filled with awe.
"You, too, would have dressed up and gone to the party by now if you hadn't wasted time standing under the shower talking to yourself." She mocked me.
"P.A. Darling, maybe we can still make it to the party on time if you help me with my makeup instead of making fun of me." I referred to using a dryer to dry my hair.
"Yes, Miss Parker, why not?" One of her favorite activities is applying makeup.
"Stella, you look stunning." She stared at me. I know completely that she intends to boost my confidence with these words. Who would believe that Stella Parker is so weak from the inside because of a betrayal of love, based on my professional image?
I don't know how many men I show their status to from morning to night, but I still don't have the guts to approach Jordan, even after all these years.
I'm scared that if I go in front of him, I'll revert to the Stella who groveled for his affections years ago.
No, I won't do anything like that. I value my self-respect above all other feelings, and I'll face Jordan with all of my courage.
"Stella, I've got some bad news." I turned to look at her because of her frightened voice.
"What occurred, and why are you acting so tense?" I grabbed Avery's phone out of her hand and checked the screen, hoping to find out what was making her so nervous.
"Not again, Ethan Woods."
"Stella, what will you do now?" Avery's eyes were brimming with sympathy as she studied me.
"Stop looking at me with pity. I am not a victim. I am fully aware of his motivations. He tried to win me over." I exhaled deeply for two to three breaths to control my rage before gesturing for Avery to enter the car.
After all, what exactly is this guy's issue? Why doesn't he get my point right away that I won't, under any circumstances, sell him that land? It surprised me how low he would go to make his point. I wanted to contact him right now and scream at that conceited Ethan Woods, but I have one more crucial task to complete before.
I'll deal with Ethan Woods later; right now, I'm entirely focused on tonight's party.
